The hotel facilities are a bit old. When booking a room, I didn't pay attention to the difference between random room types, which refer to smoking and non-smoking. I arrived late and stayed in a smoking room. Both of us had coughs in our throats and didn't sleep well all night. The purifier didn't work, and the smell was just smoke. Alas! However, the small bathhouse downstairs is very good, the hotel is close to the subway, and the front desk service is very good, although the room is not very satisfactory. Everyone must pay attention to choosing a non-smoking room~

From the entrance to the inn, I was able to have a luxurious experience in a historic townscape that was beyond my imagination. The room is clean and I am very satisfied! In addition, when using the lounge, the hospitality of the staff was excellent, offering fragrant tea and alcohol, and we were able to have fun conversations. They gave me a lot of suggestions to make my stay in Kyoto wonderful, and it was fun! The service was excellent, with alcohol being brought to your room instead of just in the lounge. thank you.

Very good design hotel, beyond expectations, the room is very large in Japan, the design is very strong, each house is different, the color is different, and the designer is very careful and the details are in place. The service is also very good, the breakfast is very exquisite, even the mother is full of praise. Completely exceeded our expectations. Will book this next time. Good location

Although the room is not big and not very new, the service and cleanliness are good. The transportation is very convenient. It is just across the road from Kyoto Station. There is a big Don Quixote cosmetics store next to it. I bought too much and couldn't carry it. I could send it to the post office, but I finally learned that the hotel has a service of express delivery to the airport, so I went to the front desk of the hotel to mail it. The hotel also provides free cocktails and bathing services. It is worth mentioning that it is very close to the airport bus and you can buy tickets in advance. Overall, it is very comfortable and satisfactory.

The hotel is not far from Kyoto Station. It is a Japanese-style hotel. When checking in, the lady at the front desk will give a comprehensive introduction to the use and precautions of various things, and there is no problem in English. There is a rental service at the front desk. The convenience store did not give me chopsticks and spoons, so I borrowed them from the front desk. The room is quite large, and there is a TV to watch. The air conditioner is not very effective at heating, but the quilt is thick enough. Sencha bags and senbei are given for you to eat.

Hotel Material was a great value stop in our tour of Japan. We stayed for 2 nights as a family of four and it provided everything we needed. The bunks were large and ample for even adults. The sunken king bed was unusual, but easily the largest bed I slept in in Japan and well worth the investment. The shower was also excellent with both great water pressure and was tall enough to accommodate me at 6ft without sitting, a first for me here. The room was clean and well presented and even came with some games to occupy the kids. The staff weee helpful and happy to look after our bags before check in. The hotel also has a lovely roof terrace available which we weren’t expecting.

The place that left my first trip to Kyoto as a happy memory until the end I will bring good memories with me whenever I remember Kyoto. The well-organized and tidy feeling makes you comfortable from entering the hotel to leaving. It blends Japan's past and present well, giving it a unique and sophisticated feel. Hinoki bathtub and plenty of warm water It relieved the regret of a ryokan that I had not experienced on this trip. It is recommended that you try the breakfast you ate every morning. The menu, which used to be Korean food, was changed to a buffet format. The food is unusual and unique. I'm very satisfied ^^ I'm going back after getting along well with the warm consideration and help of all the staff. Due to old facilities, the air conditioner did not work on the day we checked in. But the service was OK. Because the room was fully booked that day, we immediately changed to a room of the same level, and arranged an upgraded room the next day. But the only drawback was that I found blood stains on the sheets in the room, and asked the waiter to change the sheets, which made me sleep very late. The atmosphere and breakfast of the hotel are impeccable, and the service is also good.

The hotel environment is very beautiful. The lobby is very nice. The front desk staff was very friendly and spoke fluent English. The welcome snacks are delicious and feel very warm. The room is absolutely spacious and can accommodate a lot of luggage. The nearby bus station is very convenient for going to nearby attractions in Kyoto, but it is far from the subway station.

JJarl SolangeThe service at this hotel is famous: everyone seems happy to see you. The location is also very good, close to the station but not so close as to feel busy. But what I really liked was the breakfast, which I found exquisite. I definitely recommend this hotel.

YYI HUEYThe accommodation experience in the townhouse is really authentic. The house is beautiful and very comfortable as soon as you enter the house. No matter how you take photos there, it is very interesting. We were very satisfied with the food at the hotel because we have family members who don’t eat beef. Although the hotel couldn’t do it at first, they were willing to communicate and let us choose different foods. Thank you very much!

독락당The Pocket Hotel offers a no-frills experience at a reasonable price. The room is just large enough to accomodate the futon you are given to sleep on and a little more. For people who need a bed to sleep, I definitely would not recommend this location. That said, I would say the room has everything on might need for a good night's sleep. The air conditioner is perfectly functional, a necessity in Kyoto's sweltering summers. Additionally, the limited space definitely means that accomodating guests with gargantuan suitcases is probably not possible. The washroom, while well furnished and perfectly serviceable, is public and located outside of one's room and is accessed by the same key card as the one used for one's room. In addition, the shower, located on the first floor for men and second for women, is also public use and accessed in the same way as the washroom. That said, the showers are split into individual rooms, so I would suggest one is offered more than sufficient privacy despite its public nature. If these minor inconveniences are unacceptable for you, this hotel is not the right one for you. As for the hotel's location, the hotel is fairly well positioned to go see Kiyomizudera and is a short walk from the subway. In addition, there are a number of great restaurants in the vicinity. In particular, there is a great abundance of ramen restaurants so it could be decent location to stop by to sample a number of different bowls. Between Daikoku Ramen, Ramen Rin, Ramen Yokozuna, Ginjo Ramen Kubota, and New Taihou, I enjoyed my daily dose of noodles for sure. It is also worth noting that there is a convenience store across the street and a pharmacy a little down the street. The pharmacy is a great place to pick up 2L bottles of drinks, but be warned that they might not be refrigerated. It's also worth noting that there is a Yoshinoya, McDonald's, and Yayoi Ken nearby so if you ever feel the need for a quick meal, it can easily me solved at a moment's notice. Overall, I would say this hotel is not one to stay at for the hotel experience, but rather as an option simply have a place to rest with proper privacy.

LLi Ing Sheryl LeeWe like how the check in was done through an automated system which was easy to use. A staff is nearby to help if help is ever needed. The hotel also offer amenities in the lobby for guests to self-help which even include facial products like make-up remover and masks. The hotel room was clean and beds were comfortable. The pillows provided are of 2 intensities - hard and soft so that guests can choose to use whichever work for them. Sufficient space in the hotel room. The service staff are always smiling and pleasant to talk to. When I called the front desk to check if I could borrow their travel adaptor and I offered to go down to collect from them. The front desk helped to deliver it up to my room in less than 5min. I really appreciate their effort. All in all, this hotel is very efficient and we enjoyed our stay.

CCkyankcTitle: An Extraordinary Stay at an Exquisite Kyoto Gem Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of staying at a truly remarkable hotel in Kyoto, and I can confidently say that my experience was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I stepped foot into this elegant establishment until the day of my departure, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, the hotel's location was simply perfect. It provided easy access to some of the city's most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions, ensuring that I could explore the beauty of Kyoto with utmost convenience. Whether it was the majestic Kinkaku-ji Temple or the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, everything was within reach, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the city's rich heritage. The hotel's architecture and interior design were a true reflection of Kyoto's aesthetic beauty. The moment I entered the lobby, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and harmony. The attention to detail was impeccable, with traditional Japanese elements seamlessly integrated into the contemporary design. The serene garden views from the common areas only added to the overall charm and provided a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city. The staff members at the hotel were the epitome of hospitality. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their genuine smiles and willingness to assist with any request created a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Their knowledge of the local area and recommendations for sightseeing and dining were invaluable, enabling me to make the most of my time in Kyoto. The room I stayed in was a haven of luxury and elegance. Immaculately clean and tastefully decorated, it exuded a sense of serenity that allowed me to unwind after a day of exploration. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the comfortable bedding to the carefully curated amenities.

PPOCHENGThe hotel is close to Karasuma-oike station. However, if you have a luggage, it is easier to exit by elevator from Exit 5 and cross the road to the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Space is decent for a family of 3. We also liked that they have a common place at the lobby where we can eat or snack. They also offer coffee, water and other amenities (toothbrush, cotton buds, face wash etc) too.

Wwei.yThe location is good. The breakfast 90% same for continuous 2 days. Room is slightly small but there is a two pax couch and a small movable table which i feel very convenient. The only downside is there is a non local that can speak english guide us when we do check in. I book the hotel 4 months ago and been try to write in and text the hotel requested my parents room and my room need to be same floor so that it is easy got me to take care of two old folks that dont know how to speak neither english or japanese. However when do check in they assign us different floor and the staff told me that is it subject to availability which i dont agree with him. After sometime he agree try to change a room for me and my parents room just 3 room beside me!!!

GGuest UserVery polite and helpful staff. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The breakfast was ok and they offered both japanese and continental options. The standard rooms on the 2nd floor had no view as there was a large wall in front of the window so i would definitely not recommend this option. The premium rooms are on higher floors and offer better view, if that is what you are going after. Overall it was a comfortable and clean place to stay for a few nights

AAhmet ZekiDear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards. Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards. Best regards,
