My wife and I stayed at Villa Oasis in March, during Pi Mai (Lao New Year). We stayed twice, for a total of almost two weeks. We loved it. The villa complex is built alongside a swampy little lagoon (with no mosquitos, surprisingly), just a 10 minute walk from Phousi Hill, Sisavangvong Street, and the Luang Prabang Night Market. We chose it because Villa Oasis (and nearby Villa Mahasok) are two of the only mid-range hotels near the Old Quarter that have pools. As it happened, Luang Prabang experienced a heat wave in March 2023, so we were exceptionally glad we had the pool to cool off in. The villa is very close to a supermarket, there are many cheap restaurants close by, and you are only a 10 minute walk from the tourist night market, with lots of eating and drinking options. Two Little Birds cafe is only 5 minutes walk and has fantastic smoothie bowls. The rooms were comfortable, with traditional wood decor and small balconies. Breakfast in the open air restaurant was predictable but good. The villa offers free bicycles, which is handy if you want to get to the main restaurant and bar area of the Old Quarter, on the mid section of Sisavangvong Street, or to the restaurants along the Mekhong riverbank. Easily the best thing about Villa Oasis was its staff, who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They were absolutely lovely and would do everything possible to make your stay more comfortable. They were quick to arrange airport transfers, taxis, train tickets, river boat tickets, or anything else needed. Nicest was the complimentary refreshing fresh fruit juice that would magically appear in your room or delivered to you poolside when you arrived back from exploring Luang Prabang.

We spent 3 nights in this small hotel. The rooms are correct, clean but very spacious. The staff is very nice and despite the language barrier, try to satisfy us as best as possible. We have to order the evening if we want eggs. Otherwise we are a group of 12 people, the only on the hotel, and a certain lack of organisation despite the good will of the hotel. This trip to Laos was very enjoyable and I chose to stay in a Mekong River themed hotel. The beautiful scenery by the river will be unforgettable for a long time. Our two elderly people were introduced to Luang Prabang by our daughter and booked this hotel, RELAXFUL HOTEL, which is located on the bank of the Mekong River and less than two kilometers from the city center. We spent four days and three nights in a leisurely and comfortable stay. We moved to room 104 on the first floor, which is 38 square meters. It is very quiet and is not affected by the noise of the air conditioner outdoor unit. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas, and the shower hot water and air conditioning are also very powerful. It is very close to the restaurant, swimming pool and front desk, and the WIFI signal is still good. The swimming pool is not big but the water is clean and warm. The hotel provides free pick-up and drop-off stations, free breakfast is light and affordable, and there is freshly ground coffee. You can also enjoy lunch and dinner a la carte in the restaurant. Go to the city center to visit, participate in charity activities, and visit the morning and night markets. The hotel will use purple and cool electric cars for free pick-up and drop-off, which makes you feel at home! The hotel owner Yao is a Chinese born in the 1980s in his thirties. He enthusiastically and carefully helped us to develop a tour plan, exchange foreign currency, contact car rental, and buy return tickets. He also helped to exchange the excess foreign currency. He also helped us to set the menu, help us to send local voice phrases one by one and mark them in Chinese for us to use when we go out. The hotel staff also speaks Chinese, which makes communication very convenient. The service is warm, considerate and thoughtful. The deepest impression is that the front desk, guest room, restaurant staff and management staff, including staff of various types of work, are all well-mannered and very polite to guests. It is worth mentioning that when visiting the Royal Palace Museum, my husband's newly bought Zulijian elderly shoes were taken away by someone who liked them (the museum needs to be visited barefoot, and the shoes are taken off and placed at the door). When the hotel manager Yao knew about it, he immediately helped us communicate. When he learned that the museum was powerless, he immediately sent a car to bring a pair of slippers to take us back to the hotel. Must be a five-star rating! I strongly recommend RELAKFUI HOTEL when going to Laos! Take this opportunity to complain about the filling of the entry and exit forms of Laos. You will fill it out incorrectly no matter how you do it. Finally, I understand the ultimate meaning of the customs officers' denial: you have to pay 10 yuan or 60,000 Laotian krona. In total, Laos, as a country, collects these two fees from tens of millions of Chinese tourists who travel in and out of the country. The cumulative amount is quite considerable in a year. No wonder it is so shameless to cover up. As a Chinese citizen, you can choose not to travel to Laos, or choose the Belt and Road Initiative to support Laos' economic development, which is to help ourselves. Just prepare the two sums of money and let them stamp them happily, or give you a blank entry and exit form with a stamp. Don't embarrass the Laotian customs officers.

I stayed here for one night as part of a larger Lao road trip. Having been constructed in 1937 during the French Colonial period, the building (house number 323), is a UNESCO-protected heritage site. Beautiful local hardwood is used throughout the structure and adds a level of charm that many other accommodations lack. The room was clean, large, well-appointed, and comfortable. The hot water, refrigerator, air-conditioning, and wi-fi worked well. The bedding, linen, pillows, towels, etc. were in good condition. I paid $27 USD per night on hotels.com, apparently, the walk-in rate for this same period is $26 USD per night. This is a fair price for this style of budget accommodation. I would stay here again for sure.

We have just spent 4 fantastic nights at Liberty Place. The owners are so so lovely and friendly, they can’t do enough for you. The rooms are lovely and spacious. We had our breakfast on the balcony outside which was nicely set out and decorated. The location is great right in the centre of Luang Prabang, near to the night markets and not far from the Mekong River. We did not use the bicycles however they are free to use and we used their laundry service which was done very quickly. They helped us with a situation one of our friends were in and helped book a tuk tuk when they were lost near the waterfalls without any transport. They went above and beyond to help get our friends back to their hostel when they had no way of getting back! We booked our train tickets to Vang Vieng through the guesthouse. Great price and extremely helpful. There were also other tickets, tours and trips that could also be booked as well. We would highly recommend Liberty Place for anyone travelling to Luang Prabang and we would certainly stay again.

The hotel staff took the initiative to contact us one day in advance and arranged a pick-up service for us. It was so warm and awesome👍. The hotel looked very luxurious as soon as we entered. It was probably a local five-star hotel (I heard that Laos was very backward before I came here) and it was much better than I expected✌. I heard that the hotel owner is a thumbs up for our Chinese compatriots who are working hard overseas! Support!

I'm glad that the toilet and shower are separate. The room was clean and I liked the calming design with plenty of natural wood. The location is less than 5 minutes walk from the night market and about 100 meters from the Mekong River. It is located in a very convenient location in the center of the tourist area. The front desk staff was also very nice! I would like to take care of you again.
