This place is awesome! Stayed in the Holly Rock Treehouse. Perfect for 2 people. Swinging bridge, hot tub and all the amenities. Out in the middle of the woods up in a tree! Absolutely perfect setting.

Our stay at Country road cabins was wonderful. The cabin was clean and the beds were comfortable. The jacuzzi was amazing and we felt surrounded by nature. When we had a problem with the grill, they ordered a new grill for the cabin. Kind people and weekly Managed.. Highly recommend to travelers who want to enjoy the area around nature in new river gorge, West Virginia

Please read entire review and make an informed decision. I’ll start at the beginning. We arrived Tuesday, Nov. 22 around 5:15. We rented the Tuscany Treehouse for 3 nights. Upon arrival everything appeared to be in order and well taken care of. The unit is small, but has everything you might need outside of an oven. The location is great for access to the national park, Babcock State Park, and Hawks Nest State Park (all beautiful places to visit and hike). Some things to think about and a HUGE unacceptable for $200/night. The treehouse is accessible by a narrow swinging bridge. It’s very cool unless you have any mobility issues. Also note, the treehouse is NOT welcoming for any mobility issues. The bathroom and bedroom would be very difficult to navigate. The bed is not very comfortable and I recommend bringing your own pillows. I also recommend bring towels if you plan to use the hot tub. There are no beach towels available and there is not enough extra towels to spare. Be cautious when leaving in the dark. The lighting is poor along the swinging bridge and parking area. We had to use our cell phones. The unit can get loud. The hot tube and refrigerator are both noisy. Be cautious when driving back out. The signage to find the treehouse is pretty good, but terrible to exit. Now the HUGE he#! NO!!!! On the third night we returned, made a quick microwave meal and sat down to read and watch some TV. At 8:00 after two nights of questioning our hearing, a huge MOUSE came out from under the dishwasher and sat on the kitchen rug right in front of us. I am not joking!! I hate mice and freaked out. Not only had we been hearing them for 2 nights scurrying around, we used the silverware and dishes you know they have been walking on. By 8:30 we were packed up and headed out. Mind you we had a 8.5 hour drive. It ruined any plans we had for Friday, but I refuse to knowingly sleep with mice running around. There is no excuse. I have stayed in multiple cabins and never had this problem. They need to be treating the cabin, find where they are getting in and treat around the cabin. Absolutely unacceptable. My wife did reach out to them and not received any response or compensation.

It has been 5 long years since my wife and I first visited this jewel in the woods. Our first visit was while we were dating and now we have returned as husband and wife. We traveled to the area from Columbus Ohio on our Harley to meet up with our daughter and her husband.and stayed in the Mountaineer 2 bedroom cabin.The cabin was clean, ready early and extremely well equipped. The grill on the back porch got a workout. The amazing hot tub was a must after putting in a long hard day riding the winding roads of West Virginia. The owner and her staff were so helpful and kind at check-in. We messaged our grocery list ahead of our arrival and this wonderful owner and her staff provided everything to us as requested. You talk about going the extra mile, this staff went above and beyond. We can't wait to come back and stay again when we have more time to explore. Our hopes are to make this a yearly visit. Country Road Cabins, you outdid yourself! Your efforts, attention to detail and pride in customer satisfaction is top notch!

My friend and I stayed in the Tropical Sun glamp site and it was everything we'd hoped it would be and more. We were there overnight for her birthday, and the atmosphere was perfect. The bed was very comfortable, the furnishings and decor felt like the most fun clubhouse/pillow fort ever! Even though it was playful, the temperature control was great and it felt secure and private. There is a tankless water heater, so we didn't worry about running out of hot water. The fridge is a bit small if you'll be staying for an extended period of time. Along those lines, there isn't much in the way of storage if you're staying for a few days and are the type who likes to unpack. Otherwise, there was plenty of space for us to spread out, and seating on the front porch and around a fire pit outside. The kitchenette was reasonably well-appointed with decent knives and a hot plate, so it would definitely be possible to stay for several days or more and cook. Plus, there is a grill on the porch! If you're looking to eat out a time or two, I'd suggest the Cathedral Cafe in Fayetteville--excellent food and environment. We're so excited about our experience that we're thinking about going back for my birthday later this year! Check in and check out were a breeze and the staff I spoke to when reserving were very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

My family and I stayed here for a quick one night getaway. I was completely impressed and will be returning. My first thought was that I really liked how spaced out the cabins were. When we arrived at our cabin I felt like we were the only ones there, even though there was car at almost every place. The cabin and grounds were incredibly clean and stocked with everything we needed from plates and silverware, down to the shampoo I forgot to bring! We were next to a field where our girls, 6 and 4, spent hours playing soccer, blowing bubbles, and looking for bugs. When we were ready for dinner, I went to fire up the grill and I was shocked to find it was cleaner than my own ever thought of being. For dessert we made s'mores at the fire pit and then caught some lightning bugs. After winding down I took the cover off of the hot tub and was yet again pleasantly surprised. There was not a single bug, leaf or spec of anything in the water. I found out the next day from an employee that they actually drain and clean every hot tub after every guest! The beds were comfortable and I even got an added bonus of a storm rolling through and we listened to the rain on the tin roof. Our family had an incredible time and our daughters are already asking when we can go back. Next time, I think we may go for one of the tree houses! I'm really glad we tried this place and will remember this trip for a very long time.

Absolutely amazing experience, from the moment we arrived! We chose these cabins, for our anniversary getaway; and upon arrival, had a welcome message with a bottle of champagne awaiting us. The cabins are clean and well maintained, the staff are friendly and attentive; and the ambiance is worth the 4 1/2 hour drive, from Cincinnati! Heather, and her team have an exceptional business, located right near many exciting outdoor adventures! THIS is our new destination location, in the heart of WV! 10 star worthy!

Visiting a more rustic cabin setting I am always anxious about cleanliness. We stayed in the Appalachian cabin and it was impeccably clean. When I saw the live Peace Lily in the living room, I knew these folks cared about the customer experience. We had a great three days with our two sons. Didn’t spend much time at the cabin because we were experiencing everything the area has to offer, but as others have mentioned, we didn’t want for anything in the cabin. Beds were comfortable. It was quiet and we enjoyed the front porch and hot tub during some surprisingly cool August nights. We’ll definitely come back and recommend it highly.
