This was such a pleasant surprise! With the heavy downpour outside, booking this mahjong room was absolutely the right decision. It's clean, I mean, super clean! I really hope the owner continues to prioritize cleanliness as the foundation of their accommodation. It was so comfortable and surprisingly quiet. The only tiny thing was the pillows were a bit too high, which I mentioned to the landlady. The service attitude was impeccable – just the kind of comfortable vibe you want. We initially booked for one night, but after seeing the place, we immediately extended our stay for another day, delaying our trip home. We're so grateful for this fantastic guesthouse; it was such a relief after we had the worst guesthouse experience of our lives the day before. The contrast made this stay absolutely perfect, haha!

One of the best home stays I’ve stayed in for a while! The owners are so welcoming and the wife went out of her way to make me lovely food, drive me down to the ferry crossing and offer me advice for local hikes.
This is perfect for people who want to get away from the busy and touristy old town. It’s tucked away on the side of a mountain with gorgeous views of the Li river.
There is also an incredible hike up Damian mountain, built by the owners themselves! The owners will give you really easy instructions to reach the steps that take you up to the platform at the top. It’s also on the correct side of the river for the much busier Xianggong sightseeing platform.
Here are a few things to note:
- This is not close to anything else and will require you to get a ferry from Xingping old town for 5 yuan and pay someone to drive you up the mountain to the home stay
- Alternatively you can walk up in about 40 mins which is a very peaceful.
- They have some really friendly pets, a cat and 2 dogs. But just be aware if you’re not an animal person, but the dog will lead you up part of the path for the hike up Damian mountain!

2morrowsworldRelatively cheap accommodation with window/balcony facing karst mountain, and just 100m from the Li River. Some nice Thai themed embellishments decorate the rooms. Bed is only a small 'double' and has one useable powerpoint near bed right side + light controls. Aircon works well (only small room so to be expected). Overall, OK for 100 RMB per night, but does have a few issues.
Booked the 'special promotion' room. Trip.com indicates a room size of 12m square metres, which is incorrect. I measured it at 9.5 square, including the bathroom. If including the small balcony (2.5 sq m), the total room area is 12m best case. Only large enough for single occupancy, with small amount of luggage. Two people would need to climb over eachother to move around. No where near enough space for two - luggage would need to be kept outside on the balcony!
Hot water works but is not properly calibrated. Either boiling hot or freezing cold. Extremely difficult to find the right temperature to shower with any comfort. I put full hot, and waited. Water got super hot after 40 seconds. Adjusted to reduce by setting at middle between hot/cold, but water temperature remained super hot. Then pushed to full cold. Water temperature transitioned to cold 29 seconds later. Then put back to middle position but water remained dead cold. Tested this both ways for at least 4 minutes each and remained either scolding hot or freezing cold!!
Hotel provides signs to indicate desire to 'please clean room' and I hang this on outer door handle for two days, but to no avail So can only assume the owners don't provide this service. This establishment is only rated as a 2 star hotel, and given the low price point, you really can't complain - on the condition that the tariff is low. Acceptable for 100 -120 RMB per night. Unacceptable for much more than this though.

A perfect living experience. Not only is it comfortable to live here, but the boss family is also very enthusiastic, and he also called me to drink tea together. And their food is super delicious, beer fish is also good, in the morning, you can watch the sunrise at the observation deck, watch the sunset at night, you can see the terraces in the room, you can say perfect. However, the traffic of Longji Terraces is not very convenient. This point must be planned in advance before coming.

Guest UserOverall, the experience was excellent, exceeding my expectations. The hotel environment was clean and tidy, with no unpleasant odors in the corridors and public areas, which made me feel very safe. The room was spacious enough, with simple and elegant decor. The bed was just the right firmness, and the pillows were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom was spotless, with all necessary toiletries provided, and hot water was readily available. The front desk staff were warm and polite, patiently answering any questions and responding quickly. The location is excellent, with a bus stop right outside and many shopping areas nearby, making dining and shopping very convenient. The price-performance ratio is very high compared to similar hotels. My stay was very comfortable, and I would definitely recommend it and stay here again.

The newly renovated room is very clean. The boss is very nice. He helped us pack the fruits we bought outside so that we can carry them with us when we move in. It was great! Thank you very much boss! ! !

DiaomandaosimatanStaying at this lakeside B&B was an absolute delight! The waterside environment is superb, with fresh air and a wonderfully quiet atmosphere. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the lake-view room offered incredible scenery; waking up to the beautiful lake and mountains made for instant photo opportunities. The room layout was well-designed, with a great separation between wet and dry areas, and the toiletries were high quality. The owner was very friendly and responsive to all our needs, making us feel right at home. Excellent value for money!

Super nice place to stay. The lady at the reception who we also think was the owner, was super friendly and professional. She was also speaking in English, which was super nice, as we did not have to use any translation apps like in other hotels. The room was clean and nice, with a balcony. We loved the balcony, as we were sitting during the night and enjoying the sound of nature. The hotel also offers food at the restaurant at the rooftop with a nice view. The location is amazing with people selling things under your balcony, close to the shops and restaurants from one side, whilst also close to the river and all the attractions on the other. Also, this is the exact location where you can go up to Laozhai mountain for the breathtaking view, the hiking route literally starts less than a minute away from the hotel. (P.S. please make sure you understand that the way up the mountain is very steep, with no build steps/stair, we literally climb up rocks - do not go when its dark). Thank you to the hotel for the amazing stay.

Helped reserve bus tickets to Longji Rice Terraces. Even helped with pictures of where to find the bus stop
Room
Essentials. Bed. Curtains. Kettle. Hangers. But bit rough around edges e.g. curtains don't fully surround bed and kettle hard to plug in. Pretty comfy Mattress. Security is decent as you need a card to get in but you also need that card to be put in a slot for electricity which I feel like doesn't work as well in a shared dorm as if someone took theirs out during the night and no one was up to replace it the rest of wouldn't know our stuff had stopped charging. The people in the same dorm were quite rude like they left their stuff all over the shared spaces, but I think if I remember correctly there are lockers outside the room so if you need more storage space you can use them. For the prices you charge you can't complain
Bathroom
Again everything you need just not absolutely perfect. Sink. Sitting toilet. Shower. If you just need a quick rinse the shower is fine but at this time of year Guilin is really quite hot and humid so you went a proper shower but the shower in this room was extremely weak (picture is shower on full). If I was staying longer in this heat i would probably ask for a different room or book somewhere else
Amenities
There is a washing machine, a dryer and a clothes hanging area which you can use when the dryer is broken aha.
Location
It is in walking distance to both the train station and coach station, and there are shops and restaurants in the local area
Other
There is a cat roaming about - I have mild allergies which only really act up when I touch a lot of fur and I was fine so it must be pretty clean, but obviously if you have more severe allergies you may want to choose somewhere else

The view from the ”Premium Double Room” is fake - the hotel admitted to adding the karst mountains during ”post-production”. Do not book the room if you want dual aspect views onto the famous karst mountains (one side of the room faces some mountains (good view), but the other side faces some buildings).
When we raised their falsification on the advertisement with the reception they admitted to faking the views, and we were able to negotiate electric bike rental as compensation.
However, overall the hotel is good. 20 minute walk into city centre, clean, friendly staff, and a decent view (even if not as advertised) from some rooms. Good for the price!
I wouldn't normally comment on this, but given the other issues we faced it seems that this hotel manager is as opportunistic as possible to exploit and sort change guests. When we arrived, we were given a downgraded room (i.e. facing a concrete wall). When we raised it was the downgraded one we asked for the room we had booked (double aspect windows with the view of the mountains). She was able to give us that room, but as I already explained the photograph of the room advertised contains fake imagery to deceive guests. I hope they change this in the future so that other guests are not deceived like us.
Regarding the compensation for staying in the hotel despite the false advertising, we had negotiated free electric bike rental for one and a half days, and a ¥20 discount to be collected at the end. (They only accepted after I threatened to write an honest review and complain to Trip.com). Unfortunately, on the last day they didn't let us use the e-bike because it was drizzling (only in the morning, it was a bright sunny day for the rest of the day), and then they refused to refund the ¥20 as agreed on the basis that we'd used the e-bikes for half a day (the previous afternoon).
(I have written evidence (via my translation app history) of all of this should the hotel respond and say that I'm not telling the truth).
I am sharing a REAL photo of the room so future guests are aware of the view. I recommend that the hotel improves the honesty of their advertising.
