Overall, it was pretty good. The room was spacious enough, and the lake view room offered an excellent vista. Service was decent too. However, the hairdryer definitely needed a clean. The Intai Royal Spa deal, at 480 RMB per person after a 200 RMB discount, felt a bit underwhelming. The bridge-noodle soup at the Chinese restaurant was delicious, but the black pepper beef was too salty; other dishes were quite good. Compared to guesthouses in the same price range (which are actually more expensive), I'd strongly recommend staying at a branded chain hotel. Next time I'm in Dali, I'm skipping guesthouses entirely and sticking to star-rated brand hotels.
