Previous: The previous negative statements are obsolete. The hotel has worked on itself. This begins in the nicely designed lobby and in the friendly reception. It has been detailedly informed about everything that is knowledgeable. Dogs are allowed! Since there are no parking places nearby, it is offered to park for 13 Euros in the deep garage. The public parking house is charged 15 Euros. The location is very cheap. From the train station there are few meters. The city centre is just next to it. The hotel was thoroughly renovated, yet you see the hotel 70er-Flair. The rooms are clean. A bottle of water was ready for the reception. Chocolate shops were missed. The minibar was empty. The temperature could only be controlled by opening the window; it was clearly too warm! The room went out to the street. But the windows are soundproofed. The bathroom is spacious. However, the bath/douche combination irritated. Very good I assess the room service that comes only on order. I hate when foreigners deal with my stuff. The swimming pool is well reached, clean and appropriately tempered. The breakfast has a rich selection of lactose and gluten free food. The breads are backware, however. The service is very good. The staff is always accessible. We had booked half-pension. There was a 3-Gange menu. Suppe ok, main gang medium. Desserts didn't go at all. Vanilla sauce tasted intensely to lemon. The staff are all very nice. The room is spacious and you don't feel closed. Overall our stay was pleasant. We could also spontaneously book the unreserved breakfast for several days. However, the cleanliness was not fully respected in our case. We ordered the daily cleaning service, which is a great offer, as it is not necessary for such a short stay. The room was always made on the weekend, however, the room was not quite clean at our arrival. The bathing turk button was full of dust, the set glasses for the bottle of water included in the price had still a lipstick beam from the pre-visitor and in the washing basin still a swallowed hair with visible skin fats. We simply didn't use the glasses and cleaned the washing basin itself. The room and the bath were otherwise in a proper condition. For its purposes, you could be satisfied overall with the price-performance ratio. It is also often questioned whether everything is in order and if there are problems, it can be criticised directly.

We took a break in Deidesheim over the weekend. The hotel is located on the edge of Deidesheim, directly in the wine mountains. We were very friendly at the reception. Our room was very clean and spacious. The bed (double bed Queensize) was very comfortable, so we have been very well sleeping. The bathroom with shower and toilet was also very clean. The breakfast buffet does not leave any wishes open, the selection is very good. There was a large selection of fresh breads just in the fresh breads. There is also a beautiful wellness area with sauna. The hotel is especially suited for walking and biking in the beautiful chair. The numerous wine goods are also worth a visit (wein sample and purchase). We're happy to come back. A highlight of the hotel is an old music box that works and provides beautiful songs. We'll come back.

Check in was very quick by friendly staff members. Our spa appointments were ready for us as well. We had an upgraded room so there was a separate living room as well as the bedroom. The bath was on the small side. For dinner if you stay in the hotel on a Sunday evening, there is the buffet but you can also have just a main course from the hot items table for a lower price. There is plenty of seating in the dining area and outdoor seating under umbrellas is available, weather permitting. The buffet breakfast is extensive including a wide variety of both hot and cold foods. The spa is lovely and our massages were very nice. There is a large parking structure in the rear of the property and it has many, many electric charging stations. It is quite a distance to get into the hotel and to your room, particularly with luggage. It's an easy walk into town. The staff was excellent at every turn.

We have visited this hotel many times. This was the first time after the pandemic. Staff was very welcoming and frinedly as usual. They really make the difference. Although the rooms could need AC, they have everythin you need. The outside of the hotel was completely renovated! Looking forward coming back!

We travelled to Ludwigshafen for business and looked for hotels near to the work premises, unfortunately the 'Excelsior Hotel' was first in the list. At only 90 euros a night (including breakfast) it is no doubt a 'budget' option, but it isn't budget in the respect of a Travelodge or Premier Inn, instead it's a lost hotel in a pretty unpleasant area which has been left to decay. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station, graffiti-covered walls surround the hotel, and the first impression of the hotel visually is not a positive one, it's hard to even find the way in, amongst scaffolding and concrete jungle. At night, it's a fairly unsafe-feeling area, with people 'hangin around' looking suspicious. The one positive aspect upon booking was the 'Skybar', however digging deeper into reviews, it's clear that it's been closed long before the 'pandemic', infact 4 years ago, and upon arrival we were informed that it's still closed with no future planned. There is no restaurant onsite, nor bar besides a mini-fridge sat on the reception desk with a few bottles of beer available. Upon check-in, I was also asked for my 'date of birth' and home address, which often feels irrelevant, I refused to give such details. Once in the room, via the lift which takes about 5 minutes to arrive and to move, there's no air conditioning which during 32c weather was painful, but fortunately there was a fan. The room size isn't bad at all and the bed was comfortable, but the presentation of the room, as a new guest, wasn't considerate. A pile of electrical extension and cables was next to my bed, not tucked away out of sight. The internet connection was virtually useless in the afternoon/evenings after guests start to utilise it, I resorted to using mobile data instead. There are balconies, but they're just concrete and far from cosy, although the view over the city isn't at all bad. There is no furniture and in addition from a security aspect someone could easily go from their balcony to yours, therefore always be sure to lock and chain the balcony door when not in the room, or at night. At night, you can hear noise from neighbouring rooms, above, below and to the sides, I am also fairly sure that I had 3 'bed-bug' bites from my two night stay at the hotel. Breakfast was included in my 90 euro rate and the breakfast restaurant isn't bad, the service is friendly but the choice is limited, a few cold options and minimal hot options, no bacon or sausages unfortunately. It was a little off-putting to see mouse-traps being laid around the restaurant while I was sat trying to enjoy my meal. While away from the hotel, I left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door, despite this upon return later that afternoon the cleaner had been into the room and cleaned, this is not acceptable when the message is clearly made that the room should not be disturbed.
