"The counter service crew lady was the rudest person i encountered from my entire Japan trip. While explaining the car park arrangements, she raised her voice at me while i was trying to understand how far the allocated carpark for 1 day stay was, assuming I didn’t understand the policies. This first impression has deeply damaged our experience in the hotel."
"The service was excellent. I especially want to praise the front desk lady that day, because we lost something at the previous hotel the night before, and the hotel's telephone customer service could only speak Japanese, so we couldn't communicate. The front desk lady of this hotel was very patient in helping us. It took up a lot of his time, but she was always very enthusiastic.
The hotel also offers indoor and outdoor hot springs, and the restaurant in the hotel also serves good food. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious with a lot of variety. It was a very pleasant stay experience."

"Takayama is not a big city, so the hotel location is always going to be an easy 5/5. The hotel is clean, quiet and the onsen bath is great. The hotel also helps to use luggage transporting service which help me to send my luggage to my following destination after a night in Kamikochi. Great place with great amenities so a big recommended for a stay at Takayama."

"This guesthouse is clean and conveniently located near the JR station. The owner is incredibly friendly and provides helpful information for exploring the town. It’s the first place I’ve stayed where they even carried guests’ luggage, which was a thoughtful touch. A warm and welcoming experience overall!"
"Very very satisfied ~ It is a traditional Japanese inn ~ The service staff are very enthusiastic ~ The boss lady ~ The lady ~ The brother are very nice ~ There is also a free kimono experience ~
Facilities: Complete ~ The bathroom is public ~ You can take a bath ~ Very comfortable
Sanitation: Very clean
Environment: A little far from the city center, about 20 minutes walk ~ But there are restaurants and supermarkets around ~ It is still very convenient
Service: The service is very good ~ Very enthusiastic and friendly ~
Overall very satisfied ~ Recommended ~ Recommended ~ Next time I have the opportunity to come to Takayama, I will choose to stay!"
"It is a hotel where you can experience traditional style of Japanese room and shared onsen. The hotel was clean, both in the room and shared spaces. Amenities provided were sufficient. It is very close to the Hida village (open-aired museum) which is very nice, though a bit far from the city center where located other attractions. So, it is more recommended for those travelers who have a car to drive around.
The breakfasts came in traditional hida style set (i guess), and were delicious, especially the hoba miso.
The staff are nice and friendly too! Love it!"
"I visited GW with my family.
The word “hospitality” was perfect.
The staff were friendly and friendly, and I was very comfortable.
I was happy with both the bath and the food.
I would like to return if there is an opportunity.
Thank you very much."

Amazing
MMike IgWe really enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Takayama. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed — a great balance of practicality and coziness. The staff were warm and welcoming, making the experience even better.
The hotel had some standout touches that made it feel special: free chazuke (rice with broth) served every evening, a relaxing onsen and sauna available to all guests, and even free popsicles after your bath — small but thoughtful details that made a big difference.
The location is also excellent, just a short walk from the bus/train terminal and the city center. Overall, a very pleasant stay and a place we’d happily come back to.
HHoIrisExcellent location, 5min walk to train/ bus station and convenience store. Like the design of the hotel and there is outdoor and indoor hot springs on 9/F, very chill when soaking in hot spring outdoor in winter time.
Breakfast is 2,800yen per adult and half price for kid. The ambience is super nice and the food is fairly good. The breakfast starts at 6:45am, a good choice for those who need to catch the early bus.
PPandaManiaHotel is located very near to the train station. The room has kitchen facilities and washing machine. Service at check in reception was however lacking. Staff needs to be trained.
JJ.LoThe location is convenient, just near the train station. You can feel the strong Japanese flavor when you step into the hotel. You can borrow kimonos for free during your stay. You can also wear them out and stroll around the ancient streets to take photos. It is a good experience. The hotel also has private baths, but reservations need to be made in advance. There are many restaurants and shops nearby, and it takes about 5 minutes to walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and ancient streets. You can choose Japanese or Western breakfast. The Japanese style is very exquisite, rich and delicious. The staff here are attentive and have high English proficiency.
SSetoucVery nice hotel and great location. I was lucky to have the last parking lot that is not yet reserved. I wasn’t able to try the private onsen because I didn’t book in advance. I’ll definitely book this hotel again if I go Takayama in the future.
LLeon FokThe apartment is conveniently located near the train station, which provides easy access to public transportation. While the surrounding neighborhood is pleasantly quiet, it is still very convenient, with restaurants and other amenities within walking distance. The spacious balcony offers lovely views and is a wonderful feature, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air and scenery. Overall, this is an excellent value and I would highly recommend it based on the location, amenities, and beautiful balcony view.
WwipaweeStaying near the station was super convenient for day trips. The hotel itself was really nice and clean, breakfast was a great start to the day. The staff were friendly and helped with everything. Definitely recommend finding a place close to the station like I did. Makes exploring so much easier!
AAnonymous UserThis hotel exceeded our expectation! It is very near the Nohi Bus station and the JR Takayama station (3-5 min walk). Although we just stayed overnight, we had a memorable experience in Takayama Ouan. The hotel has a lot of freebies for their guests. They have a booth in the lobby where guests can get free brewed coffee, hot tea, and green lemon iced tea. They also provide free socks since the hotel have tatami flooring. What we also loved about this hotel is the onsen (separate public onsen for male and female, and 3 private onsen). They also have a freezer where guests can get free iced cream after bathing. During past 9 pm, they also have free ramen for their guests. The room is spacious, and the view from our window is also nice (the roads and establishments covered with snow). Aside from the free stuff and great amenities, we also appreciate the kind and friendly staff members. We accidentally lost the luggage claim tag (and we are willing to pay for it) but they didn't charge us anything.
When we go back to Takayama, we will definitely stay here again.
AAlexwAbsolute gem in Takayama. It was an impulse last min booking hence we arrived and check in late but got a good deal.
We were upgraded to the suite room which is a total surprise. Room was huge! There's living hall on one side, and bedroom on another side.
There aren't many tall buildings in Takayama. Hence, we can look out the window for the whole town scenery. Surrounded by mountain and snowing in the morning, such a lovely stay.
Hotel has public thermal pool on the ground floor free for guests. Breakfast was sufficient but can be long queue.
Overall, it's a good short stay at a lovely hotel.
雲雲尼王A small hot spring hotel. I really feel the hotel's care. Compared to more prosperous areas, I prefer this kind of remote small hotel. I feel that the hotel wants to do every place carefully. Although the price is cheap, there are many details. Everything is well done. For example, there is a self-service snack and drink area in the lobby, which is available 24 hours a day. Yukata for children is also provided. The hotel rooms are very clean. I wonder if they have been renovated, so the rooms are very new and clean.
