Canale Hotel & Suites

We had the most wonderful time in Kefalonia. The Canales suites hotel was simply amazing. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and helpful, they really made our trip extra special. Upon arrival we were upgraded to the Penthouse suite. The hotel itself is very stylish and modern. The rooms exceptional, the beds are the comfiest I've ever stayed in. By the side of the bed is a controller for the automatic curtains so you don't even have to get out of bed to open them in the morning to see the beautiful view of the marina. Breakfast was incredible, all the staff were really attentive and helpful. On top of the amazing hotel we also had free reservations at Costa Costa beach. Simply tell reception the day before and they will reserve you sun beds right at the front and what a beautiful beach it is. I would highly recommend this hotel. If you get the chance to take a boat trip I would also recommend the Queen Bee 2. We had the most wonderful day which just added to our amazing time in Kefalonia. A special thank you to Christina, Maxine and Costas for making us feel so welcome (my partner even cried when we left)

Having visited our favourite Island Kefalonia many times ,we were looking for somewhere special.Wow we found it at the Canale.All 5 stars deserved and more.We had a wonderful 14 days.The staff make you feel so special.The beds the most comfortable I have ever sleeper in.Breakfast is something to experience.Won’t mention each staff member by name as they were all special.If you are thinking of booking don’t hesitate.Hoping we will BA able to return

In short, this hotel is the best we’ve ever experienced! We treated ourselves to a ten-night stay as it was my wife’s birthday and this year also happens to be our 40th wedding anniversary and we loved it here. The hotel’s facilities are excellent and the room is very modern, almost spa-like, and really well designed. We had a penthouse room with a jacuzzi on the balcony too. It was a really comfortable stay and the room cleaning was impeccable throughout. The breakfasts, as everyone on this review site mentions, are just amazing. And virtually never-ending! But my wife and I thought that the truly best feature of this amazing place is the staff: each and every member of staff was a credit to the hotel. We genuinely had a fantastic experience with them all. They were all very professional and very friendly and they would go out of their way to help. We’d like to thank each of them for their individual service for us. The following looks like just a list of names but each one of these people were so friendly to us and they all deserve a mention: Petras, Costas and Martine on Reception, Christina for breakfast, Antonis, Marianna, Eva, Maria, and to the lady whose name we didn’t get but who very kindly made and presented us with a birthday cake for my wife! And not forgetting the two guys on the door - no name badges, sorry, but one we know was called Jefrah. A big thank you to all and to all the ‘back-stage’ people too. We look forward to returning one day.

Difficult to know where to start so let’s go with the breakfasts- they are amazing, imaginative and just wonderful to experience especially under Christina’s guiding hand always there to help The staff were all fantastic and we genuinely felt they were pleased to see us whenever we arrived back or Stopped to ask for help or advice This was our first time to Kefalonia and the experience at Canale will ensure that it will not be our last

One of the best holidays ever, we could not fault anything ,the service was impeccable , the food fabulous, and the rooms were cleaned to a very high standard daily , if you want 5 star + this is the place for you from the doorman , Martine on reception with her wealth of knowledge of the area , and places to go, to Christina our morning waitress so helpful nothing was to much , we will definitely be back , we ate at it’s sister hotel 100 yds away the Casaly Hotel the service by Alexander and his team was extremely professional, and the food locally sourced , and cooked with a Greek twist was to die for . We met the owner Spiros , who showed us around the recently opened Hotel , it has a gym , sauna , Himalayna salt room ,hydra pool , and spa facilities that Deb took advantage of and was very impressed again . Spiros expects very high standards from his staff and they do not let him down .The layout of both hotels is luxurious and a great place to chill out, as you can tell it does not get any better then this .

We spent five days at the Canale in Argostoli and the hotel room was lovely, with many amenities. The staff were wonderful, very solicitous of our needs and we felt they genuinely liked us and were interested in us. They helped us rent a car, find a piano in the town, and find a pharmacy when we needed one. We had another friend who was staying at a nearby hotel and they made him feel very welcome.

On arrival we discovered that our balcony overlooked a construction project which continued work all day every day of our stay. The noise, the fumes, the dust and the total lack of privacy made our balcony unusable. Obviously this work is beyond the control of Canale but, given the impact, we believe that in good faith they should have warned us in advance so that we could at least consider our options. The internet connectivity was so poor that we joked that the hotel was jamming it to prevent us posting a review. It dropped the connection every few minutes so we set up a 5G hotspot and ran our devices off that. Fortunately, we have unlimited mobile data roaming but not all guests will be so fortunate. My wife, whose admittedly pre-existing respiratory condition was exacerbated by the dust and fumes from the construction, asked for help in locating a doctor. You know, that “concierge service” they advertise? Well, they sent her across town on a wild goose chase to a medical centre that was not and never had been open before 6pm in the afternoon. All of the above we bore with a good grace and nary a comment. At 7:40pm one evening my wife, not feeling well enough to go out to dinner, rang to order room service (available until 8pm according to the flyer in the room). Canale, despite knowing from the previous episode that she was unwell, told her that she was too late, that the simple items requested (dips and a cheese plate) were impossible and that she should go into town if she was hungry. Bullied into submission, she resigned herself to going to bed hungry. Then I got on the phone, my fund of goodwill totally exhausted. Five phone calls and a hour later the “impossible” items were delivered. Canale appeared to think that we should be grateful for this. To us, though, it simply demonstrated the arbitrary and unnecessary nature of the initial refusal. We checked out first thing the next morning never to return whilst current management remains. Two stars. One for the excellent quality and service of the breakfasts and one for extraordinary cleanliness of the room.

Very attentive and helpful staff at a beautiful chic hotel. You couldn't expect a better service from any of the most expensive 5 star hotels in the world. The rooms were spotlessly clean and everything was to the highest standard possible.

We have travelled to lovely resorts. This hotel has the design and sophistication of the best hotels. But what makes it so wonderful and memorable is the staff and the level of service they provide. Nothing is too much for the staff restaurant recommendations, planning your excursions, car rental and your personnel comfort We would love to thank all the staff. A special mention for Alexandra and Evo Will be back.
