Hotels near Castro District, San Francisco

Certainly is bare bones, but one of my favorite places to stay when going out at night in the city. Since I live in San Jose, I don’t want to uber back and forth and staying here for $60 is perfect. It is super clean and the owners are very kind.

A relatively clean place. The bathrooms were clean too, even if they were shared across all people on the floor. The hotel is close to many bars and restaurants. And getting to Mission District is only a few stops on the 22 bus.

The hotel didn't have a refrigerator available, which made my stay difficult. The location is very nice, bunch of good restaurants. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for affordability.

Staff are both very helpful but I hope they got atleast formal or uniform to wear so it won't be confused with who's working in the property. Carpets are a little bit worn but rooms are Clean. And breakage of mirror

The hotel is very conveniently located for attending the conference at Moscone Center. It is less than 10 mts walk. There is a BART station within 2-5 mts walk. The hotel location is downtown and you will find homeless people and drug users nearby. Especially at night need to be careful. The hotel staff are extremely nice and helpful. I really like the hotel because of the service attitude of the staff. The rooms are decently big, have adequate space for luggage, clean and well maintained. The bathroom is small. There is no separate hot water kettle and we have to use the coffee maker. They provide free coffee and tea . The free wifi connection was fine in my room. There is a fantastic breakfast place right next door. We did not opt for breakfast with our room booking. But we ate there many days. Excellent food and service! Their house potatoes, french toast, omelettes and other dishes were excellent. Must try! There is a shopping center and multiple eateries near by. Tried a few different food options, but did not have time for shopping. Overall Pickwick is a very good hotel and is value for money, especially for business travelers attending events/conference at Moscone center.

Super breakfast and good gym. Rooms are clean and nice.

Location is a bit rough, especially at night, but still a good place overall and close to public transit. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean, not too noisy when ac is on, and the breakfast is pretty good!

Hotel is in a great location. Room was a little tight, Staff very responsive to needs. Coffee, fruit, pastries and egg bites for breakfast.  Chairs in lobby need to be replaced. A bit worn.

We had a good stay at this hotel, with a great location. The hotel is old, but we really appreciated its historical charm, especially the beautiful staircases and the delightful elevator. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good, yogurt , bagels, cream cheese, oaks, apples and oranges, coffee. We felt that the price matched the quality of our stay perfectly.

The hotel itself is lovely, the staff were so friendly and the room huge and clean. The only downside we had was the amount of homeless and drug users in the road outside the hotel who were sometimes loud, we were advised to not walk the road at night and to never walk alone. The hotel was lovely though so if you can look past the people outside it’s worth it.
