I Stayed here for 14 nights with two other friends from the 9th of May. On arrival we found that our twin room was a little too small for us but we were quickly offered a bungalow as an upgrade at a reduced price. The hotel is a simply amazing place to stay with courteous and friendly staff who really go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The facilities are spot on. There is always plenty going on with the hotel feeling more like a village than simply an hotel. If you intend staying here your best option is going all inclusive. Half Board can work out pricey if you enjoy a few drinks whilst watching the evening entertainment. There is a shop on site where you can also purchase a bus ticket into Rethymno for €2. There are two other restaurants where you can enjoy Grecian cuisine at its finest and also a Taverna. Near the hotel there are plenty of bars and restaurants if you just fancy a change. So don’t hold back if you are considering this hotel you won’t be disappointed.

We have stayed at this hotel on three previous occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately our experience this year was very disappointing. As always, the dining and bar staff were very helpfull and friendly. The housekeeping staff were also excellent as were the groundsmen who kept the gardens immaculate. Unfortunately the management were totally disinterested in our overall comfort and enjoyment. They refused to address an issue for which there was a very simple solution. Our air conditioning was also not working throughout our stay with no effort to rectify the problem. Given the cost of the holiday I would have expected more consideration and sadly it is unlikely we will return and would not recommend this hotel.

We had a great time. The food is really good and varied. The personnel are very friendly. We loved the excursions, especially those organized by Spiridpn. The chauffer - guide is extraordinary. He tells the same jokes every time. His meme is "Tuff tuff *. Seek him out!!

The package we booked with Tui included this hotel and resort on a half board basis. The hotel was clean and of a very good standard, some other reviews suggested it was "dated" this was not the impression we got. Yes it wasn't all glass and chrome, but at the end of the day our room was comfortable and certainly of a good size with a good view of the beach area. The breakfast and evening meal buffets were excellent with a lot of choice and ideal for trying out various dishes. The main meat joint which changed each night was of good quality and if you wanted more you could return as often as you liked. The one downside was the cost of the drinks served at the table, it seemed strange at breakfast you could have sparkling white wine and make up a bucks fizz but in the evening there was not a similar arrangement. We had heard from others that the evening table drinks were expensive and that proved to be the case. The local bus to Rithymna stopped right out side the hotel on the road and it cost 2 Euros for a single ticket. You need to buy a ticket in the hotel shop or locally before boarding the bus. If you want an evening beer or cocktail there are bars a short walk from the hotel heading towards Rithymna, The Cafe Greco and a few metres away the Cafe Memories are just two you might like. The latter sells local draft beer and is cheaper :-)

Back for 6th time enjoying our Diamond wedding . Holiday. Brilliant in a quiet bungalow with a beautiful sea and lovely garden view. We go to enjoy our Holiday to the most and certainly did. Aquila gives so much it's up to you enjoy the brilliant service you get from all areas like we always do. The One Moment Rose wine is great at any time of day. We enjoyed a drink in the bar with George then a night cap with Mills in the quiet Taverna. Go with a positive mind and you receive the perfect holiday.

We stayed half board, with plenty of restaurants close by, it was nice to mix it up food wise. Hotel food nice. Drinks very expensive. We only drank water (ask for the 5 euro plastic bottle otherwise you'll be given a 6 euro glass one). Got stung ordering 2 coffees at the hotel , cost 15 euros. We bought our own coffee, water, and beers for our room. Hotel entertainment is terrible - held a quiz and karaoke night in a depressing conference room hidden in the hotel, more reps than guests. The young entertainment team seem to be more interested in enjoying themselves over adding to the guests' experience. Plenty of sunbeds and a complimentary room available to book on your last day for 30min to freshen up after you've checked out. Staff seem friendly and helpful.

I chose this hotel for my wedding party based on the reviews and value for money. I had just under 50 guests staying at this hotel and below is my honest opinion. The staff upgraded our room when they found out we were getting married in Crete. They also upgraded our room further due to the room flooding during a thunderstorm. We were happy with how the staff handled the situation, being very accommodating knowing my wedding was the following day. Most of the staff were lovely, especially the staff at the spa and reception. However, I was extremely upset and disappointed to hear that my sister in law had faced discrimination after being told she could not go in the swimming pool with her children despite wearing appropriate for swimwear for those who are multicultural. This was very upsetting to hear, particularly as I chose this hotel for my guests. For them to feel discriminated against is simply not acceptable and no apology has been given from the hotel as they do not believe they are in the wrong. Few of my guests from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities also stated they did not feel welcome, feeling as though they were being treated differently. This felt evident when waiting at the bar as we found some of the staff were rude and did not want to serve my party, sometimes waiting 45 minutes to be served a drink. Overall I do not feel this hotel is inclusive or multicultural. The decor and food is more of a 4 star hotel (excluding the spa which was lovely). I hope a solution can come of the above situation but I am upset and disappointed about how this has been handled, particularly as I chose this hotel for my guests and feel some responsibility.

Sadly I don’t think this hotel merits 5 star. The rooms are very dated and the bathroom with its bath and very basic shower is a real disappointment. The room however was clean and beds comfortable. The staff are great and breakfast has lots of choice. Dinner wasn’t great. Too much was overcooked and some of the meat quite tough. The main pool is very large but cold and unfortunately has a large amount of flies floating in it. I think in its heyday it might have been 5 star but not any longer. It desperately needs money spending on the rooms. Sadly I won’t return as it’s too old fashioned for me.
