The first impression of the host Younoos was excellent. He was welcoming, friendly and very helpful with our luggage and guided us to a nice and large room. My wife and I are very happy with our accommodation. Since then we have enjoyed our 4 night stay, with early morning breakfast served by the host himself. This place definitely feels like home and I can wander into the meals area to make myself a cuppa when I want. I very highly recommend Auberge Le Saladier and will be back next year for sure.

I had a one day layover in Mauritius and spent the night here. The price was reasonable and it is not far from the airport. My room was clean and comfortable and the owners are very nice people.

The owner couple was super helpful and friendly. There are supermarkets, banks, restaurants, market, bus station and seaside area all in walking distance from the histel.

Great, very pleasant and warm welcome. Simple bedroom and bathroom. No need for more for one night in our opinion. Simple breakfast with an extra fruit salad. The value for money is great. There are a few restaurants nearby and we are very close to the airport. So very practical when you get there.

Having to stay for one night in Mahebourg without spending too much, we chose this property on a specialized site. It is a two-storey building with an entrance on a street with little traffic and quite quiet. The rooms overlook a lovely, flowery internal courtyard. It is run by a very kind and helpful couple. The price of the room (really cheap) includes a light breakfast. The sore points are the rather shabby bathroom with hot water arriving more than 5 minutes after opening the tap and the perpetually dangling shower head that doesn't want to feel like it's stuck to the support hook. The bathroom equipment is limited to just one small towel and no cosmetic products for the shower (only a hand dispenser). On the other hand, there is a small refrigerator to keep drinks and food brought by guests relatively cold. However, what drastically drops our assessment is the nocturnal visit of a robust cockroach which kept us company during the night and subsequently broke in behind the furniture in the room, escaping our attempts to capture it. After all, for the price paid (around €30), it's worth it.

We spent a week at the Le Saladier hostel as a couple with our 2 daughters. Exceptional welcome from Yoonos and Jill who take great care and always give good advice. Breakfast served every morning with the good humor of Yoonos. Hostel security is a++. Functional room, no luxury or ornaments, but you will find air conditioning (at a small additional cost) and TV. Pleasant flowered patio. The hostel is in the city center of Mahébourg, bus station 5 minutes walk, snack restaurants, all amenities nearby. Thanks for everything to Yoonos and Jill, we really fell in love with this hostel and their hosts. We hope to return if we have the opportunity to stay in Mauritius.
