I was very excited to finally exchange into the Tamarack Club through RCI. We love to ski at Holiday Valley which is a slope-side resort. The location can't be beat, walk out the back door and in a few steps you are at the lift. There is a ski valet where you have to leave skis and poles, but it is well staffed and easy to use. The indoor/outdoor pool and outdoor hot tub were clean and warm/hot. There is a great view of the slopes from both. Check-in was easy and the staff were very pleasant and accomodating. The resort is very clean and maintained, but everything is looking a little old and worn. Our studio unit was spacious, with a full kitchen and a lovely gas fireplace. We had a view of Holiday Valley from our balcony. There was a complimentary bottle of local wine, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the bed in our unit was very uncomfortable. There was a huge sag in the middle and my husband and I spent the night trying not to roll into/ on top of each other. Neither of us slept well while we were there and we even left a few days early because of this. In my opinion, the bed in any accommodation is the most important thing and this one was terrible. The furniture was also very worn and not super comfortable, but I could have put up with this if the bed was better. All told, this resort has great bones and an awesome location but it is in desperate need of a furniture upgrade.

We’ve been guests for several years and many friends are owners. The current management of the facility is failing miserably. The planned renovation is years behind schedule. The facilities are worn and tired. There’s always something breaking. One week it’s the hot tubs, next week it’s the elevator…… They are also short staffed in hotel operations. Other ski resorts know how to properly staff for seasonal guests…….. today there’s not enough housekeeping staff to turn rooms and do pool towels…….. Finally, the restaurant is now subbed out to Sodexo. They can’t hire/keep enough employees as well. On the busiest ski weekend of the year, they could only serve half their tables for lack of staff. 6 tables sat empty all day and evening. It’s sad because this facility is a gem and has tons of potential, just under the right management. BTW, the ski/snow operations team is top notch and nothing like the lodging side of the company.

Love the beautiful a**osphere of motel itself, nice people at the desk for checking in. Room was fairly clean. Room 420 needs a new mattress, my husband and I barley got any sleep. The mattress has a sink hole in the middle. VERY uncomfortable. We paid to SLEEP here and the mattress/bed made it impossible. Then to top it off the coffee maker is extremely old and would not brew a full put no matter what I tried and the sugar/creamer packets were so old they smelled funny. I hope these things are fixed so the next people don't pay $222.00 for only 19 hours of us , to have it be such a disappoin**ent

Let me start with that this is our 13th Year staying at the Tamarack. We have been coming since they opened and for the first 6 years everything was great! It was a new and modern place with the rustic warm feeling which made it very unique, but starting in 2017 we started noticing problems and small little things that need some fixing and updating but assumed it would be fixed and updated soon. Fast forward to 2023 the first room we were given was 319 and upon entry the smell of an ashtray hit you in the face. Some other things I noticed was one Outlet in the Kitchen was not in working condition, an outlet in the living room area was all smashed in with a bent and almost broken light plug in it as well. There was a big stain right in the middle of the carpet in the living room and all the appliances and Furniture were all original from 2009. We asked to be moved to a different room which was much better than our first. The only newer thing in the entire room was a new Sofa bed which was only a few years old. The carpets around the edges though were covered in dust, the Light above the table in the living room was covered in dead Ladybugs probably over 30 of them, and a crayon drawing was on the wall as well along with many dirt and scuff marks around the room. The Housekeeping staff need to step it up and do a better job cleaning each room and maintenance needs to step up their game too as many things are falling apart. I hate to nit pick all the flaws in the hotel but for the price that they charge for 3 nights during the summer right after the 4th of July should reflect the quality of service and the environment within the hotel. The rest of the Hotel is in pretty good shape and is mostly clean. The Pool area on the other hand (the main reason we have come all these years) is in need of desperate help. The pool its self is in Ok shape but has some dirty grime along the top of it where the water does not reach and along the part where the cover stays (which was broken as well). The Window between the outdoor part of the pool and inside was covered in grime lime scale which has been the same for years and never cleaned. The hot tubs are in good shape overall other than large cracks on the concrete above where pieces of it fall in the tubs. In prior years guests could go between the Public Pools and the Private tamarack pool through a gate using the card and could also have food delivery from John Harvards and Drinks from the Cabana bar. They have since locked the gate and will not deliver food anymore to the private pool. They Come to the gate to take orders for public pool guests but will not come to the gate and deliver food to the Guests at the Tamarack. These are just small things that are a bit annoying. We were told within the year they will be renovating the rooms with new paint, carpet and furniture, so fingers crossed that happens soon. As I said these are mostly small things but worth mentioning. The Staff at the hotel are very nice an

ALL staff were exceptionally friendly & offered good suggestions (Tara, Dawn, Sean, etal). Our corner 2 bdrm overlooking the golf course was huge, clean & comfy with everything we needed. Perhaps other prior reviewers' comments re: cleanliness were due to lack of staff during Covid? A nice welcoming surprise was a bottle of wine from Elliottville Winery we not only enjoyed on the balcony patio, but prompted a visit there for more tastings, so kudos for supporting the community. Due to our evening arrival time, their onsite restaurant John Harvard's was much appreciated & our fish dinners were both tasty. Also liked the return of complimentary coffee in the lobby to enjoy as we planned our day. Lovely grounds well kept. Didn't use the amenities, but others seemed to be enjoying immensely (pool, exercise room, etc). A very minor issue regards our being spoiled with a washer/dryer inroom in most 2bdrm unit timeshare exchanges. Didn't mind paying for the onsite laundromat, but the dryer takes more than 1 cycle, so may need replacing? We'd return in a heartbeat & learned it's much easier to book weekdays vs weekends.

The hotel itself is lovely and was clean. The rooms we had (two connecting rooms) were comfortable and had everything we needed. Showers hot; plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, etc. The kids loved the outdoor pool. The workout room, while small, had what I needed for a short circuit workout (though there were no paper towels/cleaning solution for the machines.) Unfortunately, we were placed on the 3rd floor (which is ground level) and on the front of the hotel. This meant the parking lot was right outside of our balcony and it was constantly loud. The snowplows came through the parking lot each night around 3am for about 20 mins, and it was very loud. If I were to stay here again, I'd definitely request a room on the back of the hotel or at least on a higher floor. For $1200 for two nights, not being able to sleep was a tough pill to swallow. The biggest issue we had was the fireplace in our room. *Please note, this is not to blame the hotel as this was ultimately my fault.* Just be aware that these fireplaces are *extremely* hot. We've used fireplaces like this many times and they of course have been hot, but not like this one. Unfortunately, my baby crawled right up to the fireplace and touched his hand on it faster than I could grab him. In a split second, he had blistering 2nd degree burns over his entire palm and fingers. We immediately turned off the fireplace and didn't use it during our trip, of course. I'd recommend that parents just turn it off entirely, as it was extremely hot even hours after we turned it off. We ended up blocking off the entire area with some chairs to prevent anyone from accidentally touching it. Again, ultimately our fault, but just want to sound the alarm for anyone traveling with little ones to just leave these off for the trip.

We are here now until February 24 and have come every year for the last 6 years. First, the room has wrappers under the bed and lightbulbs are out in kitchen. Second last year pool open until 11 and door to pool says 11pm but we were kicked out of the pool at 10. When I questioned the hours the girl said its been like that for years which is not true. I personally think they just wanna close things down early. We then asked for a roll away for our son at 1020pm. We were told that housekeeping left and they could not check on this. Then received a call 5 minutes later and they said they had one. Brought it up and they said the charge was $15 per night. This room is already $425 a night and they want an additional $15 nightly???? Lastly, booked this room slope side in July and was given a crappy view room. The weather is terrble and asked to change to better room and was told impossible. The place is virtually empty and they cant accomodate someone that spends thousands here yearly. This place is going down hill and needs changes. Room 419
