Outstanding customer service, the landlord could not have been more helpful and friendly. Good value, delicious food. A good pint and nice, well kept surroundings. Lovely, clean toilets and decent music playing.One of the best pubs I have visited for a meal with family. Great location opposite the heritage railway station at Froghall.

I've been here multiple times over different events. The rooms are amazing (I stayed in the family/harry potter room) and the food and drinks are unbeatable! Nothing is too much trouble. I'm especially thankful to all the staff tonight as we booked in for a big group of 13 people including children and adults of all ages. Again, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was very pleased on what they had. Again, thank you x

Excellent food the service was outstanding could not do enough for us went with two friends even had a look around the themed rooms Harry Potter was great for the kids . Even the ladies toilets catered for the ladies essentials . The landlord was very helpful and told us some great stories and history about the place .

We had a fabulous impromptu lunch with family, it was excellent. We had been at a family wedding the day before. When the landlady found we had the bride and groom in our party she gave them lovely gifts and we had a thoroughly wonderful time. We would highly recommend this wonderful rural pub before and/or after a trip on the railway.

Had my hen party here this weekend all guest had an amazing time, all the staff couldn't do enough for us, the food was amazing both the buffet and the breakfast. Mandy, Steve and all the team are very welcoming and friendly. Rooms are very well decorated and the beds are so comfy, can't wait to come back again soon.

Came down to this lovely pub on Wednesday 10-4-24 for the steak night, had a lovely tomahawk steak approx 1.2kg( need pre-order ) rest had sirloins. Food superb, staff great surroundings lovely. Would heartily recommend. Have a good choice of drinks including real ales.

I think I may have just met the most friendly, accommodating people I have EVER met. We are staying at this property as we speak, and NOTHING and I repeat NOTHING is to much trouble for Stephen and his team. We have just had Sunday lunch on the Churnet Valley Railway (next door, literally) and then returned to the Inn for a quick (ish) drink. If you are looking for a property in this area, look no further, you WILL NOT regret it. I could comment on other on other elements of our stay but it would be pointless because if it wasn't right Stephen would change it. I would give it a strong 12 / 10 (and no, this isn't a typo).

Went for a late birthday treat as saw it was steak night. Not disappointed. Sirloin cooked to perfection! Nice little lay out & atmosphere. Steve & Mandy are excellent landlords, nothing too much trouble & love a chat. Give it a go, support local pubs. Well worth a visit.

We went for Sunday lunch, didn't have to wait long, really good service n very friendly staff, the food was amazing and we can't wait to go back, so if your after really good homemade food then the railway is the place to visit 😋
