The Westin Excelsior, Florence

The Westin Excelsior, Florence

Florence Historic Center Florence|1km from Valle Millecampi
The hotel is located on the banks of the Arno River. The main entrance of the hotel is directly opposite the French consulate. There is a small square in front of the hotel. You can temporarily park your car temporarily and open small markets on weekends. Five minutes walk along the river bank is Uffizi Gallery, Old Bridge! The window opened in the room is directly opposite the Baihua Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, and the church can be opened to the full view of the church. The left hand old bridge and the right hand Holy Trinity Bridge, the view is excellent! The bedding is comfortable, the room area is relatively large in Italy, classical and luxurious. The only dissatisfaction was that the booking fee was clearly the money for the river view room, but the front desk said that the reservation was only for a superior room. But polite and old-fashioned at the same time, because I emphasized that if it was n’t for the river view room, there would be no meaning to live here. The front desk said that I was sorry the room was full, and I could upgrade to the river view room on the balcony of the administrative floor if I added 200 euros. After expressing dissatisfaction, I asked to wait at the front desk for a while, but also forced them to check the room again, and finally got this river-view room without replenishment! I don't know if this is the case, it is Ctrip or the hotel routine.

Hotel Torre di Bellosguardo

Gavinana - Galluzzo Florence|0.37km from Valle Millecampi
For my first visit to Florence, no other hotel would have been as special at Torre di Bellosguardo. It is the most stylish old villa, with a handsome tower dating back to Dante's time, set in glorious gardens cascading through lush terraces down the hill towards the city. The views from the top gardens and the house are spectacular, with Florence spread out below you, surrounded by the hills of Tuscany. An elegant swimming pool near the top is a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the place, well out of the noise and bustle of the crowded city, but within 15 minutes walk of the centre, through olive groves and vegetable gardens, and a 5 minute taxi ride back. The rooms of the hotel are spacious and comfortable, from its exquisitely decorated reception room, to the plant-fringed conservatory, the airy breakfast terrace, to our charming bedroom and bathroom, furnished with lovely old Tuscan furniture. We were well looked after by all the friendly staff, and Roberto in reception made us feel very welcome, researching queries online and helping us to find places in the city. Both my friend and I are keen gardeners, and we loved the beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers, each thoughtfully identified with a label! We also enjoyed a delightful conversation with Ana, wife of the owner, Amerigo, about the design and planting. Altogether, we had an unforgettable stay at Bellosguardo, and can't wait to return to it again!

First off the good this hotel is extremely unique. I love the way it’s set up. For a dirty/romantic getaway, this place could be absolutely phenomenal, the twinkle lights in the room in the mirrors on the Wall Trust me this place could be fun! We arrived in March we stayed for two nights Unfortunately in March there is no AC in the hotel. The heater was stuck on in the bathroom and at night the temperature got to 33° We open the window for the brisk, nightmare and in came thousands of mosquitoes… definitely not the hotels fault but a screen over the window would’ve elevated our experience a great deal. Unfortunately my son is covered in mosquito bites from head to toe and I had a less severe reaction, but I also slept with a sheet over my head The hotel gracefully Sprayed our rooms the next day to get rid of the mosquitoes which worked But unfortunately on the last of us day, we slept with the windows open, and it was unbearably hot. The bar downstairs was well stocked and very expensive and the local economy you can buy a bottle of Jameson for €20 in unfortunately one double cost exactly the same. I would’ve happily drank whiskey there all night long and have a great time but it was just a little too expensive if you stay there bring your own alcohol you’ll need it for the temperatures in the room. To be honest, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful to Black walls of the hallways were unique. Very nice hotel, but like I said some screens on the rooms and some creative pricing at the bar would’ve made this a five star steak

We stayed two nights in this b&b located just outside the ztl area. A few hundred meters away is the bus stop to reach the historic center. All close to the convenient bakery where you can make breakfast. The room is spacious, clean and functional. Stefano, the owner, welcomed us at the arrival, even late, and proved ready to provide information and suggestions for the stay, and allowed us to leave the baggage in the facility on the day of departure. So, kindness and comfort, and then, very recommended!

Stayed here over a long weekend in February. The hotel is a fabulous hidden gem in such quiet surrounding in what can be a very busy city and still only a short walk from the historic city centre...probably 15 minutes. The staff at reception were wonderful, warm and welcoming....in fact all the staff we came into contact with were the same, amazing people! A very special mention to Alessio behind the bar in the lounge. Alessio is such a fantastic asset to the hotel. Alessio's breadth of knowledge about the area, the hotel and his overall approach in taking time to interact with guests is truly outstanding. Stuck for choice of beer, wine or cocktail...then speak with Alessio! Thankyou Alessio for making our stay at this wonderful hotel so extra special. Great choice of local restaurants close by as well and we thank the hotel for recommending Il Guscio which was just yards away...an amazing place to eat. Another stunning restaurant just around the corner was Gune an unbelievable place. Our room at this hotel was great, very clean and bright and faced on to a garden area which catches the sun....fantastic to sit here with a coffee. Breakfast was great, no complaints whatsoever and the team at breakfast again gave us a warm morning welcome. We cannot rate this hotel highly enough and will be returning...thankyou so much Hotel Horto Convento for a fantastic experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

From the moment Leonardo open the gate to let us in to the Garden to park our car to the moment we left this a wonderful experience. The Hotel is situated in the owners private garden and although you not allowed into the actual garden’s they provide a great location for this hotel. The location is near enough to Florence for easy access but far enough away to provide a little oasis of calm. The staff were very friendly and helpful , we stay in a room with a private balcony which gave us great views over the garden. I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting Florence.

Youth Firenze 2000

Isolotto - Legnaia
Review of Hotel Firenze 2000 which also goes by Youth Hotel Firenze 2000. WARNING! Do not go to this “hotel”! I travel around the world and stay in hotels of various star ratings but I have never stayed in a hotel as bad as this one. Where shall I begin? It is a 2-star hotel, so my expectations were not high. I wanted clean and safe. To begin with, I was required to wire transfer from the bank the entire amount of the hotel stay, including the taxes. I reserved 7 rooms for 12 people. The cost was the same as the 4-star hotels, but I couldn’t get 7 rooms. Then, as I requested that 6 of the rooms have twin beds instead of one larger one, I was charged an extra $50 per night, per room. That was a total of $600 for 2 nights. (I was charged in Euros but it was similar to dollars.) When we arrived, we saw that all of the beds in all of the rooms were twin beds. Some were pushed together to make a larger bed. When I complained, I was told that some of the rooms were upgraded. The upgrade was 2 twin beds pushed together and a cot as the second bed. If you are required to stay at this hotel, do not pay extra for twin beds. It is all they have! I asked for the $600 back because they were all twin beds but was told no. By the way, they were all hard as a rock and looked like they were from the 1960s child’s bedroom and well worn. The tile floors looked stained with dirt. One of the rooms had a shower that had black mold around the bottom edges of the shower. The people in that room thought it was safer to just not shower. When I brought it to the attention of Aldo, who I believe is the manager, he said it is the silicone. I told him that silicone is not black and that it is mold. He claimed to not understand what I was saying. The mold was around the whole bottom perimeter of the shower. His response is that this is the best 2-star hotel. Nope! We proceeded to the next room where the toilet would not properly flush. He took the lid of the tank off and said it is broke and just take the tank lid off to flush. I told his that this was unacceptable but was told there was nothing he could do. Another incident occurred in the middle of the night. There was a room in the hotel with a crying child and a barking dog, apparently without an adult. I didn’t find out about this until the next day from the people in that hallway who were kept up for hours. I don’t know why the hotel staff didn’t contact the police and let this persist for hours but it ruined the next day for many people because they were exhausted. There is not an elevator so be aware that you will have to carry your luggage up the stairs. Some rooms have no windows. When asked twice to call taxis, each time it was a challenge. I don’t know if it was the system they use but I didn’t have any trouble in any other areas. I asked for two large taxis about 1 hour before we needed them but they didn’t call them until we needed to leave and then proceeded to tell me it was the taxi company’s fault. We had to
