"The hotel is located in a isolated location in the countryside near the country of hvosollur. There is a restaurant inside with prices in line with Iceland. There is a great buffet breakfast with sweet and salt in the morning. The room was clean and well heated. Great for those who love nature, they need a car to reach it."
"We stayed in a little hut which was very cosy and warm even though it was quite cold outside. The hut was equipped with hot water, stove, water boiler and cutlery. Unfortunately no oven but that was totally fine. The location was perfect: a few minutes drive outside Hvollsvollür. Would totally stay there again <3"
"We had a fantastic stay at North Star Cottages. The cottage was clean and well appointed. We arrived to a warm, snug cabin after a day of walking in the rain, and it had everything we needed for a short one night stay. We were a family of four and we brought food to prepare. The kitchen had everything to cook, eat, and wash up. Beds were comfy and the shower was hot. Really great place."

"Very close to the Seri Yalan Waterfall, about ten minutes drive. We stayed here on the return trip. The room was a bit cold at night. The flour outside at sunrise in the morning was very good. Breakfast was basic."
"The hotel is located not far from the main road and is easy to find, the surrounding area is dark enough at night to see the stars.
We never saw staff in our 2 night stay but check in was easy as there was a phone available to call the staff.
The room is clean but very small, after opening up our luggage there was nowhere to stand. The room can really use a few more hooks on the wall for hanging up coats and outer gear.
The bathroom is clean but a bit dim and the water from the shower runs into the rest of the bathroom. There is very little space to put toiletries.
There is a pantry upstairs with hot water, tea and hot chocolate. There is also a dining and living area with a pool table, which is nice.
During our stay there was a crazy storm and the whole house was shaking from the wind, which was a bit scary. The windows in the room were not air tight so the wind was howling through the gaps. It was a bit loud and cold. "
"Best stay in Iceland! We received a super warm welcome upon our arrival. The hosts welcomed us with their homemade chocolate coffee cakes and cookies. The room was lovely and cosy and had an equipped kitchen and also a dining area. The hostel lobby also has a large kitchen where you may use any of the cooking supplies they provided. Each room had an easy access to the backyard with a lit up Christmas tree. The front of the hostel had an outdoor built hot tub for guests to use.
Overall it was exceptionally nice, we loved our stay at The Garage."

"It’s a nice boutique hotel and with welcoming staffs. The food is good esp the curry, excellent.
The room size is perfect but the toilet is a bit too small. But well, it’s obvious nth we can do with that."

Amazing
LLaurie DaviesAbsolutely stunning location, with amazing facilities including a great restaurant and a spa which is certainly unique for a hostel! The rooms were cozy, the staff were lovely. What more could you want! I would definitely recommend this place, and hope to visit again.
XXIAOJUN JIANGThe hotel is easy to find, right next to Skogafoss waterfall. As other reviews, breakfast and service is good. I love the Lavazza coffee machine the most. The powdered chocolate saved my life when I got so cold and hungry after hiking!
AAnonymous User💯💯💯 recommend Lindartun Guesthouse!
Stayed here for 1 night on 1st October 2024 after our drive to Highlands and got here when it was already dark but i loved the drive to the junction from the main road to the guesthouse.
It was pretty dark around the area which we thought we could be lucky for aurora sightings but it was cloudy. Luckily, I asked the owner when was the last aurora sighting at the guesthouse and she immediately opened her laptop and that’s when I found put there’s aurora forecast website in Iceland. She was the one that let us know there’s higher chance to spot aurora on the upcoming friday due to clear sky.
Oh btw, for our check-in process, when I first arrived and entered the guesthouse, please take off your shoes by the entrance, and go to reception area infront of the kitchen and take the house phone to call the owner.
We booked room no. 5 which cones with a sofa bed and the long toom was so cute and cozy. This is the cutest guesthouse room design among all 13 accoms across the country during our trip. I really loved it a lot as the room was long and spacious.
The common dining area was really nice and big which I didn’t really spend time here. But I used the kitchen the next morning to boil hot water and make myself my hot chocolate and instant mushroom soup.
Worth my money. Will book again if I visit Iceland again next time!
How I’d described it:
Lindartun (Cute Cozy Homey Vibe)
Room Type: 1 Queen Bed + 1 Sofa Bed
Toilet: Private Bathroom (clean and big)
Perks: Nice kitchen and dining area
Thank you for helping me out with my aurora hunting and for maintaining a really cute and nice guesthouse, owner!
Cchen jingjian/Not bad, the location is convenient, the room is not big, but it is very clean and tidy, the service staff is also very good, there are also not far from the place, there are some small shops to buy food, in short, this city is also a satisfactory over-type hotel , have the opportunity to come back to stay
GGuest UserThe hotel is new, but the smell is quite strong, especially on the roadside. There's no kettle, which is a bit inconvenient; you can get water at the restaurant. The bathroom design isn't very well thought out; water splashes everywhere when you shower, and there's no dry or wet separation, which needs improvement. The breakfast is simple, with limited options. A recent visitor with children is cautious about smells. The smell might improve by the end of 2025, but with so few options along the way, I think it's fine for one night.
LLC1807It was past 8 when I arrived at the hotel that night, the restaurant was closed, and the waiter took out a simple map and patiently explained the location of the nearby restaurant. Breakfast is buffet style, richer than expected and very satisfying. The hotel layout is very chic, many hiccups. There is free parking space, convenient location, only 5 minutes away from the lava exhibition hall Lava Centre .
JJürgenOne in advance, the image currently used by Trip.com shows another hotel. The Hotel Skoga has a dark rooftop and is now quite awaiting. This is, together with the price, also the biggest criticism point. To offer an old house with small rooms for this price is simply unshameful, even for Icelandic conditions. In addition to the state of the building, the small rooms and the price there was nothing to expose, cleanliness and breakfast were okay. For €50 less per night it might even be worth a recommendation, but not under these circumstances.
SStevenIf there are a lot of luggage, it is not recommended to choose a tent because a little distance must be carried. The public kitchen is fully equipped and clean, and the shower room is a little crowded.
GGuest UserAs a youth hostel, it is very good and very clean. The staff Adam was very good. We went to the waterfall to shoot the wedding and came back late. After the check out time, Adam specially opened the door for us at lunch time. Thank you very much!
