この日の私たちの宿泊先は、湯野浜温泉にある「亀や」でした。湯野浜温泉は、はるか昔、傷を負った一匹の亀が砂浜で温浴していたのが始まりなんだそうで、1000年のの歴史を持つ温泉です。「亀や」は、湯野浜温泉の始まりの伝説をその名にしている、江戸時代創業という老舗旅館です。 私たちの客室はリトリートルームという、リニューアルされたツインベッドルームを持つ部屋でした。部屋の窓からは湯野浜の海岸が見渡せて、ちょうど夕日が真正面の日本海手に沈んで行く様子を眺めることができました。 夕食の「仏蘭西会席」も、朝食の「小鉢御膳」も、見た目に美しく、とてもおいしくいただきました。特に夕食は、和フレンチ的なコース料理で、素晴らしかったです。

スタッフは対応いい。 目の前か海で障害物は何もないから夕日が綺麗にみれます。 皇室も泊まった旅館。 大浴場は洗い場も多く、ストレスは感じない。

庄内地方を巡るツアーで宿泊しました。格安のツアーだったので宿泊も期待していませんでしたが、この旅館にはびっくりしました。入り口の門からのアプローチ、入り口には羽黒山の「松例祭りの引き綱」が飾られてあります。広いロビーのインテリアも素晴らしく、ウェルカムドリンクのカウンターもあります。フロントの前にはショップがありますが、よくあるお土産屋ではなく、山形周辺の伝統工芸品も扱うセレクトショップのようです。1階の奥には蔵のような地元の日本酒が飲める店もあります。エレベーターで上がった客室はかなり広めの畳敷きの部屋に大きなベットが2床置かれてあります。その奥は板張りになり、ソファが置かれてあります。ここは床暖房になっているのでごろ寝するのも気持ちよいです。大きな窓からは日本海が見渡せます。食事はツアーの会席料理でしたが、料理長のセンスの良さを感じる地産の食材を使った美味しい料理がこれでもかと出てきます。朝食は別の大広間で他の宿泊客と同じでしたが、松花堂弁当のようなセットの手の込んだ料理でした。SNS映えする美味しい料理でした。温泉も素晴らしく大浴場には大きな湯舟とヒノキ風呂と露天風呂がありました。翌朝は海岸に出てみると北側には鳥海山がきれいに見えました。ホテルのスタッフの方の気配りも素晴らしく、夕食時には残った焼酎ボトルに氷を用意して部屋で飲めるようにしてくれました。久しぶりに良い旅館に泊まった気がしました。
