Guilin Hostels

"This was a really nice social small hostel. The staff were super friendly and arranged a dinner for us at the local restaurant and one night there was a local meet up for “English Corner” so we had a great time speaking to the locals. The place is a little out of the center, but is easily connected by bus and is next to a nice park. This hostel was great value for money, nothing too fancy but it was really a great few days. Also they have a western style toilet 👍"

"When I read the reviews, I feel this place is really awesome. But getting there, I have a little bit of a hard time finding the location. Then, when I arrive, the boss is not here so some people staying there open the door for me. The dog is so cute and nice! The toilets are really clean and the place itself (room) is a bit dusty. When my roommate moves above, my bed moves a little as well, which can be a bit of a bother. But the biggest problem, that made me leave, is that the beds are sooooooo hard, I never experiences that before. And also, there are no curtains, so you get light on your face hard time. Of course, you have curtains for your bed, but you don't have curtains at the window, which is a bummer. Last thing, I checked out very very late but the owner let me not pay an extra day because I changed plan, this is really awesome."

"Our doible bed room was clean, the window was smaler then on the pictures, but we had the view on the river. The staff and owner were very helpful and accomodating. Location was good enough to be close to the town center and the train station"

Towels were not provided in the room, but I asked at the front desk and they were available for free rental. Perhaps this is to reduce the effort of having them in the room? I was given both a key and a card key for the room door, but the card key could not be used to open or close the door, and was only meant to be inserted near the entrance to the room to use the electricity, which was a mysterious feature... The most annoying thing was that there were mosquitoes in the room, even though it was May.
