Personally think the room is very good, very close to the station, about 300 meters walk, breakfast needs to be paid, there are not many types but it is OK, the service staff can make steamed eggs or fried eggs and fried bacon. Wi-Fi password is Rubus_2015! Internet connection is also available.

I stay here regularly and I find the value, the quality of the rooms, facilities and services very good for the price per night. I know that when I arrive here, a comfortable bed, a clean room with simple offerings, and a good nights rest is what is waiting for me. It isn't the Hilton, but that's not what I am expecting - easy access to work, quiet nights rest in a cosy atmosphere at an affordable price, is. Stayed in Zwiback for about a month when moved to work at Empa (and also for 2 nights in winter). It was a very good experience for both a short and long stay. The hotel is 5-10 minutes of walking from Empa and Eawag, and is very close to the 12 tram station (which takes you for ~20 min to the airport, 5 minutes to Stettbach railway station, from which you can take a train to Zurich center- just two stations). The hotel is combined with a bistro, where the hotel guests have their breakfast and also where the staff office is located. The hotel rooms are in a separate wing of the Zwiback multi-apartment building complex. The room was clean, spacious, had a balcony and also had a small fridge. [Having s small kettle in the room would make a difference, especially for colder season stays- my recommendation for the staff as a possible enhancement.] I stayed at the 5th floor, so that I had an amazing view to the mountains at a far sight. The hotel staff is very-very kind and helpful. Especially I would like to mention Daniela, Miriam and Melanie, who are absolutely amazing!!!

We were very pleased with this hotel in the traffic free Old Town of Winterthur, surrounded by shops and restaurants. We enjoyed this location as it was within a 5 minute walk of the train station, which got us to our destinations easily without the hurried bustle of Zurich (close by for a day trip). Upon registration, Melanie took us up to our room and carefully explained how everything worked and what was available in the room, including safe, fridge, very comfortable beds and a lovely modern bathroom. Since this was our first night in Switzerland, it was a very appreciated gesture. The room was nicely decorated, quiet and upscale for a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and helpful, including Nicole in the restaurant and the breakfast staff (Velspa? - sorry I did not get her name correct). We would definitely stay here again and really enjoyed the more relaxed pace of Winterthur.

The location is very good as it is near Zurich airport. Good for late night travelers However, self-check-in may be difficult for older people.

the hotel location is perfect for a short term stay. 9 minutes by bus from airport, 15 minutes to the central station Zurich Hb where you can do all your connections. And 6 minutes walking distance to Kloten train station . And calme location not very busy and noisy area. 10/10 for clean room

Everything was wonderful, the staff, the room and the view. The receptionict upgraded the number type and we had an amazing view from the balcony

With the stay in a 6-bed dorm room being just an ordinary experience, the best about this place in my opinion are outside the room and specifically the ”wide corridors” nicely spacious to walk around & the ”huge lounge” downstairs with plenty of work-spaces (big tables & chairs all around). And yes, also pretty ”nice & filling” was its buffet-styled breakfast with really a variety of items (actually food available throughout the day with lunch & dinner as well but which you have to pay for unlike the breakfast included with the stay). If coming here from the Zurich Central (HB) Station, there's the train first to Hardbrucke (just one station from HB) followed by the bus to Jugendherberge (about a 15-minute ride and getting off at the station just before its last stop of Morgental). And if going downtown from here to the area with the city's ”main churches” (Fraumunster, Grossmunster & St. Peter's), there's a tram at just about a 5-minute walk ”straight from” the front entrance (and likely at a frequent interval).
