Spent a week at the Bayside Hotel, the main selling point of this little hotel is the staff, they are warm, welcoming and very accommodating! The rooms have useful fridges, kettles and hobs, so if on a budget they are perfect for lunch in your room. The balcony was perfect at night. Free air on and little TVs. Taverna on site, gardens and own beach. Opposite is a little supermarket and only a 5 min walk to the bus stop to town and the airport. Lots of local restaurants I would recommend Canton and Rosemary in particular. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the pool area. It really does need a severe deep clean of all the grills and tiles and some chlorine popping in the pool, as it is building up green algae. At this time of year, at the end of season, not many people we’re swimming as too cold and windy, so I understand the need to cut costs on chlorine and filtration, but the pool area was really disappointing with a shut down bar, broken umbrellas and sun beds, and a dirty pool. It’s the selling point of the hotel with the raised bar and bridges, but it has lost its previous glam. However at £35 a night I imagine there isn’t much profit for renovation projects post pandemic so I appreciate its hard to find spare cash to invest in this area but it’s where I would put my focus on for 2023/2024 season.
