The place is really nice! However the value for money could be improved adding some extra breakfast time and variety and some additional amenities.

I do not have enough good things to say about this incredible place. I spent 3 weeks here for my yoga teacher training and never wanted to leave! So many beautiful animals all around, not to mention the waterfalls, water pools, and very remote beach nearby. I also want to mention that the food was absolutely phenomenal. I know previous reviews talked about the food not being the best, but the staff has worked incredibly hard learning new recipes and it was some of the best vegan/vegetarian food I have ever had. These three weeks were some of the best of my life and I cannot recommend coming here and supporting the conservation efforts of this family enough.

This was our first visit to Tiskita Jungle Lodge, and we stayed for 4 nights. We had an absolutely incredible experience. This place is beautiful, nestled in the rain forest and constantly buzzing with the sounds of cicadas, tree frogs, and waves crashing in the ocean. During one rainforest walk we saw butterflys, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, three-toed sloth, white nosed coati, agouti, lots of birds, as well as lizards. Then we went to the waterfall, and went into a set of 5 jungle pools that were above the waterfall. The on site naturalist does daily, and evening, jungle walks so make sure you join these to get the most out of this experience. We also had some amazing meals, served in the common lodge and were always super fresh, leaning towards vegetarian though we also had chicken and fish, and very flavourful. There are no televisions so be prepared to use the grounds as your entertainment, or go to the beach and jump in some waves or walk the sand. There is a pool and an honor bar on the grounds as well. It can be difficult to get to, and If you are coming from San Jose, I would recommend the small plane flight from San Jose direct to Tiskita, operated by Aero Caribe. This eliminates a flight on Sansa and then either a long car ride or a boat transfer. Would highly recommend Tiskita as an alternative to the all inclusive resort experience, you won’t regret it.

We spent 2 nights at Tiskita and we really loved being surrounded by all of the jungle. It was an amazing setting with abundant wildlife. We saw so much wildlife, and even more on our rainforest guided walk with the lovely Rosa (squirrel monkeys, lizards, white face monkeys, vultures, agoutis, acoutis, butterflies and so much more). The description Rosa gave helped us to understand the environment so much better than had we have just wandered off on our own. She told us about their life cycles and their development, their biology and their habitat in such a great way. It would have been nice to have been informed about all of the hotels activities on check-in so we could have organised our time a bit better. We weren’t aware there was a night walk we could attend until about 5 minutes before it was going to start, at which point it was 8pm and we had already changed, but if we were told in advance, we would have prepared ourselves to be ready for it. We also didn’t realise that the food was a set menu - with set dining times. It would have been good to know this before too, as one member of our party missed several meals due to surfing for most of the day, so we would have preferred to just choose some light snacks throughout the day instead. All of the staff were really friendly and clearly eager to please. Tiskita lodge was a lovely stay, but not quite the luxury we had anticipated; perhaps through our own fault or perhaps through some marketing that makes it appear more luxurious than it is - don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful, but you’re paying for the setting and Rosas expertise more than anything else.

We booked a guided nature walk with Rocio - I cannot express enough how incredible it was! Rocio has a deep knowledge and passion for what she does and it was a joy to walk through this paradise with her. Thank you!!

I spent 1 week here on a yoga retreat. The property is stunning It is remote - no stores, no restaurants (except on property) Once you are here, you stay The staff, the owners are phenomenal. The owners are very welcoming and so personable They go above and beyond to make you happy. Alanna and her husband, and Alannas Mom - Elizabeth are absolutely lovely! Lets talk food! Each meal was better than the last; I could not decide which meal was the best They were all so good! Highly recommend if you like a real jungle, rustic experience

This is one of the best eco lodges in Costa Rica, for many reasons. Beach front surfers paradise with long walkable beaches, turtle sanctuary/ release program, backs onto natural forest steep mountains with its own waterfall/ swimming hole in the jungle. This is an old fruit farm with many many fruit trees which everything eats naturally. Birds from several ecosystems, amphibians and mammals. Yes sloths(with baby), squirrel monkeys(with babies), howler monkey off your deck white faced monkeys treating apart Jack fruit in front of you. All naturally, caterpillars turning into cocoons right infront of you, so many types of frogs. Your bungalow is surrounded by forest and is super loud for those that aren't ready for it! Be aware of that! Nice spacious bungalow that never ran out of hot water and staff keep it clean. So much fresh fruit at breakfast and pretty much anything you wanted. Lunch, supper, all done with dietary needs happily addressed and always confirmed to your liking. The staff are happy to engage and happier to assist you in every way. Scarlett macaws, and a very long list of bird species identified in hours. Regret not spending many days here and the area. I don't go back to many places in the world twice but this one I will spend more time at next time!

My wife and I went here for the second half of our honeymoon and it was truly an amazing way to finish our time in Costa Rica. It was an interesting experience getting to the lodge as it is quite remote, but the remoteness added to the charm of the lodge. It is also not a cheap place to stay, but in my opinion, it was worth it. We enjoyed all of the wildlife that could be seen around the property. We saw three species of monkey, agoutis, koatis, and many species of colourful birds all from our room. The jungle pools and waterfall nearby were idyllic places for a swim surrounded by jungle. The tour guide, Mario, was knowledgeable and friendly and helped to point out various animals on our walks including 6 sloths in one afternoon. The food was delicious and the rooms were clean. We were both so pleased with it and have wonderful memories of our honeymoon. We would both like to return in the future,

I spent 5 weeks at this amazing jungle lodge and it was the best time of my life! This place is a piece of heaven. The monkeys playing in the trees, there is so much wildlife and the knowledge of the owners about nature and the trees and the animals is incredible! A must stop if you are in the area
