Embassy Suites by Hilton Sarasota

The front desk was nice and helpful. I got a room on a higher floor (thanks Trip.com). The location is very good. City Center in walking area, safe neighborhood. But: the hotel is encircled by building and street construction sites. It is very loud. Not what you expect if you have holidays and want to relax. And USD 32.- (incl tax) per night for the self-parking, is too much.

The embassy suits was nice hotel and served our purpose as a family. It was conveniently located and the room itself was comfortable. Here’s the only issue I had and it had to do with customer service. Our flight was delayed coming out of Rochester NY because of a compromised tail issue. At first it was a half an hour and gradually it became three hours. We tried to make a loud connection out of Charlotte but was unsuccessfully. We missed the flight by 10 minutes. As soon as I was able I reached out to ******* and they helped navigate the situation at 11:30pm and called the hotel to inform them of the situation and that we would not be staying in our final destination which was Sarasota, Florida. The person ******* spoke with told our agent that they would look into it, but we would be receiving a refund for the first night. When we got to the embassy suits on Monday morning, I spoke with several employees which included the desk clerk, a manager and a supervisor and they all told me that a refund would NOT happen and they couldn’t eat the cost of the room. They said the hotel was sold out, and this was income they were losing. I empathized with the big conglomerate and emphasized that this was beyond everyone’s control and in fact, as soon as I was able, I communicated the situation to the correct people. I felt that the management was u reasonable, curt and not customer friendly. This was not just a “no show” as they used that term several times. Poor cust service

Pleasantly surprise to find that they offer drinks and finger food in the evening that was also accompanied by a $25 meal/drink credit. Staff was very helpful.

So far so good! Our room is beautiful and has amazing views! Amenities are great, happy hour is always great, 2 free drinks and free snacks. Free shuttle to Main Street with all the restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend!

Evening receptionist was a bit rude, Didn't want to answer question. not very helpful. a younger girl stepped in and answered all my question. I think she also got the vibe that the lady was being rude.

Not our first time at this hotel, not bad experience this time but not happy with the $30 daily parking charge for a regular self parking NOT valet service. Laundry room need attention, washer/dryers need a deep cleaning. Breakfast service still excellent but evening reception is getting worse with every visit, Still loving the location and still on our top options when visiting the area.

We were impressed with this hotel. The room was great! It was a spacious bedroom with a separate living room and small kitchenette. It had a great view of the water. It included a complimentary breakfast and happy hour with plenty of snacks! The restaurant view was amazing! The city provides a trolley that circles around the places we wanted to visit, including Lido Beach and St. Armonds Circle that has lots of restaurants and shops.

Good: Our room is really nice and just right for a long stay. Breakfast is good and it’s included in our rate. Not Good: In house parking is very expensive but we manage to park on the street for free.

I recommend going elsewhere. If you stay here, Check for hidden fees first. They add $30/day parking & $25/day amenity fees. This is done for profit. ******* can post a lower rate than the hotel website & the hotel can increase prices on customers without giving more to *******. ******* is paid on the room rate, not the amenity and parking rates. Use the restaurant & you can recover the amenity rate in your dinner. Amenity fees supports the restaurant. My room was not ready on arrival. They suggested I go to the restaurant. The dinner came out of my pocket, despite the fact that I had to pay an amenity charge. Bad service by the front desk staff. Random fees appeared on my CC. These fees did not seem to coincide with any specific activity. I was polite & merely asked about it without complaining. Regardless, the man at the desk seemed annoyed that I would dare to ask. The cleaning staff folded up the towel that was in my shower and put it back under the sink. I discovered this when I picked it up shortly after they left and discovered that it was still wet. I am not sure that the sheets were clean, either. Dirty floor. The location is extremely noisy. One bright spot: I received very excellent service in the restaurant. The supervisor there was diligent in making sure that we had a good experience in that space. The servers at the bar and restaurant were helpful, quick, and courteous. Second bright spot: Plenty of things to do in walking distance from the hotel.
