3-Star Hotels in Kunming

This hotel truly exceeded our expectations! The cleanliness was top-notch—the room was spotless and fresh, with a subtle, relaxing aromatherapy scent. The amenities were fully functional and high quality, and the decor had a great tactile feel. The staff were warm, welcoming, and quick to respond to any requests. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise, especially the freshly cooked Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodles, which were authentic and delicious. The overall environment was quiet and comfortable, making it a great place to unwind and recharge. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kunming. Highly recommended!

As always, I chose Lavande Hotels. The front desk lady was very thoughtful; she called me in the afternoon to confirm my room and asked about my needs. Since I was landing in Kunming at 11 PM, I mentioned I might arrive late. She said she would reserve the room type I needed in advance and even sent over the location, which was incredibly considerate! I ended up staying for two consecutive nights. The cleanliness was also excellent, very meticulously cleaned. The location is good, and you can easily hail a taxi right outside! If you're undecided, I highly recommend this place!

Let's start with the location – unbeatable! It's directly opposite the landmark Cuihu Coffee Culture Center, just 300 meters from Cuihu Park and the subway station. Kunming Old Street is also only a block away, surrounded by tons of restaurants offering Yunnan specialties and handicraft shops. The hotel's design is very distinctive. The rooms are spacious, clean, and odor-free. The individual air conditioning is very quiet, and the bathroom has a wet/dry separation. All the front desk staff are incredibly proactive and polite. Upon check-in, they immediately provided recommendations for nearby attractions and dining via WeChat. I was traveling during the off-peak season. The lovely lady at the front desk readily upgraded my room to one with a living room featuring tree shadows – it was such a delightful surprise and made my Kunming trip even more comfortable. The only downside is that my room was on the second floor with no elevator. However, the staff helped with my luggage, which was great. Whether I visit Kunming during peak season or off-peak in the future, this will be my top choice, and I'll definitely recommend it to friends.

After settling down in Malaysia, I finally have some free time to write a review. The room was quite spacious, with one king-size bed and one single bed, plus a small tent for kids on the floor, which my child really enjoyed. There was a bit of noise from the neighboring room at night, but the soundproofing seemed pretty good overall, so I'm not sure what caused it. They also offer a free airport shuttle service. If you want to go downtown by subway, they can drop you off at the airport for free, and you can take it from there. If the driver happens to be at the airport when you're returning, I think you might also get a free ride back. My son and I went downtown for some rice noodles; I asked the front desk girl, and she recommended Liu Huan and another place. Since we only had one night, we chose Liu Huan. Right in front of the hotel, there are petrol stations (Sinopec and PetroChina), which is very convenient. If 100 is a perfect score, I'd give it a 95. Keep up the good work and don't get complacent!

I took my mother out for a trip, and the last stop was Kunming. The hotel is in a good location. It costs 12 yuan to take a taxi to Tangzixiang subway station, and then take Line 6 to the airport. I went to Dianchi Lake and took Line 5. The business twin room is very large and the breakfast is very delicious. The hotel is newly renovated and the facilities are very new. I originally planned to stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Tangzixiang, which has a better location, but in terms of cost performance, this one is much cheaper, and the extra money I spent on the taxi can be ignored

Booked a queen room, but upon arrival, they said it was an 'event room,' which was small and located at the very edge. The first person quoted 49 for an upgrade, then someone else said 20-something, and we ended up paying 20-something extra just to get a proper room! I've stayed at so many Hanting hotels across the country, and this is the first time I've been asked for extra money right off the bat! And the price even changed! What a scam! If my client wasn't so close, I definitely wouldn't have stayed for two nights! Oh, and on the second night, they still tried to charge more!

The staff were so nice. Always smiling, always ready to help, and it felt genuine rather than just part of the job. Even in a short stay, they made us feel looked after. Breakfast was good too. Nothing fancy, but fresh and tasty, and a nice way to start the day before heading out to explore. My favourite part was a small thing, though. When we checked out, they gave us a little parting gift. I wasn't expecting it at all. I'd actually been planning to buy something like it from one of the shops on the street, so now I don't need to. It was a really thoughtful gesture and left us with a lovely last impression. One night wasn't nearly enough. It's the little touches like that which make a stay memorable, and I'd gladly stay longer next time I'm in Kunming. If you want a friendly place with a good location in the old town, I'd say go for it.

This is our second time staying at this hotel in Kunming, and both times we've chosen it for my elderly parents. It's incredibly convenient for visiting Dianchi Lake, and it's been recently renovated, looking even better than before with a charming, antique feel. It's very photogenic! The owner, front desk staff, and concierge were all incredibly helpful. The first room wasn't quite comfortable, so they immediately moved us to another. My parents have trouble sleeping, and they were very accommodating, switching us to a twin room. The owner even turned out to be from the same hometown as us and kindly offered free tea. We felt very at ease during our three-day stay. It's also convenient for visiting Shilin (Stone Forest). I highly recommend staying here for your travels.

Back in Kunming that evening, we skipped the queues and enjoyed the top-rated braised chicken feet barbecue. The overly friendly and enthusiastic landlady, who was almost prone to swearing, provided a wonderful final dinner for us, who were starving after a long day. Finally, we returned to our last resting place – a super luxurious mansion with an entrance garden, swimming pool, sauna, tea room, gym, entertainment room… Rangrang's carefully selected homestays truly made this trip a perfect ending! The exhausting part was that I had to cut my vacation short by a day for work, getting up at 5 am to catch my flight. The result was exactly the same as years ago when I returned to work after jet lag – I overslept the next day, hahaha! Just like in that dream.

The hotel is located 200 meters outside the North Square of Kunming Railway Station, a 10-minute walk to the station entrance! It's relatively quiet, clean, and the mattress was very comfortable—I had a great night's sleep! It's a shame I booked the wrong date and had to modify it, making breakfast an extra charge.
