Thanks for the great stay! I was really happy with everything. I had a couple of ideas for potential improvements - It would be helpful to mention that it's a mixed-gender unit in the listing. That way, guests know what to expect. - Given the local culture here in Malaysia, offering a separate, single-gender unit—maybe by dedicating a floor to it—could be a great way to attract more guests. It would give people who prefer not to share a space with the opposite gender a more comfortable option.

Clean and comfortable room at a great location. Walking distance to the taiping lake and many food stalls. Adjacent to the Taiping Mall. Will stay here again.

Overall, my recent stay at your hotel had some truly delightful aspects, alongside an area where I believe there's significant room for improvement. The ambience of the rooms was absolutely lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and comfort they provided. A particular highlight for me was the bath gel – the white tea and camellia scent was so captivating that I actually purchased it to use at home! It's rare to find such a memorable amenity. However, I was not very keen on the front counter service. I found it to be too cold and not particularly friendly or welcoming. The interaction felt impersonal, and I believe that the initial impression at the front desk is crucial for guests to feel comfortable and valued from the moment they arrive. I would strongly suggest improvising your front counter service. By fostering a warmer and more approachable demeanor, your staff can ensure that guests feel genuinely welcome and comfortable from the very start of their hotel experience.

Service is tip top. Everyone is very polite and friendly from front desk to door men to f&b staff. However the room could be better. The water pressure is not strong enough and there's something wrong with the mixer tab because halfway through showering the water will turn cold. Another thing is the WiFi speed, it's too slow.

Very good hotel for business traveler with own transportation, due to it a bit far from town. I like the bed quality, very comfort. Plenty of parking lot in-front of hotel. Breakfast just a simple local food, not many choices. But it’s ok telly with the price charge.

Perfect 3days stay in premier room, it’s clean n nice mattress n pillow I feel very comfy to stay btw. Staffs is kindness with good smile. WiFi issues keep disconnected until the last day the whole day WiFi is totally not working till I check out still same. Overall is good

I really love the grandeur and ambiance of this hotel—the penthouse on the 11th floor, the pool view on the 4th floor, and the charming nightscape of Ipoh. Tonight, it feels like I’m on a honeymoon. My heart is full of gratitude.

Cleanliness: Lobby: Dull and unkempt. Lobby toilet: Disgraceful. Dingy and wet floors. Surau: Pathetic. Smelly telekung and sejadah. Baroness: Fair. Swimming Pool: Dirty. Not been cleaned. Shower taps missing and not working. Location: Excellent. Mins walk to Taman Tasik Taiping. 10-15mins walk to Bkt Larut trailhead. Less than 10mins drive to eateries. Service: Front Desk: Lack of interpersonal skills. No greetings. No warmth to acknowledge or courtesy to offer guests with a smile, no gestures to offer guests to have a seat while they’re attending to another guests or preparing their check ins/check outs. House Maintenance: ABSOLUTELY RUDE. He was called to unplugged the faulty bathtub plug. Housekeeping nor hotel did not inform me that the bathtub can’t be used as a tub. *******! Bell Boys: Useless. Didn’t offer any service at all. Baroness Coffee House: Food spread is good but tasteless. They served poor low quality food. Frozen popiah, croissants,cucur badak and potato wedges. Stone cold pandan Cake straight from the fridge. Nasi Lemak Pandan didn’t smell pandan at all and used green food coloring instead. A huge pile of foods especially the Nasi Lemak was left uneaten due to the lack of quality. Food wastage is observed. They really need to change the chef. Cik Liana 27.6.2025 portrayed professionally while listening to our constructive comments. She wore gloves while serving, refilling and cleaning the tables. The other servers did not. Amenities: Fair. Overall the Grand Baron Hotel needs more uplifting. The entrance and facade is sad, dull and empty. Some greens and lightings would improve the look. The lobby is unwelcoming. I was told the GM Ms Yong hardly comes and obviously couldn’t care less about the well being of the hotel let alone the staffs.
