We had THE BEST experience here for our Mother's Day getaway!!! The home, the grounds, and the pool are grand, opulent, and immaculately clean. The staff and the owners were so kind and friendly, too. A tour of the home is included. Breakfast is included on weekends. The owner cooked breakfast for us and served us herself in the big fancy dining room. The bar is open and the drinks were very good. We enjoyed sipping mint juleps and rocking on the front porch in the late afternoon. There is another large gallery upstairs on the front and the back where you can do the same thing, as well as a rooftop sitting area with a view of the Mississippi River. The rooms were cool and comfortable....oh that huge half tester steamboat of a bed piled high with pillows! We had a coffee maker in our room and I can imagine having coffee on that upstairs gallery that was just outside our room....especially on a rainy morning. The bathroom looked newly remodeled with a double shower and plenty of counter space. There was a magnifying mirror AND a makeup mirror in addition to the large mirror on the wall. We had a large flat-screen Amazon Fire TV that my grandson enjoyed playing games on. It's in a quiet neighborhood with antebellum homes and brick streets which would've made for a nice walk if we would've had time. There's a huge flea market nearby and it's close to historic downtown museums and restaurants so there's soooo much to do there, especially if you factor in the battlefield. We chose this house because it is filled with period authentic antiques, even in the bedrooms, and you can dine communally in the grand old dining room for breakfast on the weekends. It felt like going back in time, like it was our house. It was such a fun experience! We will definately be back!
