Days Inn by Wyndham New Market Battlefield

Great view outside the hotel. Our room was clean and tidy. The receptionist was friendly and check in was smooth.

Location has a good Mountain View.

It would have been at least getting what we paid for if they had laundered the bedding but there was so much hair in the bed that my wife insisted that we sleep on top of the covers, and that was after changing rooms and checking 3 beds, it was evident that they either don't bother to launder the bedding between guests or they overstuff the washing machines so that the washer and dryer can't get the hair out.

We booked this room because we were going to Luray Caverns for my daughters 9th birthday and it was affordable for my fiance, myself, and 5 kids. The booking stated Free Breakfast also which is nice with all the kids. The breakfast is NOT continental.. it's "grab and go" which I never knew was a thing. It consisted of a brown paper bag containing a banana, a tiny water bottle, a granola bar, and pb crackers. Honesty, I didn't know if I should laugh or be mad. Also, the rooms do not have microwaves or blow dryers lol. We packed snacks for the kids, like popcorn for watching a bedtime movie, which we then had to take to the lobby and use the "community microwave." The floors were dirty and i actually washed a few areas where there was some old brown sticky stuff that was never cleaned. We stayed Friday til Sunday and never saw housekeeping until the morning of checkout when she stopped to see if we were leaving. Also, out back of the place is a giant overflowing dumpster. Its got mattresses sticking out and i don't think one more bad of trash could possibly fit. I'm pretty laid back when it comes most things and I don't normally make complaints on businesses, but I don't think this place actually gets cleaned. I think they just reset the room so it looks like stuff was done and then keep on keepin on lol... I won't ever stay there again. It's not an awful place...I just think it needs to be ran by people who actually give a crap.

The door didn't latch and after the disbelieving staff checked it out, indeed it didn’t. They then very nicely helped me move to another room .

It was what you would expect except for the included breakfast they do a bag and go

The place is run down and dingy and to top it all off there was a crack through the door u could literally just see thru

Floors were dirty. Heater was making much noises and did not heat very well. Reception was very slow and did not give proper magnetic card accès to room , had to wait 20 minutes after another guess checked in to get accès card. Linens were stained like they weren’t bleached. Much more to sas!
