I have stayed at The Artist Colony in the past and it was maintained and clean. Unfortunately this is no longer the case. It is run down and our room was not clean. The shower had hairs in it and the toilet was not clean. It had been used and debris still in it. I informed front desk and after the girl inspected it she apologized and got cleaning supplies to clean toilet and shower. The floors hadn’t been swept and cleaned and we had to wear socks during our visit. When we got our showers later the water wouldn’t drain and the exhaust fan was caked with an inch thick of dust so it wasn’t working properly. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our room and we no longer recommend The Artist Colony Inn.

A Charming country inn, we were greeted with a smile and immediate attention. Our room was on third floor ( yes there is an elevator ) and our room was clean and neat. It was small however it was all we needed. Bathroom clean and efficient. It is quite cold out and the proprietor immediately went up to our room and adjusted the heat so it would be warm and comfortable when we finished our dinner. It was very nice. Breakfast was included with our stay.

I have been coming to Nashville Indiana for years to relax and getaway for a bit. I’ve stayed here a couple times before and this time it was FILTHY!!! Dust, mold, hair in the tub and shower etc…. I’m not very picky, but this place was really bad!! I added some photos of it, but not all of them! Avoid this place if you want a clean room!! There was literally mold right above my head on the vent, cobwebs in several places in the room, dust EVERYWHERE

A bit pricy. Rooms were nice, well located in the center of town with access to shops. a bit noisy during the day due to its location, no pool. Nice place, but the dining room had layers of dirt ground into the wood floor, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly in months. 😫

The location couldn’t be better - right in the center of town – near all the shops and restaurants. We had a great room (John Bohall Suite #211), which is across from the main hotel, next to shops. There was a bedroom separate from the living room. There was also a small kitchenette. It was nice to have a little fridge for our leftovers – for our late night snacks. The furnishing were unique – not generic hotel furniture. We felt as if we had an apartment right in the center of town! We would definitely stay here again. The only reason for 4 stars - is that the hotel really could use a little updating. Our room came with free breakfast in the restaurant, which was a great deal. It was unlimited “buffet,” the waitress brought the items you ordered. Generally, standard Midwest breakfast fare, but satisfying.

The bed was terrible. Location great and the building is nice. The staff seemed steeped in procedure. We got there about a half an hour early and were told to come back to check in without anyone checking to see if the room was ready. The parking was a plus and the window was easy to open.

My wife and I ate lunch at the restaurant area. The food quality was marginal and the drink glasses are relatively small. Our drinks were $3.20 each and our lunch sandwiches were $11.95 each which we felt was over priced. Their menu options seem to have increased in price. We won’t be coming back anytime soon.

This is an ok place to stay, but I feel overpriced for what you get. I think you pay for being located conveniently to downtown. It cost me the same as Marriott with river view. I had a high 4 poster bed that the sideboard hit my legs getting in and out. Bed had clean, but very thin, worn sheets. Mattress is not encased, only a very worn, thin pad covering ( yes, I check for bedbugs). You then get a well worn quilt to cover over the tissue thin sheet. Bathroom is old. Little tv in a cupboard. Didn't turn on, don't know if worked. Room seemed clean. I would not pay this price for this quality again.

The room looked nice, but I hardly got a wink of sleep all night. The mattress was lumpy and the lights from the room next door shined brightly in our window all night long. The next day I found 3 large welts from bed bugs or spider bites on my upper leg; it's been a week, and they're still there! The shower was plugged with water 10-11 inches high, so I had to try to re-wash my legs. After I left, I called back to suggest I get a small refund for not even having a functioning shower. All they would do is give us a small discount on our next trip. Do they actually think we'd ever come back there????
