Yauheniya Satsura🏡 Modest but Convenient Hotel Near the Beach
We stayed at this hotel in Pangkor, and overall, our experience was positive.
- 📍 **Location:** It's super close to the beach and the main street with cafes and shops – you really couldn't ask for a better spot.
- 🏠 **Accommodation Style:** The hotel is made up of small bungalows, each with its own entrance. Most have a little terrace with a table. It's all very simple, but clean and pleasant.
- 🛏️ **Amenities:** The bedding was clean, there was always hot water, and the air conditioners were powerful. The towels, however, are quite worn out and could use replacing.
- 🏊 **Pool:** There is a pool, but it looked a bit gloomy, so we didn't use it.
- 👥 **Staff:** The owners are polite and friendly. No deposit is required. There's a front desk, but it's not open 24/7, which is something to keep in mind if you're checking in late.
📌 **Bottom Line:** A simple yet tidy hotel with an excellent location. It's suitable for those looking for affordable accommodation by the sea without extravagant expectations. We were happy with our stay.

Tan Ai KhengThe environment is beautiful and very therapeutic. However, the room is too small. Although the bathroom is spacious, the shower area is quite basic. Despite this, my family still hopes to revisit and perhaps a different room might offer a better experience next time.

Guest UserPleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the top 12th floor! This floor offers exclusive complimentary afternoon tea with both sweet and savory treats, accompanied by local coffee. Unfortunately, we were out all day and missed it. We also didn't get to experience the infinity pool on the 13th floor. The hotel is centrally located, connected to a large shopping mall, and you can easily walk to popular attractions in the old town like Mural Street and Concubine Lane. It was very convenient to walk back in the evening, and there are plenty of authentic local eateries nearby, offering a lively atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable, and being on a high floor, it was quiet. Service was prompt, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. If you're visiting Ipoh and want a comfortable stay while easily exploring the sights, I highly recommend this place! 🏙️☕ Great value for money 👍

CGSOHIt was a pleasant stay overall.. except that the hand basin was clogged, the traffic noise from the adjacent main roads was a bit too much to bear at times, especially for those light sleepers. There was one early morning that we were abruptly waken up at about 6:30am by the heavy and persistent cigarette smoke from the centralised air conditioning system. With this, we asked for a room changed and the reception was responsive and willing to accommodate to our request.

Guest UserOverall, we had a pleasant stay and enjoyed our experience. The hotel’s direct beach access was a huge plus, especially for the kids, who had a great time.
My main feedback is regarding the breakfast restaurant. I think both the service and dining environment could be improved. The air conditioning wasn’t sufficient to keep the entire dining area comfortable, especially during busy hours.
The breakfast seating arrangement could also be managed better. Since the downstairs dining area was full, we were assigned a table upstairs. However, the food selection upstairs was very limited, so we had to go back and forth downstairs several times to get the food we wanted. It seemed that the restaurant lacked sufficient space to comfortably accommodate the number of guests during breakfast, which affected the overall dining experience.
Other than that, we had a good stay and appreciated the hotel’s excellent beachfront location.

Anonymous UserThe location is good, nearby to the eateries and easy accessible. There is also ample food parking inside and outside the place.
Contactless check in and checkout as well. The only thing is there is some humid smell in the house, after open the window and get some fresh air, it’s good.

Guest UserThe moment I opened the door, there was a terrible smell of sweat, which was unacceptable. I reported it to the front desk, and they said they could have the cleaning staff check it, and if the smell really couldn't be fixed, I could switch rooms. However, I couldn't wait, so I went and bought two bottles of air freshener to solve the problem. Thankfully, after spraying almost a whole bottle, the issue was finally resolved, so I didn't change rooms.
The room and bathroom are really small. For two people, it felt quite cramped. The water pressure from the sink faucet was very low, which was a bit inconvenient. Luckily, the shower head had good water pressure, allowing for a pleasant shower 🤣. The hairdryer needs improvement; it overheated in less than 5 minutes and needed to rest before I could continue using it 😭. There were no chairs, which was a bit of a hassle.
However, they do provide a safe, an iron, and an ironing board for pressing clothes. The air conditioning was slow to cool down, but it eventually got cold; it just needed time to 'warm up' (meaning, to start working effectively). Also, there were quite a few mirrors in the room: one on each side of the bed, a large one above, and a half-length mirror right by the entrance, so you can check yourself out wherever you go 😁.
Here are the good things about this hotel:
They include a buffet breakfast with an all-you-can-eat option.
It's available from 7 AM to 10:30 AM.
The selection isn't huge but includes nasi lemak, fried noodles, porridge, clear noodle soup, dim sum, a nutritious breakfast for kids, and salad.
Beverages include tea, coffee, plain water, and apparently also lemon water.
They have their own free parking spaces for guests, which is a big plus! 👍

宏仔 Horng. The hotel is the most affordable place to stay in Ipoh. The room is huge and has enough space for walking, and the bed is clean and comfortable enough to sleep. There are also a few places to eat along the street and the foods nearby are cheaper compared to the city centre. On the other hand, the hotel's floor is dirty, it's difficult to walk and we feel disgusted. Furthermore, the room unprovided the fridge. Lastly, the funniest place, the room provides us an ironing board but they don't provide an iron.

For the price, I think it is a reasonable option. However objectively:
1. The air-cons don't work well - one of them was leaking. The staff was helpful in sending contractor to fix while we were out but due to miscommunication (because we have connecting rooms) the ”fix” was made to the air-con that wasn't leaking as badly as the one we complained about. To be fair they offered to swap rooms but we are a family of 5 and it was a hassle to repack and move so we declined.
2. The hot water was very good despite some reviews. However the shower head in one of the rooms were such that they don't stay put so occasional splashes happened.
3. One of the rooms wasn't cleaned (we have connecting room) - the ”make my room” card wasn't available in one of the room so we hung on just 1 of the room and left the connecting door open, thinking that the cleaners would clean both. They only cleaned 1. I guess we could have outright told reception instead of assuming that the cleaners will clean both rooms since we left the connecting door open.
4. I paid for extra bed - but the bedsheet was dusty - they changed it (or at least vacuumed it) after the first night.
5. The beds were quite comfortable, they offered free bottled water and coffee sachets, tv worked, fridges worked, rooms were decent sized, wifi was ok - ample street parking, the lights were ok but one of the rooms had stark white lights instead of the warmer ones. Location was good, just off the highway and across the eateries in Bercham.
6. The staff were helpful and friendly. Despite the complaints they texted me and constantly called to check if we needed towels (because one of the room weren't cleaned) and they asked twice if we wanted to change rooms (we didn't because of reason stated above).
7. Suggestion - build a small ramp to go up to the hotel from the road if possible. It will be helpful for luggage and older folks / wheelchairs etc.
All in all, it was a decent stay. Price was competitive but cleanliness could be better - and air-con/shower heads can be better maintained.
