"Very large, tastefully furnished room. The hotel's ambiance is elegant and cozy. I felt very comfortable and will book the hotel again when I travel to Berlin. The only drawback: Unfortunately, there's no walk-in shower; you have to climb into the bathtub. The breakfast is excellent – ​​extremely attentive, personal service in a peaceful atmosphere."

"After really looking forward to staying at this place, I was a bit disappointed. It is clear they lack in maintenance staff and also some housekeeping. Though the facade of the hotel looks beautiful and staff is really friendly, the rooms just gave me 'the ick'. After checking in and being sent to a one person room (I booked a double room), so it was a messy start. They apologised and offered to bump me up a category, which was really nice! When I came in the new room, I noticed some questionable spots in the carpeting. Like the kind where you do not want to guess what it may be. As it was 2 am by that time, I went to sleep and showed pictures of the room the next day. I was offered to change the room. I did later that night after being out with my friends. When I woke up the next morning, I wanted to take a shower. The showerhead was filthy however. That led me to do another check of the room, finding similar issues as before. I called staff to have the shower issue fixed, which they did. It was actually exchanged for a new one. At checkout the next day when asked about my stay, I said I wasn't impressed. Then I got told I should have told them so I could have changed rooms... I was too exasperated to explain that switching rooms 2 times for a three night stay was already annoying enough. I was also told to come back in a year as 'maybe I will be lucky and get a refurbished room then'. Which was a weird joke to make. Other than that, great hotel, they have amenities and all you could want and the staff was really friendly!"

"Five star disappointment. They put us in a room in a back building then blocked our access to our room all week due to various events they had on the first floor. To get to our room we had to go up one set of stairs, walk an entire hallway, then take two more slow elevators. Very inconvenient and not a 5 star experience. I left a message of complaint with the manager and got no response. Very disappointed with this hotel experience."

"We recently stayed at The Circus Hotel in Berlin, taking two rooms for a short family trip. The experience was, in many respects, excellent. The location is ideal—central, with easy access to public transport and within walking distance of a huge variety of restaurants and shops. Service throughout was truly commendable. Staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful at every turn. The hotel bar is a genuine highlight—stylish, welcoming, and well-stocked. We especially appreciated the honesty bar and terrace upstairs, which made for a beautiful, relaxed afternoon during our stay. Breakfast was another strong point, offering a good variety of quality options in a comfortable setting. The rooms themselves are well-sized, clean, and nicely appointed. However, there’s a major issue that any traveller should be aware of: there is no real air conditioning. What’s provided is what I would describe as a comfort cooling system—more symbolic than functional. During our stay, temperatures hovered around 25 °C during the day and 18 °C at night, yet the rooms remained unpleasantly warm. Both rooms had fans, and the windows had to be opened to let in any real cool air. It’s quite clear that the hotel expects guests to rely on the fans, which is not acceptable given the climate realities of Berlin summers. This significantly affected our comfort and sleep. For travel between late May and early October, I would strongly caution against booking unless you’re completely indifferent to room temperature. It’s unfortunate, because in almost every other respect, The Circus Hotel is a real gem. I genuinely wanted to love it, and in cooler months, I very likely would. But the absence of proper climate control is a deal-breaker in warmer weather, and it’s clear the hotel is aware of the issue—hence the fans in every room. Pros: • Excellent location • Superb service • Great breakfast • Fantastic bar and terrace • Generous room size Cons: • No air conditioning—only a weak cooling system and fans • Rooms become uncomfortably warm even in moderate summer temperatures Conclusion: A brilliant hotel during cooler seasons. But for summer stays, particularly with children or light sleepers, the lack of proper climate control unfortunately outweighs the many positives."

"We really liked the hotel itself. It's clean and modern, and our room was well-maintained and had everything one could wish for, except for air conditioning. The room size was absolutely fine, and the hotel's location is also really good. Unfortunately, the positive impression was significantly marred by a receptionist. The lady was exceptionally unfriendly and unhelpful, both during check-in and throughout our entire stay – not only towards us but also towards several other hotel guests. For example, we inquired about a late check-out, and we were told by this particular staff member that it was generally not possible. When we asked another staff member later that night, a late check-out was easily arranged. Such contradictory information is, of course, very annoying for guests. We also found it particularly unpleasant that the staff member made fun of other hotel guests in our presence. Overall, she conveyed a very unfriendly and unprofessional impression throughout our stay, creating an unpleasant atmosphere for several guests. Since she worked mainly in the late afternoon all weekend, we unfortunately encountered her regularly. Overall, the hotel is definitely recommendable due to its cleanliness, modern facilities, and good location. However, the service at the front desk significantly negatively impacted our stay. In our opinion, there is an urgent need for improvement here."

"The most unforgettable thing is the warm service everywhere: the turndown service not only provided lavender aromatherapy eye masks, but also handwritten weather reminder cards; upon learning that I had stomach discomfort, the housekeeping department delivered ginger tea and hot water bottles overnight; when I checked out, the manager took the initiative to hand over a customized travel guide, and even the surrounding niche photo-taking spots were clearly marked. I still received birthday greeting messages after checking out of the hotel - this is not a hotel, it's clearly a home far away!"
