It's 20 minutes from Kawaguchiko Train Station. The cabins are very nice, and the place is very quiet, away from the noise. You can rent a bicycle and go for a ride to the village and see the beautiful view of Mount Fuji. They have a restaurant in the hotel. I went alone, but it's also perfect if you're accompanied. The man and woman are very kind and nice. They treat you wonderfully. I had to return a day before my departure, but they did me the favor of taking me to the train station—such a kind and beautiful gesture that showcased the human side and culture of Japan. It has a beautiful view of the lake, and there you can organize more tours around the village. Thank you for everything.

— Bikes available for rent.
— A 2-minute walk from the bus stop.
— There are two bus stops: one for Kawaguchiko and one for the Saiko sightseeing loop.
— It takes about 30 minutes by bus from Kawaguchiko Station to the accommodation. Be aware that the last bus leaves quite early.
— You can also ask a staff member to drive you.
— On the day we checked in, a group of deer appeared outside the accommodation at 7 PM.
— The downstairs bathroom is a good size and has a bathtub. However, the bathroom door itself can't be locked; only the outer washroom door can.
— No password needed for the Wi-Fi, but you have to reconnect every hour.
— The heater in the room emitted a strong smell of burnt fuel, which was unpleasant.
— There was an insect on the wall near the door in the room, on the floor.
— The road outside is poorly lit; it gets so dark you can barely see your hand in front of you. I recommend bringing a flashlight when going out.
— There's a coffee machine.
— It's very quiet in the vicinity.
— The downstairs toilet area seemed to have no heating, making it extremely cold to use at night.
— The staff can communicate in English and even gave me an apple.

This hotel is located south of Lake Kawaguchiko, which isn't the most popular area. It's also quite old, dating back to 1887. However, the facilities and maintenance are up to par, and the hotel has a distinct, traditional Japanese style that exudes a historical sense of luxury. A wonderful surprise was that all the mountain-view rooms offer an unobstructed and stunning view of Mount Fuji, truly unique and beautiful, peaceful and serene. It's definitely worth staying here.
Even though the hotel isn't in a prime location around Lake Kawaguchiko, they provide a shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko train station, which takes about 10 minutes.
Another highlight for me was the hot springs. The male and female baths are separate, extremely clean, and quite modern. There are indoor and outdoor baths; the outdoor setting is particularly relaxing. The contrast between the warm spring water and the cold outdoor air creates a comfortable feeling of embracing nature with an open heart. However, it's not advisable to stay in the springs for too long; I was back in my room within twenty minutes. The hot spring experience is definitely one of my fondest memories of this hotel.
For dinner, the hotel offers French cuisine and Kaiseki. We ordered one of each. They were decent, but the presentation and dining experience were very impressive.
Right behind the hotel is the lake, where you can rent bicycles and cycle around, enjoying the beautiful scenery.
All in all, this hotel was excellent and exceeded my expectations.

Every time I go to Japan, I stay in a hot spring hotel. In fact, I can try this relatively western-style hotel. This hotel is divided into the main building and the new building. The main building sells nostalgic colors. Basically, the furniture and buried rooms are relatively dilapidated, but it is still considered clean. In terms of the new building, the decoration is obviously more modern than the main building, and it has also set up a lot of different furnishings and decorations. The rooms are also larger, but of course the price is more expensive.
The hotel itself serves French meals, and the dinner is a four-course French meal, including appetizers, soup, main courses and desserts. The waitresses will also help you take a picture during the evening meal, and they will take a photo with you The check out day is given to you as a souvenir, and it has a few characteristics.
In fact, there is a beach across the road outside the hotel. At night, you will see many people park their cars on the beach, and then stay there for camping and cooking. It feels chill!
There is a coffee machine in front of the hotel. It turns out that the coffee machine is provided free of charge for guests to drink. Although it seems that you have to pay for it, you can’t get into the money rack. You can drink coffee directly by pressing the button㗎 la!

Too biased. There are very few buses to arrive. There are four classes a day. Unless you drive by yourself, it is very inconvenient. The restaurant downstairs is too expensive. The taste is OK. The service is very good. The private bathroom room does not have a separate bath.
The bath is public.

Amazing
MM238400****I booked this room specifically for the Mt. Fuji view. It was much cheaper than other hotels in the area, but really, all you're getting is the view and a place to sleep. I hadn't booked a room with an outdoor hot spring, but there wasn't even a bathtub in the bathroom, nor a large public bath. For this price, I really think there should be a tub. For meals, sukiyaki was the only option, so thankfully I'd bought some ready-to-eat meals at 7-Eleven. The view was good though.
IinkakabibiThis is the 1st time we stay, suggest stay higher floor next time, the view will be better.
Nice food & nice staff. I like the breakfast a lot & the staff help us request a private room with fuji view too.
Lovely
KKanoksri K.The room is a comfortable size and offers a lovely view of Mount Fuji from the corner. It is clean and well equipped, with individual air-conditioning in the room. All the staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The hotel also has onsen facilities, including separate male and female as well as private onsen. Parking is available, located a short distance from the hotel.
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is fantastic, right in front of Lake Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji. You can even watch the weekend fireworks from your balcony. The indoor public bath offers a direct view of Mount Fuji, though the open-air one is a bit obstructed by a wall. Even though the hotel is a bit old, it's very well-maintained. The price is significantly lower than the popular hotels nearby. The breakfast and dinner buffets were a bit simple, but fair for the price. Overall, I'm very satisfied and would recommend it!
GGuest UserWas upgraded to a huge 4 person suite because weather was acting up so I think people cancelled. But nonetheless was happy with the resort. Didn’t stay long (only one day) but would want to stay more for the ammenities (tennis courts and such). Location is not convenient for anything else to be honest, requires a taxi or a booked bus service to get to town.
UUltiSLJHotel sells some souvenirs at its lobby, which is quite interesting. The room is a little run down because my room already had some broken stuff when I checked in.
Amenities are rather standard, though there was an ‘onsen fee’ of ¥150 per night per guest that I had to pay.
View from room is amazing though. Mount Fuji sitting on top of a forest. Talk about waking up with a view!
Carpark had enough lots, though I was surprised when it was full on one night as late January should be a off-peak season.
There’s also a few huge stores such as supermarket nearby, which is great for budget meals! (It too has a nice view of Mount Fuji)
Jjoeykhor97We had a wonderful stay at Royal Hotel Kawaguchiko with our family. The overall experience was very pleasant and relaxing. The meals were perfect—beautifully prepared and very satisfying. One of the highlights was the onsen located on the ground floor, which was clean, comfortable, and incredibly relaxing after a long day.
The atmosphere of the hotel is calm and welcoming, making it a great choice for families. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again when visiting Kawaguchiko.
LlastmintrvlWe booked this stay for the in-house public hot bath and the lakeside advantage. Check-in was smooth and fast with the staff providing a lot of information, events happening nearby and the different attractions. They spoke good English and was very helpful and informative.
The room was disappointing though. It was old, no functional furnitures. The seat covers were very old and with stains. Tv was too small for the size of the room. No convenient outlet near, we used a outlet that was meant for a lamp. Bedding was comfortable though. It is based on traditional house style.
The bath was wonderful, not crowded at all. Dont think its worth the price with its current fixtures and furnishing. Unless it was the room that faces the lake but for that they will charge extra.
Ssiufungjeh🌸 Hotel Mifujien – A Front Row Seat to Mt. Fuji’s Majesty
If you’re looking for unparalleled views of Mt. Fuji, look no further than Hotel Mifujien. Nestled right beside Lake Kawaguchiko, this hotel offers one of the most photogenic and soul-soothing panoramas of Japan’s most iconic peak.
🗻 The View: Absolutely Breathtaking
The highlight of our stay was the view — and it’s no exaggeration. Whether it’s early morning when the summit catches the first rays of sunlight, or during a serene sunset, the unobstructed view of Mount Fuji reflected in Lake Kawaguchiko is simply unforgettable. I woke up early just to capture a time-lapse of the sunrise, and it was worth every second of lost sleep. We also filmed a sunset time-lapse, and again, Fuji didn’t disappoint.
⸻
🚶♂️ Getting There: Worth the Scenic Walk
Although the hotel offers a shuttle bus pickup service, we chose to walk from Kawaguchiko Station — and it was a delightful decision. The 20–30 minute stroll is scenic and peaceful. We even stopped by a local supermarket for some ice cream while enjoying views of Mt. Fuji in the background. It was an experience that made us feel like locals soaking in a perfect day.
⸻
🛏 Tatami Rooms: Authentic and Comfortable
The tatami-style room was clean, spacious, and gave us a deeply authentic Japanese lodging experience. Sliding doors, futon beds, and traditional touches made our stay both relaxing and culturally immersive.
⸻
♨️ Hot Springs: Cozy, Not Crowded
The hotel features both indoor and outdoor onsen (hot springs). While not particularly large, they are a nice bonus to unwind after a day of exploring. Since they only accommodate a few people at a time, it’s best to avoid peak hours.
⸻
🍱 Meals: Included and Delicious
Our stay included both breakfast and dinner, and the food was outstanding. A beautifully arranged kaiseki-style dinner showcased seasonal ingredients, fresh sashimi, grilled seafood, and hot pots. Breakfast was equally satisfying with a variety of small dishes and a perfectly cooked grilled fish. Everything was crafted with care and served with hospitality.
⸻
📝 Suggestions:
• Bring a tripod if you’re planning to do photography or time-lapses — the view is too good not to capture properly.
• Try both the indoor and outdoor onsen during quiet hours to fully enjoy the experience.
• Use the shuttle service if you’re carrying large luggage, as the walk (while scenic) do take around 30 minutes.
⸻
⭐ Final Verdict: 9/10
Hotel Mifujien is all about the view — and it delivers. Combine that with great meals, clean traditional rooms, and hot springs, and you have the perfect base to enjoy Mt. Fuji in all its glory.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel staff can understand English and Mandarin, can communicate accordingly, and are very polite to guests. The facilities provided by the hotel are also good, and the hotel is next to the cable car attraction, which is very close and convenient. The hygiene is also good. Thanks to the staff for their help.
