Recommend if you are looking for a clean and quality place to stay and are a budget traveller. This yha has a very high standard compared to others. It is more like a youth hotel with bunk beds rather than a backpackers place. You also meet travellers of all ages, families and youth groups around the place. The rooms are super tidy and serviced daily, spacious luggage lockers that fit a large suitcase (fantastic!) and are light filled with aircon or windows to be opened. The kitchen is very big, nice rooftop terrace with city views and pool area. Tv lounge and soon it’s own co working hub which I think is a great addition to the concept. Free luggage storage for guests and friendly and helpful staff.

I wish I had of read these reviews prior to booking a room. I wanted something close to the airport and at last minute this was all that was left. I don't consider $148 a cheap room for 1 night, a shared backpackers room would of been cleaner. I got a text after booking and paying asking me to enter more details again including credit card, it said to upload a photo, didn't say upload your licence so therefor never sent the room code, when I rang I got a lady I could not understand who explained I didn't need to worry because I could do it at reception, when we arrived at reception the lady told me I MUST DO IT OR I CAN'T STAY!! 1hr later and 2 others in reception having the same issues we were given a room code, the room smelt like a dead wet dog, we were on ground level the curtain was see through and didn't block any of the elements out, the shower was that small you could only fit in one leg at a time.... prior to arriving I asked if they had a laundry on site I was told yes to only be told once checked in the washing machine is broken.. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

Jennifer on reception was hugely helpful; made our stay very easy and smooth after I drove for five hours and my family flew for 24 to get to Brisbane! Apartment was good to prepare easy meals in (Kidman Suite).

I left another local hostel after one night as it was just too noisy - I wanted a place for a good rest so that I could really enjoy all the amazing day trips nearby. This place did just that! I booked a single occupancy room (shared bathroom) on the day and stayed for 4 nights - great value for money and really did the job - I had a perfect rest here. Other guests were of all ages and were friendly. The hostel was very quiet at night and put on some optional entertainment (I chose not to partake and it didn’t disturb me at all). The pool area is small but great! Big kitchen area to cook in and store food. The staff were great at helping me book day trips and the location is fantastic for these (I did the Great Barrier Reef, karunda skyrail and daintree trip from here and the location was perfect). I would definitely stay again!

Bupper within walking distance of Gold Coast Airport in Coulangatta. I booked a private room to recover because I stayed in a very noisy 々 good buffer １ weeks until the day before my stay (laughs) I don't have a single for four consecutive nights, and the first two nights are twin singles It was like 50 〜 60 Australian dollars per night in Su, and 40 Australian dollars per night from the third night? Still, it is broken compared to the surrounding hotels. (Australia is really expensive and hard to stay) Also, it is good to move because it is difficult to move at check-in, so if you ask if you can't do it in the same room during your stay, you already have a reservation I was told I couldn't. Still, the staff was good. Except for the owner, the staff were all friendly and nice backpackers (laughs). The facility itself was old, well maintained, and there were several public spaces, and the privacy was moderately protected and cozy. Dark room, dining room, bright room with billiard table, spacious garden where smoking and BBQ can be done, garden with pool, and other garden with bench ５ places? There was. Unlike the buffer in the city, it was such a buffer that I wanted to stay again in a calm atmosphere. There are no restaurants and supermarkets around, but it is close to the airport, so it is good for the night before the flight or the rest after entering the field. I will definitely stay again soon.

The only thing insufficient was not having toothbrush and toothpaste inside the room. Overall the experience was nice and I will choose to stay here next time.

Easier to nice location, polite people, easy to get help

I stayed here about 2 weeks in early Jan. I got a bed next to a balcony in a 6 beds room which gave me little extra privacy. The room was cleaned fine throughout my stay. The bed was not large but comfortable with a nice mattress, light and power sockets. There is a bathroom for a toilet and a shower (not separated) for the room. So, I had to share it with 5 others when all beds were filled. Common area at the basement was pretty good for having nice furnitures. The kitchen and dining areas were cozy and spacious. You need $1 or $2 coins for laundry and dryer ($3 each). If you struggle to prepare coins, apparently there is a self-service laundry and cash dispenser nearby (I didn't try it though). Definitely confusing to find the reception for check-in. You need to walk through between The Island and a teppanyaki restaurant on Surfers Paradise Blvd.

I booked an ensuite room a few months ago in this place and we were supposed to check in on 26/12. that didn’t happen because of covid so we went later on 28/12 (our booking was from 26/12 to 29/12). we called a hundred times to make sure they didn’t put anyone in our room as we were going to arrive there a few days later. when we got there, the guy on the reception gave us the key to our room and we realized someone was there cause there were bags in the room. after that, the same guy said these people were not supposed to be there and also said they were fully booked and he was going to talk to the manager. then, the manager came to us and said the room was double booked and they were really sorry, only thing they could do was give as a refund. I quickly checked on booking.com if there was a room for that night in Surfers Paradise and all the places were double or even triple the price we were supposed to pay on Backpackers in Paradise. so I started arguing with the manager cause only a refund was not enough, we had booked the room months before that and they simply come to us saying there was nothing they could do, really annoying and disrespectful. good thing was the blonde lady at the reception that came up with an idea to call someone that was supposed to check in the night before asking if they would come so we stayed there for the night (in a room completely different than the one we booked in the first place). we asked for a refund and they agreed. They gave us a refund on 03/01 and on 26/02 they charged $270 from my account without my permission. after calling booking.com a hundred times, we still haven’t got the money back cause they say the hostel don’t authorize the refund. this is really serious. we stayed there in december, then in february they charge money from my bank account and now they don’t wanna give him the money back. besides all that, terrible place to stay. bad management and dirty rooms

I really loved this motel as it was very Quiet during the day and night, even though they were full with guests. The motel was very, very clean, the beds were very comfortable and there was enough room for my two young children to play. The staff at reception were so friendly and helpful in arranging a ground floor unit for me. I have noticed that many hotels in Cairns are not staffed since Covid and it was so wonderful to have friendly staff available at reception and answering phones. Thanks for a wonderful stay. I will be back.

Easier to nice location, polite people, easy to get help

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, very clean and modern and friendly, helpful staff. A variety of accommodation options from single bed pods in a shared room, to a variety of dorms and also private en-suite rooms. The shared bathrooms are clean and you can have them all to yourself if you get up early!! A great location a short walk from the cbd with plenty of eating places nearby, plus the hostel offers a free breakfast.

Awful, there isn’t any other way to describe it. Do not stay here, everything is completely run down. No maintenance at all the place hasn’t ever seen a paint brush. Checked in then checked out within 10 mins, made sure I got a refund, the managed (presume) I dealt with -completely understood and couldn’t give me my money back any quicker. On arrival I could see the kitchen was filthy and small, upon walking to my room I was confronted with a man that had thrown up in his top and was holding it in his T-shirt while walking down the stairs. (15:20) Arrived to my ‘box room’ it was a complete state, curtains are stained and don’t cover the windows, the ceiling fan was clinking and clanging and on the verge of coming off. Aircon was non existent, also extremely loud. I can safely say I didn’t bother even entering the showers or toilet faculties- I think that was for the best. Just another hostel that doesn’t care about it’s clients literally just offering a bed to stay for a night and taking your money. Hostel selina , 200 meters round the corner isn't even comparable to this place so don’t waste your money on summer house and go hostel selina. I stayed here for 6 nights for a training course nearby. I was impressed overall. Room was clean, wifi was very fast with a strong signal and the room relatively was quiet, despite being near a busy main road. Rooms included a pod coffee machine too, with coffee pods free of charge from reception. Walking distance from Rocklea railway station (which is temporarily closed but has stationlink buses to to the next station up the line). Only minor quibble was that reception was sometimes closed earlier than the published hours. I would happily stay here again.

It was already more than 10 o'clock in the evening. There was no front desk staff, and the room card was left in the password box. As a result, the hotel has two addresses. We found another address according to the map of the hotel. After several weeks, we found the room card. There is no service call. If you don't understand the map and instructions in English, or if you have problems with your room card, you will definitely not be able to enter the room at night. It is not too close to the airport for 30 Australian dollars. The room usually has a musty smell. Upgrade to the nearest airport, suggest picking other homes, not recommended

Hotels are also compared to other bappers Entrance is also properly, like a normal hotel. The receptionist is also kind. The rooms are large but relatively clean There is an outlet for each bet It's a big help!

The room was clean & today & the bed was very comfortable. Plenty of hot water for the shower & basin but be careful as the hot water comes our extremely very very hot & instant. It seems everyone has trouble locating the key pads. This is because they are digital screens, so when you arrive you just see a box & no keypad. Ad this is a keyless entry check in hotel I would suggest the instructions explain you won’t see a key pad but a little box & tap on it to light up digital keypad. We were in room 13 next to the closed reception and we heard many people ringing the helpline because they couldn’t locate the key pad for entry to the carpark or hotel. Our TV kept switching off at night with the screen message no signal, so we couldn’t watch TV any night which was extremely disappointing. We had 2 chairs in the room and one had faulty legs and was unsafe to sit on. We found the location good as it was a very casual walk to restaurants & cafes in Racecourse Rd. There is a fish & chip takeaway shop directly opposite the hotel. We were a little disappointed in that we would have liked a balcony as per the photo, but not all rooms have balconies.

With an unexpected couple of nights to spend in Brisbane, and looking for something relatively close to the airport, I chanced upon this great motel. It gets five stars from me as it excels at what it is…clean, decent, comfortable accommodation at a fair price and in a good location. Helen on reception was fantastic and friendly, helping me out with an early check in and sharing knowledge about local places to eat. I had a second floor room but there’s a lift. My room was spotless, spacious and had everything I needed. I hate the mean-spirited places that portion out two teabags in your room – so I loved that here, there were six teabags! It’s the small things ;-) Although close to a busy road, the rooms are reasonably sound-proofed and the traffic dies off dramatically at night. With a comfortable bed, decent pillows and nice linen, I had a good night’s sleep. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the raceways twice recently. On our way to Norfolk Island and again on the way back. We have stayed before because it is so handy to the airport. It was a good choice again this time. The motel is a “golden chain classic “. And it is a classic. It is clean the beds are really comfortable air conditioning is good and quite and the motel is in a very quiet street. It is really close to some amazing restaurants in racecourse road and only a couple of blocks to even more in the bretts wharves area. The hosts are very nice and helpful. The room is a good size and there is a big long bench to repack bags and sort out your gear and a table and chairs. Would recommend as a good choice for a basic motel. Pool too looked good.

Stayed at the Riverview Motel for 1 night arrived after hours, good communication with owners in regards to late checkin - close to the Brisbane Airport. They do have a courtesy bus which will take you to the cruise terminal or airport which is fantastic. We also had a cancelled flight so had to get last minute accommodation and just rang the motel as we had stayed there before all was easily arranged for us, this was much appreciated. About the room itself bed was very comfortable clean sheets and towels also microwave supplied in the room. It could certainly do with a facelift as it is a very old motel I found the lighting very poor and certainly the bathroom needs redoing, but overall for $130-$138 per night was reasonable and staff were very friendly. I would certainly recommend this Motel to anyone looking for a short stay near airport, brisbane city itself.

After an earlier review of a complete lack of room perpetration I was extremely nervous about staying here. In preparation I made alternate plans but fortunately I didn't need them. I made my booking on WOTIF, the welcome at reception was quick and efficient. The room was basic, tea and coffee, queen bed and basic toiletries. The room was clean enough for its age, the bathroom could use some new grout and a bigger tv wouldn't go astray. It's located near some nice restaurants near the Wharf, all a short stroll. I feel I paid a premium for this place but I understand we are coming out of a pandemic. There is a sign on the door saying to contact them directly to get a better rate. I would stay there again but it would be price dependant

No breakfast, it is a long time to wait for a waiter to check in, and check out the key to the key recycling bin next to the front desk. The elevator is very small, the two suitcases can only stand by one person, the aisle is very narrow, but the room is spacious. There are almost no shops around, there is a shopping mall that is 1km away and it is closed very early. There are home outlets in 15 minutes by car.

The location is dead centre cairns city, the 4 bed dorm is good for a group. The kitchen on level 4 is lovely, although some other quests do not clean up after themselves. The pool is lovely & you can get discounts on food and drink in the bar. The the aircon in the room cannot be controlled, we had to sleep in hoodies because it was so cold in the room. There is then NO aircon in the communal areas, making it incredibly uncomfortable to cook or relax. There is not clothes horse for drying clothes. The music that plays every night until 3am can we heard in every room in the hostel! One of the bar waitresses was very rude, pass-remarkable, made personal comments (weight/clothing) and poorly mannered in general.

1) It was a nightmare checking-in. I reached the hostel at 6:30pm and realized that there was no reception but to use Goki for checking-in. However, I received a notice from Goki that ”no reservation” after keying in my confirmation number. I got a shock and kept asking for help from strangers within the hostel. By the time I got it solved, it was like 8:30pm and I was starved to death. 2) Though Goki is an easy system but u need to bring your mobile everywhere you go even to the toilet eg shower (what happen if you forget to bring out the phone); there was a time my phone was almost out of battery (1% left) and I have to quickly charge it by borrowing charger from others. 3) There is no window in my room (single) and the air-con temperature is beyond my control 4) The reception area only opens till 2pm daily, after which you have to make call for any housekeeping services. It really pose inconveniences for first timer who wants to know about Cairns in terms of the directions, places of interests etc. 5) The location is excellent but I don't think I will recommend this hostel to my friends in future.

For the price this place offers everything you need. The pool and kitchen area are appealing and a feature of the hotel. The secure car parking is great. The room itself has all the basics and a few extras like hair dryer and ironing board. The hot water and shower are excellent. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Should you like a walk, the hotel is around a 30 to 40 minute walk to the foreshore lagoon area. Set in a generally quiet area with a few nearby shops and food outlets.

The photos provided by the operators are extremely deceptive. The accomodation is old and run down. The shower tiles were painted at some stage, and it is now peeling off both the floor and the walls. The “updated” vanity basin and tap are poorly sizes and you are unable to fully wash your face due to the shape and size of the basin with a shorter necked faucet . There is no complete enclosure for water in the shower resulting in you flooding the bathroom each time you shower- we ended up using the common showers in the passageway to attempt keep our room dry. The toilet paper is only single ply so bring your own if you decide to stay here !! Our towels and sheets had stains on them and the pillows are flat and lumpy. I wouldn’t swim in the pool unless you’ve had your latest tetanus shots. We were followed back to the accommodation by a slightly hostile homeless person one night which was slightly unnerving for our teenage daughters. The nicest part of this accommodation is the outdoor BBQ area. The breakfast provided smelt ok, but we decided to eat at the cafe at the marina each day as we were heading out to the reef and islands anyways. We decided to stay here and save money as generally we are out during the day and only need a comfortable bed and a clean shower- next time we will be going back to our regular accommodation closer to the Esplanade. I

Staff are marvellous. Go the extra yards to accommodate you. Clean, off street parking, laundry and easy walking to all things in the heart of Csirns. 100m to the Cock n Bull Hotel, BWS, several take aways, gym, restaurants. Ill be back again snd agsin.

This hotel is very good. We are a family of three adults and one child. The room is very large, with a double bed (1.5 meters wide) and two single beds, separate bathroom, refrigerator, microwave oven, dishes, cutlery and forks. Spoons and toasters are very convenient. The hotel has no breakfast and no extra bed. It is suitable for a family. It can be said to be very good at this price. The hotel also has free parking spaces, free Wi-Fi, and a small swimming pool. The hotel is 1.2 kilometers away from the bustling beach area. You can eat and drink when you stroll. The location of the hotel is within the range of free pick-up and drop-off for day trips, which is very convenient.

It is very rare to have a hotel of this price during the Spring Festival, so if this hotel can meet the basic needs of rest, in addition to additional facilities, it is really good value for money! First of all, the location of the hotel is a certain distance from the city center. It is a half-hour walk, but there is nothing to visit in the city, it is nothing more than a supermarket to buy things. Secondly, the hotel's facilities are complete, basic things are available, and you can rest well at night. There is also a kitchenette in the room where you can cook your own meals, which is really a bonus. Finally, because it is a motel, the service is basically absent, but the front desk staff are very enthusiastic, so there will be no uncomfortable feeling.
