We were a group of four people and one child. We originally booked two suites, but I didn't expect to be upgraded to a villa with a swimming pool. It was a pleasant surprise. The welcome fruit was also very good, and the service was even better. We booked tickets to the top of Borobudur on behalf of us, and there was a special driver to pick us up. It felt like a VIP throughout the trip. The hotel is located on the hillside, and the scenery is superb. When the visibility is good, you can see two volcanoes and the Borobudur scenic area.

Located halfway up the mountain, when you enter it, it's like entering a black shop, but there is another shop in the dark, and the scenery is good. Awesome setting, high above the town with the Borobudur Temple visible off in the distance. The common area and bedrooms have traditional decor. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious. The bedroom includes modern amenities, such as multiple charging ports, a/c and a writing table. For added protection, the bed had mosquitoe netting that did not appear to be needed when we were there. The internet signal was strong throughout the property. There is no tv. The pool was clean and inviting. The facility provides transporation to nearby sites and can arrange transport throughout the region. The staff was warm and accommodating. Food was simple and delicious. They had a well stocked bar and offered a good selection of wine. Caution...the steps from reception to the rooms and pool are steep. This is not the best location for patrons with physical disabilities. On site they have a wonderful vista for sunrise and sunset viewing.

This is a gorgeous gorgeous hotel. It's located on a hill facing Borobudur and Sumbing volcano. The property is so beautiful and the villas are just breathtaking. They even have a tea place to watch sunrise that they will drive you to if you ask. It's like right next to Amanjiwo, just as beautiful, and at a faction of the price. The staff is so helpful, we got driver and car for excursions and they are all top notch. I can't say enough good things about this place. The only thing to mention is that the villas are built on a pretty steep hill, so if you have mobility issues, make sure they don't give you a villa toward the top of the hill. Also, the call to prayer will wake you up at insanely early hours. But it's like that everywhere and nothing you or the hotel can do. Just take it as your sunrise wake up call.
