Location - located on the western end of the Old Quarter. Closer to the HCM Masoleum, North Gate, Catholic Church, Tran Ngoc Pagoda. Takes about 30mins to walk to other end of the Old Quarter. Nice in the cool Hanoi weather. Hotel is located along a busy road, so expect traffic noise and honking at night. Room - I got a room facing the road and another building. So I had my window blind down the whole time. The room is a good size, but one side of the bed is against the wall and window so access is from the other sides. The bed is bigger than queen size, and is softer than I'd like but still comfortable. The bed in my room was on a platform that extended to the open closet section. So I had to climb up to the platform (about 40cm) to retrieve the clothes I had hung. Not great for older people. I think they have other rooms without the platform. Cleanliness - very clean, awesome Bathroom - the shower and toilet area are in the same large space. So the shower water gets the toilet wet. I moved the toilet paper roll to the shelf at the rear so that it wouldn't get wet. Bathroom is modern and water pressure is sufficient. Sink is outside the bathroom. Breakfast - for a small-ish hotel, there is a substantial breakfast spread with an egg station. I was impressed. Other things - 1) there is a community area outside the rooms with a fridge and TV so I guess it could noisy if people hung out there. 2) I paid a cash deposit of 500k VND which was returned when I checked out. A bit of a surprise. 3) There are no slopes at Vietnam hotel entrances so you'll need to carry your bag up some stairs to the front lobby. 4) The very loud fire alarm went off twice during my stay although there was no fire. The receptionist said the smoke detector was over-sensitive with the cooking fumes.

We loved our stay here that we booked again after we came back from Halong Bay and Cat Ba Island! The location is very strategic as it is near the Hang Dau Water Tower and the night market street along the Train Street. The rooms are big and clean, with necessary facilities. The breakfast is really good! The service is amazing, especially the front desk help us arrange our trip to Halong Bay/Lan Ha Bay/Cat Ba Island; they are really helpful! Thank you for accommodating us! If I go back to Hanoi, I will stay here again! Cam on! ^_^

Great location (about 20min walk from the old quarter), clean and relatively new studio. There is filtered water available, and the staff was friendly and responsive. The bed was comfortable and the place clean. Hot water was working well and there is AC and washing machine. The internet is a bit slow and although there is a stove, there are no kitchen equipment or tools to cook. Only a kettle and 2 glasses. Plenty of restaurants and markets nearby and in a local part, which is nice.

Comfortable Stay with Helpful Staff and Great Location We stayed here for two nights and arrived very early, around 5 a.m. The lobby was quiet, and the staff welcomed us warmly and assisted with our booking confirmation. They kindly offered an early check-in voucher, which we appreciated, but we chose to check in at the regular time instead. Our room was on the 6th floor facing the road and matched the photos shown during booking. It was clean and well maintained, and the bathroom and bathtub were in good condition. The room was equipped with a hair dryer, umbrella, bathrobe, slippers, amenities, toiletries, a safety deposit box, and complimentary drinks (no complimentary snacks). The view was limited, as another building blocked most of it. We used the breakfast and the small gym but skipped the swimming pool due to the weather. Breakfast was served on the 12th floor, and we chose a window seat overlooking the lake, which offered a lovely view. The food selection was quite good. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Daniel, Jason, and especially Sophie—she was exceptionally kind and supportive during our stay. The hotel’s location is quite strategic. Just a few meters away is their sister property, Le Jardin, and right next door there is an excellent pho restaurant with Michelin recognition at an affordable price—a must try. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and have no complaints. Thank you for the great hospitality.

The front desk service was excellent 👍. Whatever you need, you can just tell them. They speak fluent English, and some staff can speak a little Mandarin. It's relatively quiet, not close to the Old Town, but there are good places to eat near the hotel. I would definitely come back next time.

I had an excellent stay at Five Suites Lilacs. For the usual room price, I received a spacious suite with a living room and bedroom, plus a smart swivel TV usable from both spaces. The bathroom featured a smart toilet and clean, well-stocked shower. The staff were genuinely warm and even surprised me with a birthday cake, which made the stay special. Breakfast was decent, though the overall experience easily outshines that detail. A memorable stay with great value — highly recommended.

Amazing
YyorikAbsolutely delighted! The room was huge with all the amenities you could ask for: a fridge, TV, kitchen, and a large bed. Everything was easily accessible. The hotel's location is beyond praise, with everything within walking distance. Communication with the owner via WhatsApp was clear and straightforward. We had a late check-in and a late check-out, and everything went smoothly. If I ever find myself in Hanoi again, I'll definitely be back. A huge thank you to such wonderful hosts!
Ssarahsays____Don’t waste your time looking anywhere else in Hanoi—just book Classyc!
My husband and I travel quite frequently, and we can confidently say this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, every detail felt thoughtful, warm, and genuinely exceptional.
We initially booked the Grand Suite for 3 days and 2 nights before heading off on a Ha Long Bay cruise, then returned to Classyc for the remainder of our stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with cold towels, welcome drinks, and snacks—such a refreshing and thoughtful touch after traveling.
The service throughout our stay was impeccable. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always going above and beyond. Arthur personally escorted us to our room and even checked in with us later that evening via message to ensure everything was perfect. We were also welcomed with chocolates in the room, which made the experience feel even more personal.
It’s the little touches that truly set this hotel apart. We received complimentary wine vouchers, spa discounts, and consistently warm, attentive service at every interaction. When we returned from Ha Long Bay, it genuinely felt like we were coming home. Walking into our new room to find a heart-shaped chocolate mousse cake and a handwritten welcome-back note from the team was such a thoughtful and memorable surprise
There was also a moment that really reflected the hotel’s integrity and commitment to guest satisfaction. We had booked a signature spa package, not realizing it wasn’t included in the 20% discount promotion. While we didn’t raise any concerns, the staff proactively followed up the next day at breakfast, apologized for the confusion, and extended the discount to us anyway. We were genuinely touched by this gesture—it spoke volumes about how much they care about their guests’ experience.
On our final day, we had some time to spare before our flight. After exploring the city, we returned to the hotel and the staff kindly offered us access to the spa facilities so we could freshen up before heading to the airport—an incredibly thoughtful and appreciated gesture. They also arranged a luxury transfer for us, complete with comfortable seats and even a massage function, which made the journey that much more enjoyable!
As we were leaving, one of the staff members surprised us with a beautiful ceramic wind chime symbolizing positive energy and good luck. It was such a meaningful and heartfelt farewell, and a perfect end to an already unforgettable stay.
A few additional highlights worth mentioning:
- A great breakfast spread with plenty of variety
- A lovely rooftop pool area to unwind
- Reno Bar downstairs, which became one of our favorite spots in Hanoi—fantastic cocktails, delicious bar snacks, a cool retro vibe, and great music. During our visit with some friends they even surprised us with a complimentary tray of shots!
Classyc is more than just a hotel—it’s an experience defined by genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and heartfelt service. We’re already looking forward to our next trip to Hanoi, just so we can stay here again!
GGuest UserAll the staff were incredibly friendly. The breakfast was international, offering both European and Asian options. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the kitchen facilities were fully equipped, making cooking extremely convenient. (There's a small supermarket right by the hotel entrance with a few simple vegetables, frozen meats like steaks, and rice and noodles, which is perfect for basic cooking.) The gym was huge with a super comprehensive range of equipment. The hotel also has a small gate providing access to the lake, and there's a shuttle bus service to the city center.
EExpat EDventuresWhat a great location in the middle of the hustle in bustle! This hotel is a family owned and operated business. We met the owners son and wife who manage the property and they are lovely people and give great recommendation. Check-in was quick and seamless. They greeted us with welcome tea and gave us a map with a thorough briefing of the best places to eat and visit. They even ran our luggage up and had someone turn the AC on before we got in our room so it would be cool upon entry. The room was cozy and the bed had a supportive mattress but I am partial to the hard beds of Asia. Breakfast was at the top in a beautiful space and they made your eggs to order. I only wish the shower door did a better job of keeping the water in. We tried to book them after our HaLong Bay cruise canceled but sadly they were fully booked. We will be back!
RR41FNeeded a good night of test without noise from streets.
This was possible on the 7th floor according to the employee. The room was only five meters away from the road and I think the occupancy was about 25% Maximum. And this is royal measured. The window in the bathroom didn't even close.
I asked for another room away from the road and with windows that can close. I was offered another room. Again a window that was broken, but I fixed it in a way it's closed now. Lifted up the locking system at the side of the window, but it fell down, so now the window doesn't open anymore. Small window. There's also a big window. Because of having big windows these rooms are being considered to be executive rooms. Never reared about window size influencing the level of hierarchy.
But at the other side of the window there's a wall and it's a very creepy hole you stare in. I didn't really feel executive because of that. But still I got the one night of rest I needed to normally open my eyes again. It's creepy when you're so tired that your eyes just can't open anymore. Big fat eyes the next day.
Suddenly the younger girl behind the reception approach me with an extreme humble tone of voice telling me that it's actually an executive room. I literally asked myself if they had the gutted attitude to sell me an upgrade.
Never mind, relocation is coming anyways. Hanoi is a very dusty city. I mean extremely dusty. So dusty that the damage and harm it causes to visit this place really doesn't make yhe visit feels really worthy.
Also the communism is absolutely what didn't suit me personally at all. I am socially more developed.
In general I had the impression that they employees where friendly, but it's their job. Not their job to be aggressive as I experienced once when I just asked the question what sports Vietnamese people.like the most.
But this was in check out day. And the sinistry in the laugh of the male receptionist towards the taxi driver after they pushed me into.paying more for what I ordered online completely woke me up. But it's also weird yo say that the new owner is less kayak and in the meantime trying to sell me.more nights and saying I should return.
I completely don't understand this way of handling.
Asking 30% extra for a early check in. I saw yes when booked one or two nights, but when one booked a week then I would give it for free. In my case I understand that I needed to pay more for that 3 hour earlier checking in. But my explanation was clear. I need rest and lay down in normality, instead of walking on the streets wearing me out even more. The option offered didn't have anything to do with customer focus. More customer abuse in the most possible hardcore form. And this was the second accommodation in Hanoi where this abuse happened. I only had two accommodation totally indeed. Yes that's correct fellow traveller. Horror travel horror.
Now comes the materialistic reviewing:
Beds brand new and 100% awesome and healthy.
Spotless clean and even when you refuse room cleaning it still happens. Very need to do that. Amen to the cleaner lady.
Welcome Hall is pleasant.
Shower is nice.
It's very noisy in the front of the building, but I've only seen one room and I know that women follow the extinguishers agenda from Europe and I experienced this extremely in Vietnam. It even makes me feel.Viet Numb.
But that's a good sign. 7 days left and at least I've experienced a bit what the U.S. army experienced back then.
Viet Numb for me is more like a Tour of Duty.
I see a red door and I want to paint it black.
Communists not my people.
GGuest UserFantastic location to explore Hanoi’s famous train street and old town and local surrounding area from fruit stores to busy streets unfortunately didn’t get pictures of the room but they were very clean and spacious. Excellent customer service when helping us with grab taxis and locating a missing item we had left in a grab! Highly recommend for their service. Easy to get a trip to ha long bay from this hotel .
MMrsGhouliaStayed at Hoa Hoang Hotel for 3 weeks.
Service:
1. The front desk receptionist, Nga, is helpful, patient, and polite. She is always cheerful and attentive, even while handling calls and assisting other guests. She addressed my concerns clearly, answered all my questions, and is very pleasant to communicate with.
2. Breakfast buffet: staff is always on their feet. I see there’s two main servers, sometimes a third one. They’re very focused but it’s also because they have a lot of tasks - prep, cook, clean, replenish and clear all the dining tables. The tables are not always wiped down, but if you ask, they will address it immediately. Two weeks in, they hired a fourth server which was nice because tables were cleared and cleaned faster. There were a variety of food options with a few soup dishes that rotated each day. They serve mainly carbs and didn’t have many vegetarian options and not a lot of protein in general. They had breakfast chits that we would have to collect from the front desk each day and hand-in to the breakfast staff, they’re very on top of collecting the chits.
3. Room service: We never ordered food to the room. For a few nights, we did order dinner (rice, meat and a veggie dish). They can make anything you ask for either for lunch or dinner. If you don’t feel like going out, their cooking is quite tasty. We’d asked for new towels daily, our 2 water bottles, toilet paper and to empty our garage. We would ask to change or bedding every few days.
4. Rooms 614/615: 614 is the superior twin room and 615 is the superior queen room. My mom stayed in room 614 and my husband stayed in room 615 while I went back and forth. Furniture and flooring was exactly like in the photo online. Both rooms had working air conditioner and a ceiling fan and working mini fridge. TV in the rooms were not a SMART TV but we didn’t mind. The room cost the same although I don’t think room 615 is as nice as 614 since the washroom in 615 felt a bit older (the trimming had more mold and ceiling height was low). My husband who is 5 feet 8 inches (172 cm) would need to bow down to wash his head. Toilets flushed well in both rooms and water pressure was strong. There were tiny ants in both washroom floors and counters but it is Vietnam, we accepted it. Since it was not filled with them, it was not a concern. Beddings and towels are OKAY (meaning it was a pass for us) Some had light stains and tiny rips but it didn’t feel disgusting.
5. Cost: It was about $36 CAD after fees and taxes for each room, I booked a few nights online and a few nights in person which worked out to be around the same price after the conversion. Depending on the website promo, you may be able to get a better price per night online.
6. Location: calling for a taxi, grab, xanh sm takes a tiny bit of time because they’re on a one way street. But it’s walking distance to a park which is great!
Overall rating 3.7, I would say it is like a Best Western hotels/suites in Canada. Service and staff 4 star, building and rooms 3.5 star.
According to google, they are a 3 star hotel and I would agree. I would recommend a couple and family to stay. And I would return.
AAnonymous UserI’ve chosen this place because it was close to the airport. The first thing is I assumed that because it’s close it’ll be really easy to get there after arrival, but actually taxi drivers don’t want to go there because for them is better to get more money from the trip to the city center then driving you for five min to this hotel. Then after finally arriving the staff that will meet you won’t have any hint of a smile on their face and will treat you like you’ve pissed them off only with your disturbance of their peace, the morning shift by the way was exactly the same. The room itself was ok, just as I assumed by the pictures but with the closer look you can see that lots of breakage and damaged stuff in the room
SSophiie/!\ Avoid this hotel. We would never recommend this hotel for your stay in Hanoi.
Stayed 18-20 April 2025: 3 days, 2 nights.
1/ Overbooking situation - cancellation the day before landing
My friend and I booked two separate rooms to stay at this hotel, the day before the check in, my friend's booking got cancelled by the hotel without information. We had contacted the hotel several times in vain, then it was confirmed that they have overbooked the hotel which caused to trouble to start with our holiday.
Hotel Director of sales M. Victor N. did replied by email on the checking day 18/4 few hours before that ”we don't know the fact. You can make your reservation on our website now.” The remaining option on 18/4 morning was a ”suite” 14 times higher rate than our initial booking...
Therefore once arrived at Hanoi, we wanted to get a refund of my remaining booking but the hotel reception lady Mrs Ruby was not helpful at first and rude towards us. Her non hospitality professionalism and communication led us feel very unwelcomed (no smile, no thank you, speaking vietnamese with her colleague in front of us). May need to review if she really should stay at the reception as this is client facing interaction and should be solution driven.
She strictly insisted that she doesn't know why we only got one room left and my booking was non refundable even tough they did cancelled my friend's one few hours ago. After negotiation, she kept saying as it is non refundable, either we stay, either we book another room.
At that moment, there was an another room not the Suite one that just got available ”King room” and if we could pay the price difference which is higher than our initial paid booking and need to stay together in the same room.
As we just started the holidays and to not loose the money that we could not get refunded, we paid the difference to change to that room. We paid in cash to get that room.
We thought that was going to be just one off issue/misunderstanding and could start our holidays.
Note: If you pay in credit card they will charge 3% additional. The exchange rate is more convenient to change at jewelry gold shop in Hàng Bac street (5 mins walk), the rate at the hotel is too high, don't change there.
2/ Cleanliness
As we got this better king's room with window, we were expecting that to be at least clean and suitable for 2 pax.
The bed sheets and cushions were yellowish, the floor was not vacuum (dead bees staying there whole stay), the slippers are dirty, the wall is stained and some unfinished renovation. The worst is the shower/bathtub, once you shower, it will flood to the room, we had to put towels to absorb the water in the room.
You have to ask for towels if they clean your room as they will forget.
3/ Breakfast
Be aware that it is from 6:30am to 9:30am, the breakfast is correct as a mini buffet
Overall this hotel is average, the positive points are the location and the other gentleman receptionist allowing us to have a ”late check out” at noon instead of 11am, as if after noon they will charge one night more.
The hotel should stop with overbooking rooms that will cause unnecessary stress situation for everyone and need to be renovated.
To be honest, you can have much more great options nearby, CLEAN and with great hospitality service. As part of holidays and for a decent price, just book another hotel to avoid negative start for your holidays.
Enjoy your stay in Hanoi and in Vietnam!
PS: on some platform it is indicated there is a gym but there is none. And the hotel team is aware of these comments as we filled the same to their paper review form.
SSofda HdzI noticed almost imperceptible sweat stains on the pillow. The shampoo and shower gel bottles were almost empty. The air conditioning had a musty smell. However, the room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom was also good. The taxi service was reasonably priced, even cheaper than Grab, but the SIM card was much more expensive than what you could buy in the city. The owner is very friendly.
