This hotel is a very nice place to stay, esp if you book it at the under 150 bucks rate that it is available year round except for the Xmas and New Year period. Even with the high season last minute dynamic pricing highway robbery rates we booked, and with all our requests for room type being ignored thanks to a third party booking site, we were pleased with the stay. Thanks to the diligent staff, esp Lydia who worked hard to make sure we got a room with most of the features booked, we had a very nice stay at a very busy time. The staff is exceptional and with loss of functionality in half the electric outlets in our room, they rapidly sent repair staff late at night to fix a tripped circuit. The balconies provide views of the beach - be sure to ask for a high floor or you will be stuck above the noisy restaurant/bar. Rooms seem newly renovated and are very comfortable. Beds are very comfortable. The only negative was the horrible mayhem at breakfast and the overworked and clearly miserable staff who could not keep up with the almost animalistic behavior of the hungry tourist masses. It was hard not to sympathasize with their disdain, trying to remain polite as guests demand four egg omlettes piled with 10x the normal volume of ingredients- or waste endless bowls of food they had to replenish. Breakfast was simply unpleasant, but was as much due to fellow guests as the tired staff. One thing to consider is that it will cost you a significant amount in Uber or taxi fees to and from Cape Town and it takes at least 35 minutes each way, without traffic, and longer, if things are busy. If you plan on being in town daily, you may want to stay somewhere closer. But if you need a break from the city, this is a very nice place to take it.
