The property, staff and food was all good/excellent. The shuttle to and from the airport was expensive and very shady. We were given a price if we wanted to wait 2 to 3 hours for a ride, than a different much more expensive price if we wanted a ride within 10 minutes!!! That is just not right.

The only complaint I have is that there wasn’t very much shade over the pool, so you couldn’t be in the water and out of the sun. Otherwise it was a perfect vacation!!!

beautiful large resort, very friendly staff (Edwin in the buffet area was the best!!!) and great food especially the al a carte restaurants. we went to la grand tortuga, tequila portofino and they were all amazing! we would love to go back again:)

The Staff
In general the staff was super friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Salvador at the Mexican restaurant for exceptional service! We did however had an issue with the safe box in our room which had a dead battery when we arrived. We had to call room services 4 times for someone to finally come and fix it. During one of our call, the person on the phone even told us someone came multiple time, knocked on our door and even called the room phone, which was simply not true since we were there waiting the whole time. When we told them they probably had the wrong room number, they kept saying it was impossible in a condescending way. A similar thing happened when we tried to get an extra blanket for the kids, which took 3 different requests.
Cleanliness
Our room, the restaurants, pools, bar and other public spaces were all kept super clean.
The food
The main buffet was fantastic with a great variety! Unfortunately we could only try the Mexican restaurant as all the others we're fully booked from the day we arrived.
Property condition & facilities
The facilities in general were great. Being there with small kids, we mostly spent time around the pools, which were very nice. Our kids especially enjoyed the kids pool and the water slides. We had no problem finding shaded seating all week, which was great. Unfortunately the kids playground was closed all week.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Grand Bahia and are already planning to return!

The rooms are in need of updating. Lamps on wall were coming off. Refrigerator did not keep things cold. Pool surfaces were extremely slippery. I believe all shows on the resort should be free.

We had an average stay. Nothing exceptional about the place. Seemed short staffed, we had to go ask for things often. Air conditioning went out in our son’s room twice. Water was red flag whole time we were there. Pool decks are slippery and saw numerous people fall. Was it a good time yes, would I come back here no. We have been to other places with much better service.

I had an absolutely amazing time!!! The food was fantastic the pools are amazing and the beach is so close! The staff was so kind and helpful in every way! I loved it! Just make sure if you go to book your dinners when you can check in online early because those fill up quickly. They have the buffet but also options to have dinner at the restaurants throughout the property (included with stay).

The staff were very attentive and friendly. Rooms were spacious. No shortage of food, drinks and activities.
The rooms need a bit of maintenance- toilet doesn't flush well, shower head loose, etc. The only other complaint is how busy the walking paths are with vehicles. Between the multiple different shuttles and staff buggies, as a walking patron, we were constantly having to move over and stop. There needs to be better division between driving and walking lanes, and enforcement of a slower speed limit for vehicles. It also contributes to a great deal of noise in the room, as this path is very close to most of the accommodations.
