The Syntopia Hotel - Adults Only

We have just returned from a weeks stay at The Syntopia hotel, Rethymnon, Crete. I am not sure there are enough words to describe our experience. Absolutely fantastic hotel, probably the best hotel we have stayed in and we have stayed in a few nice ones over the years. It was quirky with a Scandinavian boho vibe to it. It is exactly what it looks on the pictures when we booked (if not even better) we stayed all inclusive and the food was to die for, plenty of choice each morning, noon and evenings. The waiters and waitresses couldn’t do enough for you especially keeping us well hydrated taking our orders whilst we basked in the sun. I’d like to mention Anastasia in particular as she really looked after us over the week we was there. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, and cleaned every single day with fresh water left for us by our mini fridge. Everyone is pleasant around the hotel. I used the gym which was also kept very clean. I can’t wait to rebook this hotel asap! I have come home feeling so so relaxed. It is only a 5 minute taxi ride away from rethymnon old town, we had gone there a couple of nights to break it up. I’d of like to have seen a chilled dj set one of the days around the pool but this didn’t spoil it as there was lovely chilled music played all day anyway. Would recommend anyone booking this hotel. We were so impressed with this hotel after staying for a week in may. The staff were delightful from the very start till the end. We got drinks on arrival despite all-inclusive finishing for the night. All throughout the day drink orders were taken and drinks would be delivered to you which was lovely. Our room was stunning, clean, and modern, id recommend a pool-view room. I love that there are 3 pools as you are always guaranteed a sunbed, which I was sceptical of. The rooftop pool and bar is a gorgeous place to chill out and watch the sunset. There was entertainment most nights at the main pool which we enjoyed as there isn't much around the area. There are also daytime activities including yoga but I think more activities would be better to suit all. The food at the all-inclusive buffet was your average all-inclusive food, there was a variety of foods but usually the same thing every day apart from one night when they had Asian food. The canteen is a nice touch if you don't like anything in the restaurant, they offer nachos and other little bites. There are a few restaurants around which i would recommend checking out for something diffrent. The surrounding area was very quiet when we visited, there's lots of typical holiday shops and a few restaurants but I'd definitely recommend going into Rethymno which is only a 15-minute taxi. We went once but regret not going more. Overall id recommend this hotel for a peaceful relaxing getaway for couples or friends.

This hotel is superb, 5 stars for sure. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door. Greeted by the Manager, Michael, who continued to help us throughout our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble. His team that included bar, restaurant and poolside service was outstanding 👏

The snytopia is a beautiful hotel and is a Instagram worthy resort. Staff are very friendly and do their best to help. The rooms are lovely and clean but the lighting is very dark especially in the toilet and shower. The wifi is very temperamental and can be hard to connect. As for the food and drink this is their downfall. If your a foodie this is not the hotel for you Tuesday and Wednesday are your best nights to eat in the restaurant. In the end we ended up going out for food as the food was not up to par, which was an unexpected cost as we are all inclusive. I tried to inform staff that for me I can't eat as much of the food they put out due to food allergy_ Anaphylaxis. They did not seem to grasp how bad it was and that I was leaving their restaurant hungry as I couldn't eat. They did offer me something else to eat one night as it was paticularly bad and barley ate anything. At this moment I was stressed as I had to repeatedly explain food safety and what cross contamination is. Their have been times were they had a new person at the reception who did say a few tine I don't understand you and can't help you. This did add to my frustration and I get it that they new and need to learn but they also should not be left alone. I have stayed in enough hotels that are 4 to 5 stars in my years of traveling and working alone side travel companies. This hotel is a 3 star a max a 3.5 they need to strive to do better to help their guest. I will not be recommending this to the travel business I work with. Another thing to add I booked a birthday package for my partner birthday the cost is 90 euro a rip of I stayed at 5 star hotel same offer 30 euro last year and they went out of their way to be perfect. So far I had to work around them and to suit their need and not the guest which goes back to their way of helping m with the food was to work around then telling me to come just before they open,knowing I won't be there as we out. This hotel looks very pleasing and inviting to it guess but need to do better with their customers support.

Gorgeous hotel, I loved the boho style & serene atmosphere. The staff are wonderful & friendly. The food options are plentiful & fresh. It’s an immaculate hotel, very clean & well maintained. Three lovely pool areas with comfy lounge day beds. Close to the beach & pretty sunsets from the rooftop bar. Nice little stroll down to some souvenir shops & a visit to some of the cafes/bars. I recommend Mr Gyros for a good meal…some of the best fish I’ve ever had & a fantastic host.

My partner and I stayed in the Jungle Suite at The Syntopia hotel and had a wonderful time. The food selections and quality for breakfast, lunch and dinner were superb. They have so many choices, there is truly something for everyone. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful, they couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome. They make everyone feel extremely special. I didn’t catch the name of the lady who managed the outdoor seating area of the restaurant, but she went above and beyond to look after us during our visit. We had a couples massage at the spa on site which was delightful, it set us up for a very relaxing break. A special mention to Katerina, the spa manager who was absolutely wonderful, she was so kind and helpful. The room was comfortable and kept clean throughout our stay. We will definitely return soon. Katerina was an amazing host she was really friendly and amazing personality. Dora gave the best massage I have ever received and the overall atmosphere is incredible. I would recommend the spa massage it’s worth every penny. Truly world class

We have visited the spa today and did the relaxing treatment experience 1. I was helped at the front desk by Katrina and my therapist was Aspa. My partner was treated by Vagayo. It was amazing throughout the whole treatment, we had excellent time. And feel incredibly relaxed and were talked through the full treatment. The body scrub has prepped us ready for the sun

The most amazing hotel ever!! We absolutely loved our stay here. The food was delicious with a wide variety at every meal. As with most all inclusive resorts, there is some limitations to drinks but there was still a huge variety!! Cocktails only available after 5pm but plenty of spirits, beer, and soft drinks throughout the rest of the day. The staff are absolutely outstanding. Extremely catering and helpful and so polite. The gym is only small but has good quality equipment. We loved the outdoor cinema, where they provided popcorn and blankets, was very cosy. The various bands throughout the evening were good and relaxing. The Ano rooftop bar was amazing at sunset, panoramic views of the sky and city. The hotel is a 10/10 so aesthetically pleasing and well decorated. Couldn’t fault the hotel at all. The location isn’t the best, there’s a few shops and small restaurants/bars around but we took a 10 minute taxi to Rithymno (the hotel helped us organise this) and it was so lively! Would 100% recommend this hotel and would stay again.
