Cala del Porto Resort

Spend some time here and you're sure to get great service. We booked this hotel for a week and after the first night the air conditioner broke. After a very hot and sleepless time, we were placed in a second air-conditioned room. We were told that we should have stayed in a smaller room the night before (as we would have preferred an air conditioned room). To our surprise, we were placed in a suite. Thank you very much to the hotel for this, we were treated like this on another night.

The Leading Hotels has always been a guarantee for services but this time I had to ask if they are still part of the category given that the services were very poor everywhere! Very young employees, nice, but certainly without hotel school or training courses... It was evident from how they moved, how they spoke with you... The cleanliness in the rooms was poor (dirty windows, cleaned with the rag up to where the cleaning had reached employee...) The parquet washed with unsuitable products resulting in streaks everywhere. The pool was cleaned with a small robot and then they washed the external floor of the pool with the water jet hose. So all the dirt on the floor ended up in the pool🙇‍♀️ Poor services everywhere, including on the beach which, you should know, is about 10 minutes from the hotel. They take you with the shuttle and on the way back you wait about 30 minutes before they come to pick you up... then the service is in groups... not individually per room (we had suites). You should know that the umbrella costs €80 per day and the gazebo costs €200 and more. (worthy service from Leading😃) Moral: beautiful landscape! Don't be fooled by the photos taken well by masters in communication! The hotel is not up to five stars and even less than a Leading Hotel!!! I hope the chain realizes to remove the badge...

Poor general organization, they are kind but for a 5-star it is impossible to get to the pool and the lifeguard does not have sunbeds because they are broken, we book transfers and they forget so we had to make do .. only point: the food

The structure in the port of Punta Ala has several 5-star pluses: - wonderful location - quiet area - comfortable rooms with large / spacious bathroom - excellent beach service Unfortunately, however, there is a dark side that is the dissatisfaction of both my wife and mine for what happened between Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 July 20220: i) Saturday morning on the trip from Rome to Punta Ala we had to call over and over again to have the beach service confirmed; in the first and second phone calls we were promised that we would be called back and no one showed up though; ii) upon arrival at the resort around 13:15 / 13:00, water and / or sparkling wine were offered / not offered with little professionalism and apparent rudeness iii) the toilet available to guests, used by my wife during check-in, always around 13:15 / 13:00 she was dirty with the basket overflowing with dirty handkerchiefs iv) returning after the afternoon to the beach on the beach, the second check-in took forever since the 'clerk could find neither name nor room number (pity that the first check-in took place 8 hours earlier and you had our luggage) v) TV remote control and reading lights on the headboard KO vi) at dinner at the restaurant, even if in the presence of very good food and wines, the waiters / waitresses are too informal, almost farmhouse style ("guys, what will I bring you", "now you get a snack") vii) as mentioned, total defensive shield when asked to speak with the hotel manager ... fear ?? bah a bit 'hard to understand ... SIN!

Excellent feedback, magnificent location above the port and in complete tranquility. Our room was simply delightful: fabric upholstery stretched on the walls, coordinated colors and furnishings, nothing out of place and nothing in excess, the true charm that pampers you. But not all rooms are at this level, others are much simpler. However, the hotel is very well looked after, the entrance, the dining room, the swimming pool, everything brings back a simple and not overwhelming luxury, nothing exceeds the excessively heavy and sumptuous. The pool towels are simply wonderful: huge, embroidered and personalized, made of heavy, soft cotton, truly chic. A hotel to take into consideration, in Punta Ala, even in comparison to certain old glories.

The location is wonderful, perched above the port of Punta Ala with a view of it and the gulf with archipelago islands, all seasoned with peace and the colors and scents of the place. The structure has its strong point in the panoramic swimming pool but then you see the signs of time from the sign at the entrance to the bathrooms with old sanitary ware and taps (no mixer) despite the generally pleasant room. The service is the crux of my review: cleaning lady who I have to chase to access the room after breakfast to use it a few minutes before going out (she had to answer immediately and came back later!), Receptionist who tries in every way to justify the low temperature in a of the rooms of the suite only to discover that they had left the air conditioning set at the end of September. But, listen, listen, while I was going out, I accidentally handed over the car keys together with the room, and after waiting for friends on a trip, I desperately looked for them and asked if I had given them to him by mistake (the external car park provides for the delivery of the keys if you want the porterage to have it brought to you), when the answer is negative I try sweating for another 15 minutes but convinced that the only place it could be with them and we discover that they had labeled them incorrectly... general apologies and a smile after the effort and stress experienced I think it was the worst behavior professional never immediately! The customer tells himself that he is always right but above all if he is wrong he must find a "concrete" way to make amends. Unacceptable. The restaurant is better for both cuisine and service even if some courses are too fusion influenced (scallops). In essence it is not a 5 star (and does not deserve these prices), at least not anymore...
