"Location is fantastic, room is accessible especially the toilet and the restaurant offers 10%off when dining in, with a good variety of food. Lake Tekapo is just outside our room...with these main attractions within 5mins walk."
"Love the location near to lake and restaurants. The place is neat and clean but design of room is outdated.
Worth staying for one night.
Tips: book the ground level room as only stairs to level 2 rooms."
"It was my first time staying in a homestay apartment. It was very clean overall. We arrived late and the old landlord kept waiting. It was very hard for the old man to sleep so late. I am very grateful to him. The two rooms are very homely and warm. There are air conditioners and fireplaces, which are very comfortable in winter. I have two children who are 4 and a half years old and they were charged extra... This was unexpected. Generally, it is OK for children of this age not to occupy beds, but it was too late and the whole family was very tired, so we didn't care. It is more important to communicate with the landlord in advance. I don't know why there is a charge. We didn't have breakfast either, which needs to be ordered in advance. Other experiences are good"

"Check in by yourself, the boss is Chinese, you can communicate in Chinese, the location is very quiet and not noisy
But the bed was soft, especially on the side, it collapsed, and the roof often made noises. The room was affixed to the sound of wood heat and cold. I thought it was an animal fighting on the roof."

"The location of the cabin is very good, just next to the Good Shepherd Church, within walking distance, and the door is tekapo Lake. Check-in is very convenient, the boss lives nearby. The room is also relatively clean and the area is enough."
"Parking beside the road. Self Checkin so need to arrange in advance to get the door access. The room a bit small but the facilities in room very new. Checking out on the dot as it’s peak season. Clothes still very wet after one round cotton function on dryer."

WWeng KitVery good location in the centre of the town if u are taking intercity bus to there. The hotel have a very nice glass view, full equip kitchen and lounge to chill and rest. Room is comfy and have a nice view.
GGuest UserAbsolutely, a wonderful place during the trip in Tekapo, which has spacious room and built-in kitchen that is easy to cook for yourself because the nearest fourth-quarter market is just 10 minutes walk. It’s a self-service hotel and very easy to check in after you get your password from your e-mail to access in your ordered separate house. You can just walk away and enjoy the stunning view and food just alongside the small street.
AAnonymous UserFacilities: Great, with dishes, cutlery, microwave, and shared washing machine
Hygiene: Great. We especially like this mode, with slippers and soap, which is very consistent with our previous travel and accommodation habits. The room is also quite large, with a balcony that leads directly to the room, which is quite convenient. A very pleasant living experience. I will book this hotel again next time I come to Lake Tekapo!
EElviraThe place is lovely, but unfortunately the host didn’t send me instructions how to check in. We had to look for WiFi in a public place to be be able to call him. It took us a while to find it. There was no shampoo, only 2in 1. Ladies with long hair, bring your own shampoo and hair conditioner. Otherwise the place is new and comfortable.
CCyndi on the RoadGreat location, right beside the lake.
We weren’t aware that toilet, shower and kitchen is all shared. Cabin is super tiny that is hard to do anything else inside. We didn’t sleep that well and it was not convenient that you have to go outside for toilets in the middle of night.
The campsite is nice, but with the amount of people and campvan, the utilities seem to be overloaded.
SskeatyWe mentioned during our booking that the stay was for our honeymoon, and we were pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful touches the hotel provided. The room was beautifully decorated, and we received a lovely welcome letter congratulating us on our honeymoon, which made us feel truly special. One of the highlights was the skylight panel above the bed—it exceeded our expectations. Once we turned off the lights, we could clearly see a stunning view of the stars, adding a magical touch to our stay.
GGuest UserGood location, lucky to see the Antarctic light
The room is very hygienic, the kitchen is complete
Breakfast sun shines in the living room, too comfortable
GGuest UserThis accommodation is located near to Lake Tekapo and Four Square grocery store. 5-7 min drive to Tekapo hot springs (star gazing).
Good amenities provided - kitchenette, dish washer, coffee maker, utensils, washing machine and wifi connection. No mirror cast available at TV - it’s connected to Sky cable TV programmes.
Unfortunately, we did not find the bed comfortable - bedroom is too small for both of us. Limited car park lots.
FFayreWe are couple with a 5 year old girl. We paid SGD697.85 (Singapore dollar) for staying 2 nights in this “2 bedroom apartment” as stated.
3 points here to explain the terrible experience.
1. tv remote is not working. I don’t mind the owner making excuse like “ replied customer’s message within 20mins…..” but they actually took 29mins to reply (19:10 till 19:39). In fact, they didn’t manage to change the tv remote in the end. So I stayed 2 nights without using the TV!
2.there is no clear and obvious description that this “2 bedroom apartment” is actually an adjoining unit which means when u walked into the front door then there are 2 doors link to split parts of the apartment. The problem of adjoining units are thin walls are used to split the apartment into 2 small units. When u stay in this kind of apartment, u have to endure all kind of noises from whoever staying in neighboring rooms. We had 2 days enduring guesting from the other room shouting, slamming the door, kids screaming like crazy both early in the morning and afternoon!
3. When I reflect this bad experience with trip.com customer service, this hotel responded like they have no fault at all and played with words. This attitude makes us feel like being fooled. We paid money to expect to stay in an apartment with privacy and quiet environment but indeed we had such a bad experience!
In this market, if it’s an adjoining unit, they should not charge at the rate as if it’s an entire apartment.
I’m alright that they rejected to refund the extra amount they charged. Just have to reflect the facts in the review.
Thanks.
JJACKIE GWe stayed at Hunter Hunter for 2 nights. It is conveniently located - close to Tekapo Village and also close to some walking trails . The unit was clean and had good amenities . The only downside was that if is not terribly sound proof and easy to hear the people in the next unit . Overall we had a good stay and would recommend .
