"This hotel is incredibly convenient for late-night arrivals at Narita. They offer free shuttle buses to both T2 and T1. So, if you land at Narita T3, just take the airport shuttle to T2, and then catch the hotel bus from stop 31b. The shuttle runs very frequently. The hotel itself is a bit older, but it's very affordable, offering excellent value for money. The room was quite spacious, at 33 square meters, easily accommodating two large suitcases. Soundproofing was decent, though you could hear planes when they flew over."

"The hotel location is excellent, near Kyoto Hall, with many restaurants and supermarkets downstairs. The environment is comfortable, and facilities are comprehensive. I arrived around 8 PM that night and spent a while looking for the front desk, only to find it on the third floor. They offer both assisted and self-service check-in. The self-service machine has a Chinese option and requires a card payment for tax, then it automatically dispenses the room key card, which is very convenient. Check-out is at 11 AM; you just drop the key card into a large box in the morning. The hotel lobby provides complimentary items like face masks, cosmetics, and toothbrushes for guests. They also offer services such as a microwave, laundry room, and luggage storage. There's an airport shuttle bus downstairs, but you need to buy tickets in advance. WeChat Pay and Alipay are not supported; only cash or credit/debit cards are accepted. The hotel's downsides are that the room is too small, making it a bit inconvenient to fully open a large suitcase. It can also get quite lively with many guests. It's not particularly close to the subway, and a bit of a distance from Shinjuku Station."

"I stayed here to attend the AnimeJapan event. It's a 10-minute walk from Kanda Station, which was perfectly manageable even with a nearly 10kg suitcase! It seems Kodemmacho Station is also close by. Given its central Tokyo location, the cleanliness, the sense of security, and the price are all excellent, I think! I'd definitely like to stay here again if I have the chance!!"

"As clean as it gets for a dated hotel. Truly needs refurbishment. Location is alright, shuttle bus provided for town access. Service as expected of Japanese hotel standard. Nice hotel garden with onsen. However please note, this is the first 4-star hotel that provided me with only 2 pillow for my room. Additional pillow requires charges. Though I booked for 2 adults and 2 kids."

"An honest review, straight to the point 👇 The hotel is very small and mainly suitable just for sleeping, with no real comfort. The services are extremely limited: there is only a kettle for hot water. There is no microwave, no stove, and the fridge is very small and shared by the entire hostel, not private to the room, which is inconvenient especially for longer stays. In terms of comfort, the place is very basic and not suitable for anyone looking for proper facilities, cooking options, or a comfortable stay. That said, the one strong point is the location: it’s excellent and very close to markets and public transportation, which saves a lot of time and effort. Bottom line: If you’re on a tight budget and mainly care about location, it can work. If you want space, comfort, or real services, it’s better to look for another option."

"This was my first time flying Japan Airlines. We arrived at Haneda late on the first night and had an early flight to Osaka the next morning, so we chose the Villa Fontaine at T3. It was an excellent experience! Although the room was small, it had all the facilities we needed, and we even got complimentary tickets to the Sky Spa on the 12th floor, which was amazing! (Kids must be at least 4 years old to enter the spa.) The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from T3, so we didn't have to rush for check-in and baggage drop the next morning. Maybe it's because we had a stroller, but the airport staff said we only needed to check in 20 minutes before departure, so next time we won't be so stressed. Overall, I highly recommend staying at Villa Fontaine if you have an early morning connecting flight. There's even less need to rush for domestic flights in Japan. Thumbs up!!!"

Hotel Plus Hostel Tokyo Asakusa 1 is a dormitory-style accommodation conveniently located within walking distance of Asakusa Station and Kaminarimon Gate. The property offers a mixed-gender floor, and a women-only floor, allowing guests to choose according to their preferences. The lounge area is furnished with numerous tables and chairs, and guests can also enjoy table football. In addition, the Japanese-style public bath and sauna are among the hotel’s key attractions. Please note that we do not have private shower booths in our facility. We aim to provide a comfortable and affordable stay while creating a space where new connections can be formed, catering to a wide range of needs—from business to leisure. We warmly welcome you to stay with us. Please note that we do not have private shower booths in our facility.

"I really liked that the beds were perpendicular to the aisle, it felt more secure. The mattress was thick and soft, so I slept very comfortably. There were many spacious restrooms, and the showers were like a public bath, where you sit down to wash, similar to an onsen. There was also a large, very hot communal pool, but I could only stay in for about a minute. If you unplug the desk lamp, you'll find an outlet for your charger; otherwise, there's only a slow USB charging port. However, the ladder was terrible – it was made of thin metal and hurt my feet terribly, especially after already walking so much. Climbing that ladder felt like torture! It was also quite difficult to climb, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone not agile or with long fingernails. There are no private rooms on the floor, just dozens of beds, so it was quite noisy at night with people snoring. There was also a constant loud banging from outside the building, I'm not sure what it was."

"Stayed for one night in Japan with my son while transiting to the US. The hotel offers a dedicated shuttle service, though it's still a bit of a distance from the airport. Beyond the hotel, there are only one or two convenience stores nearby. The convenience store on the first floor of this hotel doesn't have much selection, and the prices are higher compared to the 7-Eleven or FamilyMart (can't remember which) located under another hotel about 300-400 meters away. That one has a wider variety and reasonable prices. We walked there as a mini-excursion and explored. The hotel facilities are decent, just a little bit dated."

"Excellent hotel! It's right across the road from Shinagawa Station (Takanawa Exit). You can take the Keikyu Line directly to Haneda Airport, which is super convenient! Plus, it's a hub for multiple train lines, so you can easily take the subway to all the popular attractions. Highly recommended! There's a 7-Eleven convenience store on the 2nd floor of the Annex Tower, remember, it's the 2nd floor, not the 1st! All in all, I definitely recommend this hotel!"

KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptional—everything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day. The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free. The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference. The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

GGuest UserReally enjoy my stay here, the location is unbeatable since it's walking distance to many metro lines, the staffs are very friendly and accommodating, the onsen is also very clean, the juice bar in the morning and bar in the evening were also great touches. There is only one elevator but I didn't find it to be a deal breaker, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

VvjongThe location is very good. Very close to subway, JR and Shinkansen. Many restaurants and shopping in the area including a very famous ramen downstairs. The room is clean and the onsen is as great as usual but a little small. Another issue is there is only 1 lift so it could take time to wait for lift. I did not enjoy the free ramen at night but I have no reason to question its quality! Overall, great value for money!

GGuest UserShinjuku Granbell Hotel was my accommodation choice during this Tokyo Shinjuku trip. Part of the design-oriented Granbell chain, the hotel opened in 2013 and expanded with additional rooms in 2016. It has a modern and stylish vibe overall, making it a good fit for travelers who enjoy a bit of personality and contemporary feel. The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking. Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). For someone who enjoys walking, it’s manageable, but dragging large luggage or walking in the rain might feel a bit inconvenient. In short, the location is highly central and vibrant, but it’s not quite “step out the door and you’re at the station” level. Room cleanliness is acceptable—daily housekeeping is thorough, with bathrooms, bedding, and floors kept in good condition, and no noticeable odors or mess. Everything feels clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. Bathrooms are on the small side (normal for Tokyo), but hot water is reliable and usage is fine. They also offer free loan of air purifiers or humidifiers, which is a nice small touch. Other minor highlights include the rooftop terrace (great for night views or a drink on clear evenings), a café, and a bar with decent atmosphere. Breakfast is an additional charge, but with so many dining options nearby, skipping the hotel breakfast is never an issue. In summary, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel isn’t a top-tier luxury property, but if you’re looking for a lively Shinjuku location, moderate design appeal, clean and practical rooms, and surroundings full of energy and food options at a mid-range budget, it’s a solid and pragmatic choice. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!

CCN_NanaThe facility was great in general. Except you cant stay over the day its just for sleeping, showering and then you can leave it ln daytime, leave your stuff, as they clean and restrict the sleeping area. Otherwise it was kind of an all inclusive experience and did have a clean and nice washroom, as well as all round service. But it was a bit loud in the morning, the cleaning stuff rummages around exactly in front of the bed, talking, making noise cleaining beds 2 hours before check out.

BBep SumangIt was a nice experience staying at Hotel Centurion Ueno. The location is very convenient, with train stations nearby and a convenience store just across the lot. There are also several restaurants in the area, as well as easy access to Ueno Park, Ueno Zoo, and the Ameyoko street market. The room is small but can accommodate two average-built persons. Although the hotel was under renovation at the time, overall it was still an awesome stay, and I give it a 👍👍.
