Negatives/Shortcomings:
- Gym could use more equipment. There are still some spaces for one or two machines
- One of the workers (i suppose) approached me while i was sitting at the foyer alone on the business/hall/gym floor, asked me with a condescending tone ”abg dok sni ke?”, i politely replied, ”ye tingkat 8”. Probably my appearance or someone from the camera room who thought a homeless guy might be loitering in their space & decided to send someone to confront me & treat me as i'm some kind of outsider. I DON'T APPRECIATE THAT! For all the hotel staff, this message is for you, don't quickly assume some disheveled looking guy standing or sitting around your hotel as someone who's trying to shelter themselves from homelessness. Be polite either addressing your guess or an outsider. Politeness goes a long way. Didn't they teach you in training? Or you might be a drop out for hire yourself?
- Parking structure is a bit old & could be intimidating to some because of its narrow & spiral ascent.
That said, everything about the hotel was superb & terrific. The staffs (excluding just one), the check in process, the room, cleanliness, the great location (directly connected to a mall) was all wonderful.
Will i come again? Most probably
We stayed at the AC Suite for 4 nights. Below are our comments and opinions.
The positive :
- Good and central location. Walking distance to the largest mall in Ipoh and plenty of good food places.
- Nice, clean lines and modern design.
- The suite is very spacious, consisting of a sitting area, bedroom, walk in closet, full bathroom and powder room.
- King size bed is good and generally comfortable. I find the pillows too soft, not a negative comment but this is just my preference.
The negative :
- Checking in and out took longer than expected or necessary.
- Room amenities could be much improved such as bathrobes, have a hand towel and soap in the powder room will be nice.
- The floor in the room which is timber look-alike vinyl tiles can be kept a bit cleaner, I find it slightly dusty.
Otherwise the overall is positive and will recommend this place.
The hotel is a bit old and the only advantage is it has a nice cafe near the lobby . The service of offering the umbrella during the rainy days is good. However, it can be a bit noisy when there are vehicles horning at night as the hotel is not near the touristy areas and it is quiet at night. Not too ex but not cheap either given the quality of the mattress and availability of the channels
Value for money stay at the hotel. Breakfast was reasonably good as well.clean, comfy and helpful staff. Had a good stay st this hotel.
Just opposite Restaurant Pusing which served a great chicken dish with ginger.
Also close vicinity to the various famous food stalls and kopitiams.
Improvement needed:
The main entrance location is not convenient for elderly guests or people with accessibility challenges.
A big no for the parking system, which operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. I spoke with the receptionist — a young Indian gentleman — and explained that my mother uses a wheelchair. I asked if he could help reserve a basement parking spot for easier access. He refused and made no effort to find an alternative solution or show any empathy. His attitude was dismissive and unprofessional, which reflects very poor customer service.
Since this is part of the hospitality industry, front desk staff should be well trained in customer service and communication. Unfortunately, he seemed untrained and unaware of how to handle guests with special needs.
The good/positive thing:
1. The hotel lobby and several floors have been renovated. A water dispenser is available, and there’s a 7-Eleven store conveniently located on the ground floor.
2. The driver and security guards provided outstanding service.
When they noticed my mother struggling to get into the shuttle van, they showed genuine care and empathy. They immediately coordinated to reserve a basement parking spot for us. The arrangement was ad hoc but handled quickly and thoughtfully.
Their warm-hearted support truly touched my family and me. The hotel owner is lucky to have such kind and compassionate staff members — they made a lasting positive impression despite the earlier unpleasant experience.
I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed from check-in to check-out. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of the city, walking distance to shops/restaurants/public transport. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully furnished, with comfy bedding, a well-designed layout, and amenities that included [list: e.g. espresso machine, high-speed Wi-fi, luxurious toiletries].
What really stood out was the staff service — everyone was warm, attentive and professional. From welcome greetings to helpful recommendations and prompt responses to requests, it made a big difference. The food and dining experience were also excellent: the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and dinner at their onsite restaurant was memorable. loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it.
A different experience from normal hotel, besides excellence cleanliness and helpful staff, I should say is a high tech hotel.
For senior citizen like me ,I no need to carry room cards, they use face recognition to enter the lifts and room. i like the heated toilet seat too!
Our stay at Ipoh ICC Premium Suites was fantastic, and we highly recommend it, especially for families.
The location is a big plus. Situated right opposite Ipoh Parade shopping mall and near Ipoh town, it's incredibly convenient for shopping and exploring the local food scene. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
The building itself is quite new, which means many units are still unoccupied. This makes for a very quiet and peaceful environment. We felt safe and secure, as there were security guards and a receptionist available to assist with any questions we had.
The apartment was new, very clean, and well-equipped. It had a full kitchen with all the appliances and cutlery you'd need, which was perfect for making our own meals. The owners also provided thoughtful amenities like towels, shampoo, and body wash.
A special shout-out to Ms. Tang. She was incredibly helpful and friendly, providing us with very comprehensive and detailed instructions for the check-in procedure. Her assistance made the start of our stay seamless and stress-free.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Ipoh.
I had a wonderful stay at M Roof Hotel in Ipoh. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful, making check-in and check-out smooth.
The location is great — easy to get to Ipoh’s famous food spots and attractions, but still quiet and peaceful. I also enjoyed the hotel facilities and the overall design, which felt fresh and stylish. Definitely good value for money.
Decent hotel situated at a good location close to Ipoh city. The room was spacious and well-equipped, but the cleanliness was questionable. It was as if the room had not been properly cleaned after the previous guests had left. The bed sheets and the pillow cases also seemed as if they had not been washed properly. Other than those complants, overall I had a decent stay at this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort from 28–30 September 2025. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the resort itself is beautiful with serene views of the sea.
At first, our room was close to the lobby with less privacy, but the team quickly arranged a room change to a higher floor with an amazing view. We were also pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful touches — a birthday cake and towel decoration for our son’s 9th birthday, which truly made our trip extra memorable.
Our family enjoyed the facilities, and the kids especially loved the pool and beach. We would love to see more family-oriented activities for children in the future, but overall, the experience was excellent.
Thank you to the DoubleTree Damai Laut team for making our family trip and our son’s birthday celebration so special. Highly recommended!

AAhmad Faheemi Bin Mustafaroom clealiness was ok..but in term of soundproofing can be upgraded to be better. price ok. location a little bit outskirt of Ipoh town but not to far just 10 minutes away. Plus point good shower. have wifi.

KKhairainStayed at this as hotel it use to be the best hotel in Ipoh when I was young. Over the years a lot of new hotel in ipoh. Impiana hotel is not like it use to be. Very bad staff management. Room that I book I wasn’t sure it was a premier room as some of other family members book a normal room look exactly the same as my room. The rooms also very outdated and only 1 lift was working out of 3 lift.
GGuest UserA decent 3-4:star hotel. The room size is spacious with balcony. The amenities is basic but sufficient if you are going to be a touch and go guests. The shower water pressure a bit low but the hand wash tap comes with hot water. The breakfast was great. Malaysian food and good variety.
