Always my go-to choice, this Novotel is quite new, and the breakfast offers a great variety. The biggest advantage is its high value for money and convenient transportation, being close to both the subway and train stations.

The location was a bit further than I expected. It took me about 10 minutes of walking from the nearest tram station, but my luggage were not too heavy so it's not a big problem to me. The price was also affordable and reasonable among most of the hotels I found in Amsterdam. Although it is a little far from central Amsterdam, it's not too complicated to go there using public transport, as you only need to get on one tram and one metro. The room was quite small, but the bed was super large for 2 people, and everything was so clean. I also received good service there even though it was a bit late (11.30pm).

The room having a microwave was a huge plus, very convenient for heating up quick meals. The room itself was actually quite spacious, though the bathroom was on the smaller side. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and friendly. But the absolute best part? They have an adorable orange cat you can pet! Cat lovers, this is your sign! The cat is very mellow and lets you pet him all you want. It's also quite convenient if you're taking the FlixBus, as it's only a 15-minute walk to the station. The hotel has two floors and no elevator, but it's manageable; if you have heavy luggage, you'll only ever have to carry it up one flight of stairs at most.

The hotel is 7 min walk to tram station and 50 min to Central.  The best part of the hotel was free parking and had a charging point.  The hotel rooms were spacious and super clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable.  Smooth check in process

The second issue concerns my food delivery. I had ordered food late at night, and it was left at the reception. When I went to collect it a few hours later, I was informed that the food had been thrown away. I was never contacted, no attempt was made to inform me that my order had arrived, and no explanation was provided as to why my personal property had been discarded. This is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a shocking lack of respect for guests and their belongings. The combination of these incidents reflects an alarming lack of professionalism, respect for guest privacy, and basic customer service standards. I expect the following: 1. A formal investigation into the conduct of the staff involved. 2. A written explanation as to why my room was entered against my explicit instructions. 3. An explanation as to why my food delivery was disposed of without my consent or any attempt to contact me. 4. An apology addressing the unacceptable treatment I experienced. 5. Facilities: Very comprehensive, they even had an iron, which I didn't need but appreciated. There was air conditioning too, which was a relief after staying in hotels elsewhere the previous few nights that didn't even have it. Cleanliness: Spotless and impeccable.

It feels very ”family-friendly” and is surrounded by nature, making it a peaceful retreat. However, keep in mind its location if you plan on visiting the city center frequently. City Access: There is no direct transport to the city center. To get downtown, you must take the shuttle back to the airport and transfer to a train/bus, call a taxi, or take a local bus to a transit point. It can feel a bit isolated if you don't have a car. Parking 🚗 There is ample parking space available, but please note that it costs approximately €20 per day. Room Quality 🛌 The Good: The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Overall, the room quality is very satisfying. The Amenities: A bit minimal. They provide the basics (soap, shampoo, and lotion), but no shower caps or other extra vanity kits. This is a pretty standard luxury hotel, with no major issues. There's a mini-fridge, but it's not cold enough and doesn't come stocked with anything. However, the umbrella is a high-end carbon fiber one, which is quite rare and a nice touch. The bathroom drain had a bit of a problem, probably a clog from hair that needs to be cleaned promptly. My biggest issue, though, was the front desk – they were incredibly slow! Especially during check-out. I've never seen a hotel where you have to wait in line one by one; usually, you just leave your room card and go.

There were some inconveniences, like the electricity not working at times and the shower door being incomplete, causing water to spill out. I was told there would be a hairdryer in the room, but there wasn't one. On the positive side, the staff were kind and helpful.

The greatest bonus point is that the Holiday Inn Express Hotel is conveniently located just beside the Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station, ~ 3 mins walk! Our rooms were nicely cleaned, wifi strength was strong, the complimentary breakfast buffet spread includes a selection of freshly baked pastries, cereals, fresh fruits, juices, boiled eggs & many different sweet & savoury toppings ☺️ We have only one feedback for improvement is the unfortunate heavy stench of urine smell left behind by some of the inconsiderate public members in front of the hotel entrance 😭 All in All, it was a wonderful stay created by each hardworking hotel staff member & the management team - awesome job!
