Hotels near Milano Centrale, Milan

My first stop in mainland Europe was Milan, and I chose this hotel. For two adults and one child, we opted for a triple room. European hotels are strict about occupancy matching the actual number of guests, so finding a triple room can be a challenge. We arrived from Milan Malpensa Airport at 6:30 AM, took a 1-hour train ride, and then walked to the hotel in less than 10 minutes – the route was very easy to find. The hotel is conveniently located, with a coffee shop across the street. We initially thought about having breakfast there, but later decided to head to the Duomo area instead. The hotel allowed us to store our luggage in advance, but early check-in wasn't possible, which is understandable. We came back around 3 PM for check-in and found that while the room wasn't large, it was well-equipped with bath towels, slippers, shower caps, and shampoo. You'll need to bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, and electric kettle. There's a safe and a mini-fridge in the room, but the mini-bar items are chargeable. Breakfast was especially plentiful and served from 7 AM to 11 AM. Overall, we were very satisfied with the hotel, though the Wi-Fi connection was a bit tricky. One minor complaint: the bathroom light is sound-activated, which is fine when showering, but it kept going dark while using the toilet, and even clapping loudly didn't always work. The small balcony was nice, but for non-smoking tourists, it's not particularly useful.

I stayed at this hotel during the ENTIRE Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.  Across the street from the hotel was a great cafe.  On the street where the hotel is located are two late night restaurants until 12 and 1 am respectively.   At the same time the hotel was VERY CONCERNED when I would walk out to maybe get some food late at night as they warned about pickpockets and general petty crime.  They would lock the door about 2 am and then would re-open it when they saw you come back.  I get that only one person was on duty.   The hotel had good wi-fi and the TV channels had a LOT of channels, none in English, but the rest were in all of the different languages all around Western Europe which is what is to be expected.  The rooms had a refrigerator in them which was nice to put things in and the desk was nice to use that was my primary work area.    The property is literally a 5 minute walk to Milano Centrale which was very convenient.  IF YOU go to the area by the McDonalds at any time, you REALLY HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS at any time as you had folks around there that might be up to no good.  The police did patrol that area well.  Right next to the McDonald's was a TERRIFIC TURKISH restaurant I went to that I must have had the Kabob Pizza 3-4 times called Centrale Turkish Kebap Dorbubir. I would stay here again should I come into the area.  After 18 nights at a hotel, you do figure out if you are compatible with a place.

I stayed for 4 nights. The hotel seems to be newly built, very modern not like those traditional hotels in Europe. It provides 2 bottles of water, 2 small shower gel and shampoos, and disposable slippers which seem not very common in europe given the environment consideration. Heating is good. There is a radiator in the toilet, making it warm and nice in the cold Feb. The shower holder is loosen, so the water splashed and a bit hard to control. Location is not bad, 15 minutes by walk from Milano Centrale, 10 minutes by walk from the subway Sondrio. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, making it convenient to transfer. The room is relatively good space for big suitcase. There is a safe in the room. The dining area is nice, though I didn’t take meals there. The receptionists are very friendly and welcoming, apart from one guy on a night shift who was rude and ruined my good impression of the hotel. Overall, a nice place to stay for me who came to Milan for the first time and was not very familiar with the local as someone from China.

Comfortable, modern, clean, helpful staff, EXTREMELY convenient location next to Milano Centrale train/metro/bus station. Several great bakeries and restaurants within two or three blocks, like Osteria Papà Nicola, Nico Quick Bite (next door), Caffè Pascucci, Ristorante da Gigi, Crazy Cat Cafe (meet their 9 cats), and Caffè Napoli (most amazingly soft and delicious filled croissants ever). 5 min walk to the shopping on Corso Buenos Aires. Highly recommended.

I booked four nights, and right after I made the reservation, Ctrip lowered the price of the same room type and conditions by nearly 550 CNY and refused to refund the difference. As a Black Diamond member, I felt deeply betrayed. Now, I would like to make some comments on the hotel itself. First of all, overall this hotel is quite good. The front desk staff are very polite and helpful, the room cleaning staff are also very courteous, and the breakfast is fairly plentiful. Next, I will truthfully record some flaws that I cannot accept: 1. My room for the first night was 31, located behind three elevators. Starting around 6 AM, the noise from the elevators kept me awake and prevented me from falling back asleep. It was a truly unbearable ordeal! Thankfully, the front desk changed my room for the second night; I'm grateful for the gentleman's assistance. 2. There was a dead fly by the window in the new room, which was disgusting. I took care of it myself. 3. There are two major problems in the bathroom: the towels are dirty and have a sour smell even when not in use. Also, the showerhead has a very low water flow due to limescale buildup. 4. The spotlight above the room door had fallen down, and because it was the weekend, no one was there to maintain it. It's really ridiculous. Unahotels is a hotel chain I really like, and pointing out these problems is simply hoping the hotel will improve its quality and ensure a basic level of quality for our guests.

Good location as it is very near the train station and some eateries. Convenient for travellers to commute via train from place to place. Only king king-size bed and one single bed for the triple room. Value for money.

I initially hesitated to book because of reviews mentioning it was old, but it turned out to be okay. It definitely has an older decor, and the wooden window shutters need to be manually pulled up. The air conditioning was broken, and I had to specifically ask for a fan before they brought one. Sleeping with the window open was a bit noisy due to the street, but thankfully the neighbors weren't loud. The toiletries provided were tiny, but when I asked the front desk, they brought me plenty. They provided two bottles of sparkling water in the fridge, though I would have preferred regular water. It's a very convenient 5-minute walk from the train station.

The Bernina Hotel was truly the best choice I could have made. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly in Korean, saying “Annyeonghaseyo,” which made us feel instantly welcome. Since it was our honeymoon, they kindly upgraded our room, allowing us to enjoy a more comfortable and romantic stay. During meals, they even prepared a special salmon salad for us, making every moment in Milan even more delightful. My wife and I asked to take a photo together, and I told them I would cherish our memories of this hotel forever. It was an unforgettable and heartwarming experience, and I sincerely hope many others will come here to create their own happy memories too.

The hotel exceeded expectations. Very good. Clean - trash was taken out every day. Linen was changed every three days. It was warm, water pressure was excellent. Good mattress, kettle, large mirror. The room had a small terrace. No breakfast - this is not very good, but for Italy this is considered the norm. It is about 20 minutes walk from the train station, it is not very pleasant to walk in the evening, but there were no adventures. You can get to the center by metro, about 40 minutes walk.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. It's right across the street from the main train station, and having a subway entrance downstairs made getting around incredibly convenient. There are also tons of dining options nearby. I stayed for three nights, and the convenience of getting around was a huge plus. I booked a balcony room, and the view was great, plus the room was spotless. The service was also very good. My only real complaint is that the in-room facilities and amenities were quite inconvenient. I could overlook not having a kettle or coffee maker (though room service could bring a kettle if needed), but there weren't even any regular drinking glasses – only two small mouthwash cups on the sink. For a triple room, there was only one stool... Overall, it's a great spot with good hygiene and a nice view; just don't expect much else from the amenities.
