Hotels Near Brussels-South Railway Station in Brussels

What a great value. This hotel has everything you would expect from a much more expensive hotel. The rooms were very nice. The staff was perfect. The breakfast was awesome. The location is a good/bad situation. It is very close to the midi station. It is an easy walk everyday to catch the train to go explore. However, because it’s close to the station you get some of the downside. The area is dirty. We never felt unsafe walking around though.

We stayed here for one night while travelling by train from Ostend to London. The hotel is situated opposite the Gare de Midi in an 'edgy' part of the city which felt very intimidating particularly later in the day - there were numerous inebriated people and beggars around. The road outside the hotel is very busy. Check-in was friendly and efficient. We had a room on the 4th floor. There is one small lift to all floors which is insufficient for the size of hotel. Our room was very small - barely enough room to walk around the double bed and to include a suitcase.- strangely the bathroom had plenty of room. There was a disproportionately large TV dominating the room. The big window opened fully onto courtyards that had decades worth of building material dumped in them - but, on the upside , there was no street noise at all. The air-conditioning was barely able to keep the room cool, so the opening window was needed. The breakfast area was equally undersized with far too many guests crammed in a small area all getting in the way of the staff doing their best to try to keep the room tidy. The breakfast was best described as 'adequate' - certainly nothing special, and definitely not relaxing. The price is set by the location of this hotel close to the main international rail station, but for the size of the room, and the unpleasant area outside, coupled with the mediocre breakfast - the price we paid was far too high.

Definitely not for the faint hearted. Was a one night stop so we survived. Area was not great but convenient for train station. However this is not my main gripe Firstly the room smelt absolutely appallingly. Strange musk like cigarettes and damp combined. Secondly some of the lights did not work. Thirdly the air conditioning began to leak water all over my bags. And finally got awoken at 7:30am from labourers working inside the hotel drilling banging and hammering away

I spent two nights at the Mercure hotel near Brussels midi station, so that I could be close to the conference I was attending nearby. Hotel faces an enormous building site. This isn’t too much of a problem as I couldn’t see much actual work taking place, but it is an enormous project and one would think that this could be quite noisy. The area surrounding the hotel is not great. I already knew this, but I would suggest if you’re a tourist, ignore the proximity to the station and find somewhere nicer. The building itself is fine. The reception was excellent and check-in was seamless. My real issue is with the room… Whilst I accept it is clean and tidy, the bed is unbelievably uncomfortable. The mattress is absolutely no ‘give’ in it whatsoever, so much so that I had two really bad nights sleep. I also found the shower (which was clean) kept running cold when I was using it, which was extremely annoying, especially after a poor nights sleep. I payed for breakfast, which was sp**** to say the least. Very little choice. This is a fairly average business hotel and I would look elsewhere next time I was in Brussels.

Stayed here two nights in mid-January 2023. Hotel is located in a gritty area, with much construction, but just a five minute walk to the main train station, with many transit connections. It's about a 10 - 20 minute walk to various tourist sites in the city. There are convenience stores and dining options nearby. Staff was OK but not overly friendly. Single room was small, but clean and the price was fair. There was a heating/AC unit on the wall but one button was missing and it didn't appear to be working. Temp was OK. There was a small desk and chair. Shower and sink were in the room and toilet in a small closet. The window opened into a narrow ventilation shaft so it was rather dark. Wifi, lights and TV worked fine. I didn't pay for the breakfast. It wasn't great, but it did the trick.

By the renovation of the hotel, the rooms are beautiful and cozy. The cleanliness is given and the beds are comfortable. A fan stands on the room, this cools the room comfortable down. The choice of breakfast is great. However, there is a major problem, the situation. Absolutely bad. Even if it's only five minutes to the center, we have decided to drive with Uber. Because people in the neighborhood are very aggressive and would not hesitate to steal or threaten someone.

We were there during four nights. Cheap prices to be located in the heart of Brussels ( just 5 minutes away from City Center) close to restaurants and train station. Easyly located on Google Maps. Wifi and an other amenities provided. The room was very tidy and clean with a very confortable bed. 0 noisy, and the space it's ok for two people. Staff was so kind and polite, specially the Spanish guy. It's a low cost hotel but feels like 4 star by far. During your stay you have a right to one-room cleaning service, otherwise you have to pay 15 euros so be smart and ask for that service in the middle of your stay. 2 hour hair-dryer free service and vending machine at main floor. I would highly recommend this hotel so far. Our next trip around Europe will be in EasyHotel

I stayed here with colleagues 3 times in 8 days. The first visit I was greeted by a most friendly, understanding, humorous and friendly man who could not have made the process any better. The second visit the man hadn't a smile or any warmth in his greeting. The third time possibly due to my colleague and I trying to discuss that we didn't like having to run the gauntlet of smokers outside the only entrance and it being enclosed on 3 sides we were met with distain, sarcasm, sideways looks between colleagues and frank rudeness. There was no attempt to even try to apologise, quiet the opposite in fact being told that ”it's outside so doesn't matter!” Customer service needs attention. Rooms clean, needs comfy, breakfast adequate. Restaurant available in the next door Ibis standard hotel. Staff here very pleasant. Food below average. Position was great for our needs. Plenty of car parking. Pay at reception for parking of you require a receipt otherwise the barrier doesn't give you one and you have to go back to reception to request one to be emailed to you.

The hotel is very good and very good quality when it comes to a novel. The very modern room, the litter is perfect, a beautiful and modern bathroom, only a small bemol, the rest of the old occupants soap. Very large television with a lot of French-speaking chain. Heating nothing to signal, a little too noisy yet.
