Key West Inn

It’s dated, but a clean property. Staff is great. They still allow some rooms to be designated as smoking and that is the smell when you first enter, but my room was okay.

My gf and I knew something was wrong when we were given a TV remote with our room key. The lobby stank of cigarettes as though someone had been actively smoking in there. The room was...well, it probably was clean but it looked seedy and utterly uninviting. The bed was like a beacon of everything undesirable in the middle of the room, neither of us wanted to touch it. The thought of sleeping in it, even in our clothes, was too much. You have to call from the front desk to get someone to come to it, so we just walked back out without speaking to anyone, forfeited our money and drove 20 mins to pay only $6 more for a room at a hotel that couldn't have been more different. I think that this was as much my fault as anyone else's, I suspect that this place is used as social housing or for people who rent rooms by the hour as opposed to by the night, but to call it a hotel seems a bit of a stretch, and to charge 'full rate' (around $100) is just a joke. Sadly I fell for it.

I was under the impression that there would be daily housekeeping which there wasn’t. Not one day during my stay. I will be staying again next week as well only because of the proximity to my work site.

The staff were very friendly & aimed to please. It's a basic hotel (no water slide, swimming pool or exercise room) but we didn't go there to be spending the day in the hotel, we had an agenda. We only wanted a basic room. They have the 1st floor for smokers and the 2nd floor is for non-smokers. We're not smokers, but the navigation of the stairs was more than my friend could take, so we didn't go to the 2nd floor. It could use some screens on the window. The ac wasn't aimed into the room, but at the fridge, so it didn't cool the room enough. Otherwise, they were making sure we were comfortable, and that the room was clean. The restaurant food was very good - we had dinner there, and I would highly recommend them. Prices were good, too.

The friendly front desk attendant and decent water pressure sums up the good about this place. Unless you truly need to stay in Devon, spend the $20 more and drive the 15km to Nisku/Leduc for a cleaner, better smelling stay.

we were evacuated from edson because of the wildfires we arrived june 9 2023 at 10 pm we were exhausted and we were greeted by tyler at front desk he was very nice and professional. i would stay here again because of the great customer service that tyler and dianne offered each and every day they both treated us like we were family . i would recomend a big raise to these two people because u can tell they really care about the guests .

About the only thing to like was that there was a bed. Noisy neighbors until about 5:30 AM next door.

No shower mat air conditioning did not work
