Travelled with Jet2, delayed due to fog, but would rather be safe than sorry. Half board. At first approach to the hotel the sight of the steps and slope filled us with dread for the week ahead! However, from the pool area the views are stunning, I don't think I've ever been anywhere where the views are as lovely. But, we were right to be worried, this place is quite remote, no easy access to a shop for water as the the shop on site stocks nothing but a few sun essentials and Ice cream. Asked at reception could we buy water and milk, no only what was in the mini bar, small bottles of water. Used the shuttle bus to drop us near a supermarket on the way to the beach, then picked it up again to go back at the same place 20 minutes later. Had to do that a few times. We were in a standard room, small balcony overlooking an enclosed garden which was ok, we hadn't paid for a sea view. Twin beds approx 3ft wide (small) and so hard. Rooms very clean but cold, but we were ok with that and there were blankets if needed. Drainage smell for first couple of days, we reported it to reception and it was not an issue for the rest of the week. Rooms cleaned daily, and smell lovely, fresh towels daily. Complimentary toiletries, not used so not sure if replenished. Hairdryer supplied with the shortest lead going, only place where you can use a mirror at the same time is the bathroom, not ideal! Suggest you pack an extension lead as there's no sockets in the vicinity of the dressing table. Doesn't matter what floor you are on you will need to take the stairs either to get to reception/exit or to get to the restaurants and bars. There is no lift! Food, there is a fair choice but always lukewarm, the hottest things are the plates. We were really impressed by the extensive choice of food when we first arrived, but found out later that there was extra food/choice put in due to a christening taking place that same evening. Drinks fairly expensive, everyone is complaining and leaving the hotel to get the bus elsewhere for food and drinks. Cocktails €13-15 and we couldn't even taste the alcohol. €7 for a large Mythos beer (similar to the UK excluding London). Pool area lovely and clean and grounds kept really nice, although a few repairs needed in some of the paving. Pool freezing, only brave enough to get in once, the lifeguard confirmed it's not heated, I believe I read that when I booked, but it really needs to be heated, it is barely being used. Sunbeds old, but good quality and nicely padded, quite comfy to lay on. Sun umbrellas nice, in good nick. But beds far too close together, had a feeling that if one turned over, everyone has to turn over! Nice choice of pool bar lunches. Most of the hotel staff very pleasant, hotel only just opened for the season, there's probably some newbies working here. Apparently this is a 4 star hotel, but I would only rate it 3+ at the most. There is an additional €10 a room per night environmental charge, not sure what they are spending
