"We are glad that we booked this hotel. The beach view was breathtaking and remarkable. Not to mention its excellent location where the old town cobbled street is just right in front of the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast where they offered great selections and indeed one of the best breakfasts we've tried in our Portugal trip. Hotel staff were mostly friendly, especially those in the restaurant, except for the housekeeping staff who refused to give us extra drinking water on the next morning even before we checked out."

"This place has polarizing reviews.. After going there, I understand why. The facilities and services are good. You can use the swimming pool, washer and dryer (performance is poor), sauna and spa for free, and although the building structure is unique (1st and 8th floor reception, 2 elevator transfers, etc.), it's okay if you get used to it. We couldn't find the way by taxi, so we climbed the hill with our suitcases, but the reception on the first floor is near the spar mart. They were friendly, but the air conditioner was broken so I called twice and they didn't come so I just gave up. This place is in the middle of the old town, so I actually made a reservation based on the location, but it's literally in the middle of the club street, so even if you're inside the accommodation, you'll be staying at the concert hall all night long. There's no soundproofing, so you have to enjoy it together until 5 a.m. The noise is another level, as foreign reviews say. I’m traveling around the world, but this place is really ambiguous haha. The breakfast isn’t bad, but it’s just ambiguous… . Personally, I think it would be less noisy and better if it wasn't just in this alley because it's Albupay!!"

"Qualidade do serviço é fraca, exceto recepção e bar (funcionários que estão presentes no pequeno almoço facilmente esquecem-se do que o cliente solicita) As instalações necessitam de restauro (edifício, elevador, esperguiçadeiras, kitchinet, etc.). Não oferecem opções para pessoas com intolerância à lactose, mesmo tendo requisitado com antecedência, exceto leite. Estadia ficou muito aquém das expetativas. Necessitam melhorar muito."

"Great location. 15min walk from the ***** and 10 mins drive from old town. Everything was great in the hotel, rooms look great. Although we did have strong smoking smell come into our room a few nights even though balcony doors shut. The only problem I had was with the breakfast. Having allergies and dietary requirements were not really accommodated. Majority of the foods had egg in them. I emailed in about this before the stay but nothing was sorted out. I emailed a list of foods i can eat. I was also told halal food will be provided for me from the 3rd day with more variety for me. However I received no halal food/meat, and got hummus every morning out of the list I provided. Not the best but I gave up and stuck to just having potatoes and beans on bread every morning. They did bring everything from the back every morning which is a plus I guess. A couple of wrong recommendations about money exchange from reception too. Otherwise really good hotel."

"It is a very familiar and quiet hotel, a lot of English tourism, there are no animations or anything for young people, I do not recommend it for young people, in terms of food very little variety, and repeated meals, I must also say that there is a lot of cleanliness, but that yes, be careful where you book because I booked the all-inclusive here and it turns out that if you don't book through the hotel's official website you don't get all the drinks, I don't know why... the truth is that for a 5-star hotel it leaves a lot to be desired!"

"if I will be in Alvarge again, W Algarve will definitely be the reason. Stunning property, superb services especially the housekeeping team, they “secretly” cleaned up our room while we go for breakfast/ dinner. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great, in-room dining was delicious, dinner was exceptional - lucky enough to enjoy live music during sunset - magical. Very much up to the brand standard. Thank you W Algarve."

"At best its a 4star property. During our stay hotel wasnt at its best, so ill put 3.5 stars. Hotel entrance looks like a train station waiting room. For a moment we thought that we are underground as its dark everywhere inside the hotel. Toilets were smelly on the entrance ground, Windows were cleaned on Christmas last year i think. Dirty floors. Rooms are dingy, but spacious.. Lots of cupboard space. you cant use the mirrors in bath area as its too dark. Water in Toilet bowl keeps on going unless you fiddle with the push buttons. TV Remote was filthy. Towels are from the 10th century, use with care! Toiletries are basic brands, nothing oo la la! Breakfast is good, not excellent. Theres a live station for omelettes and pancakes. Coffee from nescafe machines with pods, again not very 5 star standard. Stay here if you have a good price deal but not high expectations. DO NOT EXPECT 5 STAR SERVICE! You have been warned."

"It takes about 5-10 minutes to drive to the beach and the central area. There is a supermarket nearby. The location is very convenient and quiet. The hotel facilities and services are very complete. I recommend this place. In addition, the price is very cheap. It is the most comfortable place I have lived in Portugal."
