The Pipa Old Inn is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Pipa Old Inn is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Datong. The hotel is conveniently located just 5km from Datong Railway Station and 19km from Datong Yungang International Airport. Keeping busy is easy, with Huayan Monastery, Shanhua Monastery and Fahua Temple all nearby. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. This Datong hotel provides parking on site. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.

"The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the ancient city. For dining: Xi Jin Dao is downstairs, Fenglin Pavilion is a 10-minute walk, and Long Juxiang offers delivery directly to your phone. Every time we took a taxi back to the inn, we'd get off at Huayan Hotel and walk two minutes. The popular Heshengcai is a 10-minute walk (though the taste was just so-so, and none of the pastries even had an ingredient list). For sights: Huayan Temple is a 5-minute walk. I visited Shanhua Temple at night, which was about a 15-minute walk. During the May Day holiday, there were only about 10 people in the entire temple at night, so we could enjoy a peaceful visit. On the way back and forth, we also saw the city wall's light show and passed through a lantern festival. Rumeng Datong (Dreams of Datong) was also within walking distance. Service was great too. On our last day, we had to leave for the train station at 7:30 AM, and the owner even packed breakfast for us. The lamb offal soup with vermicelli every morning was delicious. The furniture is all elm wood. The loft family room was perfect for our family of three. The only downsides were that the room rate was expensive during May Day, and the bathroom design was a bit impractical."

Quiet seclusion in a courtyard, with the bustling charm of the ancient city within walking distance. Xinhui Homestay is situated in the southern area of Datong Ancient City, adjacent to two landmark ancient architectural complexes: Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple, enabling easy strolls and sightseeing. Built in the authentic traditional Jin-style courtyard architecture, paired with an exclusive sunken courtyard, our property shuts out street noise and creates a private tranquil retreat. Rooms are arranged by floor for optimized experience: upper-floor rooms feature ample natural light and open views, while sunken rooms offer superior quietness and privacy to suit different preferences. Fully furnished with complete amenities and complimentary private parking, it serves as an ideal rest haven for your stay in Datong, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

"The hotel is new (the TV screen protector hadn't even been removed yet) and the closets weren't fully set up. If you're arriving by car, you access the hotel via the second-level underground parking lot. Communication with the staff on Trip.com before arrival was excellent when I needed information. The rooms we chose were in the basement, but the hallway was lit by natural light through skylights. The owners don't speak English, but we managed to communicate using a translation app. They were very responsive and resolved any issues, even at midnight. The showers are a bit cramped; either the shower cabin isn't perfectly square, or in the other room, the space between the shower cabin and the sink is restricted. Housekeeping was done daily, and water bottles were provided. However, the toilet paper was supplied in very small quantities. If you ask at reception, they'll give you more, but it's always a hassle to have to go and ask when a normal amount could be provided initially. We only had one roll, which didn't seem full, regardless of whether you had a room for two or three people. The electrical outlets don't accommodate French plugs, similar to what you find in Shanghai and Beijing. There's no laundry service available. The location is good, in a new district that's still under construction. The alley leading to it at night is lovely, with the illuminated storefronts of the various houses. The hotel can arrange a paid taxi service between the station and the hotel for guests staying in the basement rooms. The rooms are well-equipped; only a few finishing touches, like bathroom caulking, are still needed."

"Nanshe" is located in the ancient city of Datong, a quiet place amidst the bustle, about 15 minutes' walk from Daiwang's Palace. The hotel is equipped with a whole-house intelligent voice system, whole-house soft water purification and fresh air, large-screen high-definition projection, American Serta zero-pressure mattress, high-end toiletries, smart bathrooms, etc. The hotel combines the quiet style with the history and culture of Datong's Northern Wei Dynasty. The hotel has suitable shades of colors and is unique, fully displaying the beauty of oriental design. Nanshe always adheres to the guest-oriented service concept, VIP access, and the thoughtfulness and thoughtfulness of the private butler are even more meticulous. Friends from afar, if you come to Pingcheng from afar, you can follow Xu Xiake's footsteps and visit Beiyue Hengshan to visit the thousand-year-old "Xuankong" temple. You can also explore Buddhist art and encounter the "Yungang Grottoes". I dreamed of going back to the Liao and Jin Dynasties to visit the ancient temple "Huayan". Then walking to the Nine Dragons Wall, King Zhu Di of Yan was shocked by the brilliance of the Nine Dragons. This pearl from the Liao and Jin Dynasties shone from the Ming Dynasty to the present.

"Thanks to Nanshe, our trip to Datong was incredibly enjoyable and pleasant, offering a sense of security just like home. The guesthouse is located inside the ancient Datong city wall, which is an excellent location, making it very convenient to visit famous attractions and long-standing restaurants, all within walking distance. The room was clean, tidy, and well-arranged—small yet cozy. We even had foreign guests in the room opposite ours 😉. The two housekeeper sisters provided attentive and responsive service, always ready to offer advice. On our first day, they recommended the nearby Dongfang Xiaomian restaurant, a local favorite for sliced noodles; you can't go wrong with anything you order there! 😁 On our second day in Datong, we experienced a sandstorm, a rare experience for someone from the coast. We stayed at Nanshe for three days, and because of Nanshe, I fell in love with Datong."
