We booked our room here at the Holiday Inn Express in Kittanning for a friend’s wedding for April. Due to Covid-19 the wedding was moved to July 11, 2020. I have been in contact with this hotel five times in the last two weeks, and not once was a check in time mentioned. Earlier this week the hotel called to see if we were still coming with the pandemic going on. After saying yes, we asked if we could check in around one to get ready there and the shuttle for the wedding left at 3:10. They said yes. We got here today a little before one and were told we could not check in until three. Even though we had blocked rooms off and the shuttle left at 3:10. The front desk attendant was extremely rude in how he handled this. We would have been alright just leaving to go somewhere else or waiting a little, but his attitude was unprofessional and frustrating, hence why I’m writing the review. We called another hotel nearby and asked if they had a room available now and they said yes and we could check in now. We returned to the front desk and asked if we could cancel our reservation, they said no because they were completely booked and would charge us. We then checked and saw that they were not sold out and did in fact have rooms still available. So we told them we would be going to the other hotel and canceling our reservation. And immediately after that, we magically had a room available for us to go to now. After giving us our room key, we were told this was our mistake because we did not book a room Friday and Saturday night. We only needed the room for one night, and were told a check in around one would be fine. So we have been lied to repeatedly and treated not very hospitable by the front desk attendant. Also no one is wearing masks here or practicing social distancing. Even though IHG’s main website says they’re taking the pandemic seriously. I would not have written this review if we were treated with some decency and a little respect. But the behavior of the front desk attendant was the worst experience I have ever dealt with at a hotel.

I know you cannot guarantee early checks in, but I called the day before to make sure we at least asked for early. check in. We only needed to check in an hour early. We arrived at 2:25, but did not get our room until almost 3:30. It was also not the room I specifically requested on the app. Because we weren’t able to get in early(or even at 3, which is when we were scheduled to check in) we missed the wedding. By the time we got to the wedding, the ceremony was already done. We were only 10 minutes late… Also, while the front desk agent was getting rooms for people, she kept announcing room numbers on the walkie talkie, which made us feel very uncomfortable. Everyone in that lobby knew which room we were staying in, and we knew which room they were getting. It wasn’t right. We also had to come back downstairs to get our gift bag - they didn’t give it to us when we were checking in. The hotel was really clean, and the stay itself was fine. These few events I noted above were what turned us off. There was a lot of confusion, and a lack of professionalism from the front desk staff at check in.

this place is like heaven from the front desk to the house keeping and the chef and everybody that works in the resturant are so awesome and pleasant.rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable.i consider this hotel to be a 10 star hotel the best of the best .not only i consider this place to be awesome but i consider everybody here like family thank u all for a awesome stay yours truely regina and neil
