Four Points Hotels in Kunming

Absolutely fantastic! It's right in the city center, within walking distance to Cuihu Lake and the pedestrian street. The service is excellent, from the front desk to all other staff, everyone is smiling, helpful, and accommodating. There are tons of restaurants and malls nearby, which is incredibly convenient! The breakfast spread is rich and varied. I will definitely choose to stay here again next time. There can be a bit of noise at night, with people singing on the pedestrian street below until 9 PM, which isn't ideal, but it's a minor flaw that doesn't detract from the overall experience.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Kunming University of Science and Technology's Xinying Campus, and just 800 meters from Bailong Road Station on Metro Line 4. Across the street, there's a large supermarket and a shopping mall, and a renowned 'Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles' restaurant is less than 100 meters away. Popular attractions like Kunming Old Street, Green Lake Park, Kunming Station, and Grand View Park are all easily accessible. The hotel's industrial design theme is evident throughout. Having opened just over a year ago, the guest room facilities are very new. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bedding is spotless. However, the bathroom and toilet are located next to the window, which requires a bit of extra attention for privacy. The drinks in the mini-fridge are complimentary. Additionally, the hotel offers a self-service laundry room and a gym, along with robot room service, which is very convenient. Breakfast is served on the 2nd floor (from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM) and offers a wide variety of options. The hotel is very welcoming and generous, and the service attitude is also commendable.

I had a very satisfying stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Kunming Changshui Airport, in their family room. The hotel is conveniently located very close to the airport, which is great for catching flights. The room was clean and hygienic, the environment was quiet, and the facilities were complete. The family room type was particularly spacious. The staff provided attentive and thoughtful service, and the overall quality was excellent. It's definitely our top choice for an overnight layover when traveling with family. We'll continue to choose this hotel for future transfers.

Facilities: The facilities are quite comprehensive, but the shower pressure is really low and the temperature is hard to control – it's either too cold or too hot. Other aspects are fine; there are plenty of places to hang clothes. No complimentary fruit or drinks, which the nearby Hilton Garden Inn does provide. Hygiene: It's good, but there are no bin liners in the rubbish bins, which is very strange. I even specifically asked the front desk, and they said that's how it is. It feels a bit unsanitary; having a bin liner would be much more hygienic. Environment: The surrounding area is still under construction, but since the hotel is on a higher floor, it's not affected. The hotel's decor is quite stylish and appealing. Service: Overall, the service is prompt. However, I must complain about the breakfast. There was a severe shortage of seating, forcing guests to stand. For a hotel of this quality, such an embarrassing situation shouldn't occur. The dining experience was very unpleasant, even though the breakfast selection was varied and tasty.

On my third day at the hotel, I witnessed a small incident. An elderly guest was checking out, but the wheels on his suitcase were broken, making it impossible to drag. The young lady at the front desk tried to help fix it without success and was looking anxious when Manager Gao happened to pass by. Instead of calling engineering, he knelt down and carefully examined the suitcase. ”Uncle, let me help you arrange a courier to send it back, and we'll cover the shipping fee,” he said, pulling out his phone to place an order. The old man waved his hand repeatedly, ”No, no, I'll figure it out myself.” But Manager Gao insisted, ”You've come all the way to Kunming to enjoy your trip; we can't let a broken suitcase spoil it. This is what we should do.” Ten minutes later, the courier arrived to pick up the luggage. The old man, with tears in his eyes, shook Manager Gao's hand. This incident reminded me of a previous experience at a certain luxury hotel – same situation, but the manager just officially pointed to the maintenance number. The dividing line in service often lies in this 'extra step' of sincerity.
