"I chose the Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kobe-Sannomiya for my trip to Kobe this time, and the overall experience was excellent. I highly recommend it to everyone. The hotel's location is absolutely superb, just a few minutes' walk from JR Sannomiya Station. Transportation around the hotel is extremely convenient, with all kinds of transport options readily available, making it easy to get to various attractions in Kobe city or to Kansai Airport. Plus, there's a convenience store, supermarket, and various restaurants right downstairs, making shopping and dining incredibly easy. The hotel facilities are also very complete. The rooms are clean and tidy, with a modern and minimalist decor. Although the space isn't particularly large, the layout is well-designed, making for a comfortable stay. The bedding is soft and comfortable, allowing for a good rest after a tiring day. The rooms are well-equipped with amenities like a large TV and blackout curtains, and some rooms even feature a separate bathtub and shower. On the second floor, the hotel has a laundry room, microwave, vending machines, and other facilities, meeting all daily needs. Additionally, the hotel offers complimentary skincare products, face masks, and drip coffee, which is a thoughtful touch. In terms of service, the hotel staff are all friendly. Whether it was checking in or asking questions, I received warm assistance. The hotel also offers self-check-in, which is convenient and fast. However, the hotel does have a few minor drawbacks. For example, some rooms are close to the train tracks, so you might hear the sound of trains passing. Guests who are sensitive to noise might want to bring earplugs. Also, the hotel's breakfast selection is relatively limited, and the dishes don't change much day-to-day, which could become monotonous for long-term stays. Overall, the advantages of Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kobe-Sannomiya far outweigh its disadvantages, making it an ideal accommodation choice for a trip to Kobe."

"it was stated as a smoking room but honestly there’s no cigarette smell! conveniently located right beside a 7-11 konbini & a few more others down the road! i love how towels, slippers, toiletries & even pajamas are generously provided. the nearest exit is exit 6 (stairs) and exit 14!!!!! (upslope if you’re heading to the hotel down) has a godsend elevator! would def book this hotel when i’m back in kobe :-)"

"My stay at Hotel Okura Kobe was generally good, but there are a few details worth sharing. Since the hotel was fully booked when we checked in, we were assigned a mountain view room and missed out on the sea view. If you're set on a sea view, I'd recommend opting for the nearby Oriental Hotel Meriken Park instead. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but what they offered was refined, with a good mix of Western and Asian options that should satisfy most tastes. What I liked most was the hotel's location, which made getting around very convenient. Plus, the room size was quite generous for a Japanese hotel, making for a comfortable and uncrowded stay. Overall, Hotel Okura Kobe is a good choice for travelers seeking convenience and comfort."

"The location of the hotel is superb as it was located at the Sannomiya station. You can easily identify the hotel building afar from nearby as it was one of the highest building in the district. There were tones of local restaurants and department stores nearby in walking distance. Public transportation was highly accessible to most of the tourist spots in Kobe. The hotel receptionists was friendly and spoke fluent English. They always greeted the customers with cheerful smile and polite greetings whenever we stepped out from the elevator. For the room itself, it was clean and tidy, not extremely spacious but sufficient for opening up 2 suitcases. And the massage chair was definitely the icing on the cake in which I regarded it as the most unexpected yet satisfying element out of all of my three stays in Kobe, Kyoto and Osaka! It saved our exhausted, sore feet, back and neck every night after the long walk. Highly recommended this hotel for everyone!"

"I've stayed at this hotel twice a year for business trips, so I'm quite familiar with it. Let me tell you about the pros: The location is convenient, nestled in a quiet spot yet still in the heart of Sannomiya. It's easy to access the subway, JR lines, and buses, and it's not far from Shin-Kobe Station, about a 1300 yen taxi ride. If you're arriving from Kansai Airport, it's less than a ten-minute walk from where the airport bus drops off in Sannomiya. It's also very friendly for shoppers, with Daimaru department store and a luxury shopping street just a few hundred meters from the hotel entrance. My only minor gripe is that the breakfast selection is a bit limited and leans heavily towards Japanese style, with no boiled eggs, but this is a common situation in Japanese hotels. Also, a quick correction regarding the room type information on Ctrip: for the medium or small double rooms at this hotel, Ctrip lists bed sizes as 1.6m and 1.3m. Having stayed here many times, I can confirm there's actually only one size: 1.54 meters wide by 2.03 meters long. I got these measurements directly from the front desk."

"The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Sannomiya, Kobe's busiest area, and 3 minutes from Motomachi Station. Downstairs is Nanjing Town, full of Chinese restaurants, which is basically Kobe's Chinatown food street. It's very convenient for dining, drinking, and shopping. The hotel's top floor has a sauna and hot bath, along with various free cold drinks and coffee. From 9:30 PM, they also offer complimentary special soy sauce ramen as a late-night snack. The room isn't huge, but it has everything you need; two large suitcases can be opened up without a problem. They don't provide daily cleaning service, but if you leave your trash and used towels outside the door, the staff will collect them and provide fresh ones. Overall, everything was excellent and quiet. Every day I'd wake up and it would already be almost 10 AM! 😂 I would definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit."

"Review of The Royal Park Canvas Kobe I recently stayed at The Royal Park Canvas Kobe and found it to be a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Sannomiya Station, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and convenience stores nearby. Kobe Chinatown is close by, and iconic spots like the “Be Kobe” monument and Kobe Tower are within a pleasant 25-minute walk. The Kitano Ijikan district is also easily reachable on foot. The hotel offers self-service check-in and check-out through machines, with front desk staff standing by if assistance is needed. My room had a relatively large bathroom, which added to the comfort. The buffet breakfast was not bad, and a fun highlight was the free ice cream available from 8pm to 10pm. A thoughtful touch is the presence of two donation bins where travellers can drop off unwanted clothing—an environmentally friendly and community-minded initiative. Overall, The Royal Park Canvas Kobe is a well-located, comfortable stay with nice little touches that enhance the experience."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right within the Motomachi shopping street, yet surprisingly quiet. Next door there's a lovely coffee shop with great coffee and delicious bread. Several famous old coffee shops like Nishimura, Kohshodo, Taco, the bakery Riki, and a drugstore are all within a 1-2 minute walk. Daimaru department store is conveniently located at the entrance of the shopping street. It's about a 3-minute walk to JR Motomachi Station, and you can reach Osaka Umeda in about 30 minutes. Sannomiya, Kobe, is roughly a 10-15 minute walk away. This hotel offers easy access to everything. What's particularly impressive is that the hotel cleans the rooms daily, which is not always common in Japan. Even if you don't require a full cleaning, they'll hang fresh toiletries and towels on your door. Although the room isn't huge, it's perfectly fine for a solo traveler. It's clean, well-maintained, and offers incredible value for money, truly exceeding my expectations and making my trip more enjoyable. The front desk also has staff who speak Chinese, and everyone is incredibly patient and always smiling. The service is truly top-notch."

"Pros: 1. The lobby is grand and spacious, which is quite rare for hotels in Japan. 2. The location is excellent. There's a subway station right downstairs, and Shin-Kobe Station is just a 3-minute walk away, making Shinkansen access super convenient. The cable car station for Nunobiki Herb Garden is also next door, and Kitano Ijinkan (Foreigner's Residences) is only a 10-minute walk. 3. The view from the guest room window is lovely. 4. The breakfast buffet is of high quality, and there's also a Japanese set breakfast option (if you're staying only 1-2 nights, I recommend sticking to the buffet; for three nights, you might try the set meal one day). 5. The staff are well-trained and have excellent service attitudes. Cons: 1. The guest rooms' decor and furniture are quite outdated and lack design flair. They are overly simple and plain, not matching the impressive lobby. 2. In November, there was no air conditioning in the room. The south-facing room got a lot of sun, making it very stuffy and hot. I had to keep the emergency exit open to make it more bearable. Overall, it's still worth recommending."

"Quite a nice hotel. Accessible to places via walking. The room is clean and comfortable. Daily changing of towels and bath robes is provided (may not be that environmental friendly). It will be good to provide a few hangers 😊 Otherwise, it's been a pleasant stay in the hotel."
