SureStay Plus by Best Western Reading North

All staff we interacted with were great. Housekeeping could be a bit more thorough, but nothing outrageously bad.

This is our go to place to stay when we visit Reading. I undersrand the hotel is undergoing changes but that should not effect service. We were told they are short staffed so only rooms that are checked out will be cleaned but that ours would be cleaned anyway. Our room was never cleaned despite being told it would be. My husband had to go to the front desk twice for towels and we had to empty our own trash. If I wanted to tend to my own room I would have stayed at an Airbnb. The fridge was unplugged when we checked in. We plugged it in only to find out the fan made a clunky noise when it turned on and off. Someone at the hotel said it would be looked at. It never was. The food.prep room is located off the fitness room. The food server is in and out of the kitchen constantly and uses the metal door stop which makes a loud bang when she goes thru the door. The smell of food and the door banging makes for a distracted workout. Wokring out after breakfast is over is best. Maybe part of.the renovation should be to move the fitness room. Also people were spitting on the ground in the parking lot which is disgusting. We had to make sure to look down and be mindful of where we walked. Maybe move the smoking area away from all entrances so we don't have to walk thru and smell tobacco as we enter or exit. All in all this was our worst stay ever and probably won't return until the transition is done.

Check in was easy. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfy. The bed was very comfortable.

I can attest to the rest of the reviews about the woman at the front desk being Very nasty. I don’t want to tear another woman down but I don’t if that’s family or not but she atleast needs to take a class or be spoken to about her behavior because of how bad it is looking on the company and the manager makes it no better, allowing the woman’s attitude as if this is the norm for them. Some rooms were messed up to the point the door didn’t lock or close completely, or the lock was half way off the door. The manager making changes that were not made before while we were staying there. I just didn’t feel comfortable there basically. You get exactly what you pay for here the best thing about this motel was the breakfast every morning. Hopefully nobody else has to experience what me and my partner did. .

Everything was great from the time we walked in until we left. I just wish they would consider putting families with small children on the first floor, it sounded like Romper Room at 0730. And the one door in the back of the building didn’t close right so anyone off the street could have walked in. Check in/out was easy, room was clean, bed was comfortable, decent water pressure and a good selection of channels on tv to fall asleep to.

That hotel has many cockroaches and the beds are very small. It was not what they showed me in the photos and they gave me a different room than the one they promised me.

We enjoyed the service and the hotel. The only problem we had was the fridge was loud sounded like we went were in a wind tunnel. Couldn't sleep all nite
