Felt like second class citizens We book a long weekend at llanryan through groupon which was a reasonable price, we always check the terms and conditions prior to booking and it clearly says Full Breakfast and £3 extra if you want Wi-Fi which is fine. We booked this about 3 months prior to going and found out it was also the National Firework Championship as well which was a bonus. We arrived at the Guest House to be greeted by the owner John and thought it was a very frosty welcome and shoved us a groupon laminated sheet with all the extras (this was not on the groupon listing) and was sent to our room without anything said. The laminate says you get cereals, toast, coffee and tea, 1 x egg, 1 x sausage, 1 x bacon, fried bread and beans, ANYTHING EXTRA IS 50p AN ITEM. So we assumed like a sausage or bacon would be 50p extra. Also we would be charged £1 extra for Tea and Coffee for refills in our room and £1.50 extra per fresh towel during our whole stay. (WOW!!) These extras were not listed in the Groupon advert at all. Now for the interesting bit, we visited the guest house with some friends who had booked the hotel via a well know online booking company, so we asked to sit together. This was very embarrassing for us as because they had booked via another way and we had a groupon deal, we were treated completely differently. 1. Our friends were welcomed with a very nice conversation about everything they offered in the hotel and surrounding areas 2. Now this was a shock, their breakfast had all the works including Hash Browns, Extra Sausages and also believe it or not, better bigger and more expensive sausages. (This was embarrassing and made us look like second class citizens) to have to sit and look at our friends have a better breakfast. Their booking also stated a full breakfast (exactly the same wording as ours) They were not charged any extra for towels They were not charged for extra Tea and Coffee in their room. Over the weekend the hotel was busy but our friends and us stayed on until the Tuesday and we were the only Guests in the hotel. I went to have a shower at 5pm on Monday and the owner had turned off the hot water to save money, we complained to John and was told it would take an hour to warm back up which would be too late to get ready as we had a show booked, you don’t expect for no hot water in the early afternoon and was so shocked, we had no sorry or apology from them about the water and try to blame it on the heating engineer which apparently came that day, even though we never saw anyone all day when we were back and forth. Now I was very disgruntled about the shower and also no apology, to add injury to insult, on the last morning we picked up two Brioche Rolls for our Journey home, (just like everyone else did in a morning) and we were stopped on the way out and was asked for a £1 for them (wow was totally shocked) as our friends also had some and was not chased due to them not booking via Groupon.
