Hotel Angelo d'Oro

The Trevisol apartment (separate from the actual hotel) was absolutely perfect for our two-night stay in late September. It was large, with a well-equipped kitchen, sizeable living room, and comfortable bedroom; the bathroom, with a somewhat awkwardly placed shower, was nonetheless quite large and well-equipped. We were really pleased with the service of the staff, from the shuttle driver who met us at the hotel's parking lot and took us across the peninsula to our room to the desk clerk with whom we settled our accounts, to the second shuttle driver who arrived promptly at the appointed time to return us to our car. The apartment was on the third floor in a building without a lift; prepare yourself for a hike, BUT what awaits is perfect. Our room had a view of Santa Katerina island and the open sea, which was lovely. We'd love to return!
Spirito Santo Palazzo Storico

We absolutely LOVED Hotel Spirito Santo!! In planning our holiday, I spoke with/emailed the hotel several times regarding our plans, arrival, etc., and they could not have been more helpful. The friendly, well-trained staff arranged to have a taxi meet us at the rental car drop-off when we arrived in Rovinj after a long day at Plitvice NP, and quickly got us checked in, taking our bags to our room while we sat in the airy, light-filled interior courtyard enjoying a welcome drink. The hotel is nestled in a quiet part of the Old Town, in a collection of buildings brilliantly renovated and cleverly designed to make the best use of the space, creating a charming overall effect, with exposed brick, open terraces and a lovely sense of place. Our room, Monte, was large and airy with views of the sea. The bed was made using high-quality linens on a excellent mattress and the bathroom set-up was well-thought-out, with fluffy towels and bathrobes, high-end bath products, a bidet and a heated towel bar. The hotel also provided beach towels. We had a little, private roof-top terrace that we entered via a small stairway through a retractable glass roof. The views were stunning, and it was a delightful place to enjoy an excellently prepared cocktail after a busy day of sightseeing and swimming. The hotel was kept spotlessly clean, and Tanya worked very hard to keep everyone happy with a beautiful breakfast buffet and eggs to order. The staff provided excellent concierge services, such as making touring and restaurant suggestions/reservations and arranging for a private car to drive us to Venice at the end of our stay. Rovinj and Hotel Spirito Santo were one of the highlights of our trip. NOTE: Due to its design and layout, the rooms are accessed via stairs, and the hotel has no elevator, so if you have mobility issues, contact the hotel before booking, as this may not be the place for you.
Maistra Select Island Hotel Istra
4.3/542 Reviews
Let me start by saying that the location of this hotel is idyllic, with wonderful views. I have stayed in many wonderful hotels around the world: however, this hotel was not one of them! The Maistre Select Island Hotel Istra did not live up to its four star rating. The accommodation is rather basic, rooms dated and in need of modernisation, and buffet restaurant reminiscent of a noisy works canteen. The constant miserable penny pinching of the hotel management became tiresome during our eleven day stay, some staff ok but many others miserable, unhelpful and rather rude. Pros: Plentiful sun loungers, nice swimming pools, great view from room, good air con in room (swiftly fixed when I complained it wasn’t working), punctual and efficient ferry service. Cons: sp**** and utilitarian bedrooms, only two useable power sockets: outdated bathroom (I flooded ours the first time I had a shower, as the shower screen didn’t fit - I had to shower every time by crouching in the bath while holding the shower head aimed at the bath plug): a strange storage area where I couldn’t hang any of my dresses as wardrobe not full length, although I could hardly reach the rail: storage cupboards out of reach: miserable dank balcony that the sun never reached: expensive drinks all over the hotel and island: one bath towel and one small hand towel each, so thin and worn that I would have consigned to the bin: if you wanted a beach towel it was €4 each time. The thing that annoyed me most, however, was discovering that although our room had a tray with a kettle and two mugs, that was it….no coffee, tea or milk provided. Luckily, I had taken a box of tea bags, so when we arrived mid afternoon after a long journey, I went to ask for some milk…however, I was charged €2 for a tiny jug! As we were staying for 11 nights on half board, and had paid a considerable amount of money for the privilege, I felt this was excessive. When I queried this sum, the staff were both hostile and indifferent. I helped myself to sufficient milk for subsequent tea making from the buffet restaurant at breakfast time. This one incident enraged me to the extent that I will never return, and will not recommend to anyone else! In conclusion, i would say it would be better to stay in beautiful Rovinj, and just visit the island. if you asked me how I would rank this hotel, I would place it lower than the Travelodge at Worksop, but marginally better than the holiday camp at Minehead!
Eden Hotel by Maistra Collection
4.3/545 Reviews
This was the perfect base for exploring Rovinj. Rooms have been renovated and are nice, opt for sea view if possible. Breakfast was good, dinner was a bit hit or miss, we didn't stay long when having dinner as no atmosphere but it did the job before our nightly walk into town. Do visit the other hotels in the collection as they are really lovely as is the town itself. When we were there it was the international Salsa festival which understand happens every June, I would avoid if you don't want to be around dancers all day and night, they could be slightly annoying. Stone beach was great, and the pool looked good too, all free of use for hotel guests. Rovinj was lovely and the surrounding area is spotless and we felt safe wondering around at night. We would return sometime in the future.

Wonderful stay …staff was incredible . Wish every place I stayed could be like the Melegran . Hats off the the decorators . The breakfast was a treat each morning …especially the breakfast girl . They pick you up in a cart to take your luggage up the cobblestone street …the nicest girl ( and informative ) took care of us . Keep up the good work.
Yellow House Rovinj

It's hard to carry a suitcase, but the location is good. It's a new experience. Separate from the accommodation fee, you can pay the tourist tax 1.86 euro. You can also use a card. The staff are friendly and the guide is good. Thank you. Because it's a company connection, we can't contact at least well. But thankfully, we can check in late at night. Car parking is very good. If the check-in is over 8 p.m. It's better to contact in advance. Thank you very much to the male staff of the office for taking care of our convenience.
